Thaksin

Somebody has written: "180 degree turnarounds are making the Government look stupid. This isn't an isolated case. Thailand is the laughing stock of the world."

Not to be antagonistic here, but ALL governments, all over the planet, have made major about-turns, on all matters of policy. It's what they do best! Additionally, I'm not sure that beyond Thais themselves, and a number of "farangs" interested in that part of the world have any idea about Thai social policy. Not really a laughing stock I'm sure.

I'ts funny, but a similar vein runs thru many of the "good points of Thailand" posts, and they seem to be the simple things that "touch one's heart." We all know the feeling. Back home, people are civil, but generally uncaring. I like the one about parking in Phrae "over by chicken." It's just the little things.

So this tattoo-smattered lowlife was strutting about shirtless in BKK. It's not the bloody Belgian Congo. Looks good on 'em. Class act!

Why are people so incredibly foolish as to fool with dope in places like BKK? They know the consequences.
