I find it rather amazing they found any given that these people obviously tested negative within 72 hours of their arrival.
What would be interesting is what were the nationalities of those who were infected and what vaccine were they reportedly inoculated with.do you have any idea of there movements from the time they got tested to the time they actually got on the plane? No you dont.
Go to shops, go to restaurant, go to cafe. Plenty of places to get infected from the time you get the test to the time you get tested in Thailand.
Its not a fool proof 100% guarantee system,. however its as safe as we can possibly get it without testing everyone every time they leave the home.

Get rid of the insurances and PCR test on arrival otherwise nobody will be coming to Thailand. Cut the requirements, full vaccination is the only requirement that will protect Thailand, make it easy to travel.
Dont forget the sneaky day 6/7 Rapid test you are required to do and upload the results to an app on your phone.
Many people are overlooking this snippet.
Just too much garbage to go through .
I will see how it is about Feb/March next year.
Hopefully many of these garbage requirements are gone.
Fully vaccinated and a PCR test 72 hours before your flight to Thailand and thats it.
None of the other garbage

What a massive shock this is.
So unexpected. I thought hundreds of thousands would be swamping the airports and ASQ and SHA hotels.

how my friend in Oz who wants to come here sees it...
So say for example I go for 3 weeks....
Test before I go
Test on arrival
Test day 7
Test 72 hours before I get on plane back
And within 24 hours of arrival home another test
5 tests in 4 weeks effectively
MadnessIt sure is mate. Which is why i am not jumping onto Skyscanner to book my ticket.
And with all those requirements to travel to Thailand, the bars, clubs and entertainment venues would want to be open.

No i don't luckily.
NSW and Victoria have no quarantine for returning travelers as of the 1st of November.
Some other areas have quarantine requirements but not the state I live in luckily.
However even with that, I am still not interested in traveling until next year when some of all the stupid restrictions are lifted.

So as a fully vaccinated Australian, if i was to come to Thailand for 1 month, i require the following. Covid test 72 hours before I fly out. covid test on arrival. atk covid test on day 6 or 7. Covid test 72 hours before i board the plane back home. Covid test within 24 hours of returning home. So 5 covid tests in the space of 1 month. Yeah I will give it until next year until some of these garbage requirements are dropped. Pure madness

Even if all the bars were to open, you think this high season would be saved....You really think tons of people would choose to travel overseas in the current climate. Chinese are still forbidden from leaving china, Aussies still cannot leave and most westerners too afraid to leave anyways. At best it would be a small trickle of people coming in.
Whilst i agree to most you have said and dont think this high season will be much of a high season, but as from the 1st of November Australian citizens who have been fully vaccinated can travel overseas and return with no restrictions or need for exemption

Neither have successful vaccine programs. Both used failed lock down to 'control' the spread. Neither have geonomic analysis programs.
Neither? You mean NZ and the poor Asian countries around Thailand?
Because Australia have close to (or will soon enough) have the highest vaccination rate in the world as a percentage I mean

Well Australia should be clearly ahead of about 30 countries on this list at least.
Within a month will probably be the highest vaccinated country in the world (%) wise and compared to 98% of other countries have had minimal cases and deaths.
However if the daily news is correct and the requirements re what countries Thailand let in first are largely based on vaccination rates and case numbers Australia will be one of the first few named.
When the official list is released I would bet good money on the fact Australia will be one of them

What about Queensland, Western Australia and South Australia? As I said NSW (and Victoria) are not Australia. Western Australia and Queensland are pretty anal about letting people in.
well thats up to there own states.
Im from Victoria and have no interested in WA or QLD. They are only play politics with border policies.

You clearly are not up to date.
NSW today have scrapped all quarantine as from 1st of November.
Victoria will do the same in the coming days around the same time.
And the vast amount of international flights are from NSW and VIC.

And earlier today report of 27 countries, with more added in January.
Story changes every day
WRONG.
Story changed by the hour, not the day.

Not holding my breath.
As an Aussie i need to wait a few more months before i can get a leave pass from Prison island.
However no idea of what quarantine will look like on my return to Australia.
The story going around is 7 day home quarantine no matter where you are coming back from.
Hope this is only a temporary measure and down the track thats gone also.

A bit too optimistic I think,
With that low rate of vaccination I feel its more prudent to start January 2022 and spend the next 2 and a half months vaccinating as many people in BKK as possible, however Im not sure if Thailand have the supply to do it.
And the thought of only certain areas of BKK being available. How is this going to be policed?

My advice.
DONT GO.
Thailand is a basket case and will be for at least another 6 months

I would say not very many
totally.
What tourist on a holiday would go under those conditions.
And most things are still closed up anyway.
Im suspecting most have commitments in Thailand and 2 weeks in Phuket with some freedom was a better option than 2 weeks in ASQ in BKK.

0.13% positive from the arrivals so far. Not even close to 1%.
Given the fact most of the good vaccines are 90 - 95% effective the numbers of positive cases is less than what was probably expected.
So how is this news?
Ever since covid appeared on the seen it seems a large percentage of people now want to live in a risk free world.
