  2. I suppose I'm a averagely competent, if somewhat ancient, computer user, and I frequently download software programmes, and the odd video clip etc, and with the kind help of the folk on this forum , I can now download and make my own MP's of radio streams, but for some reason have never got into downloading music.

Now the wife and son are getting into computers, they are asking me about music downloads, and to be honest it is something I would also like to do - but of course my choice of music would be very different from theirs.

When I look on the net, I am bewildered by the vast array of sites that offer music downloads - free or otherwise, and I really don't know where to start. I don't mind paying for music, but would prefer to pay for single tracks rather than albums, but here again, I have no idea as to which sites I should be signing up to, or giving out my credit card details to. It goes without saying that I am not averse to getting free music if it is legitimately available.

My media player of choice is Real Player, but I could use Windows Media Player, and I have also downloaded I-Tunes player. Even the few free tracks I have managed to download off one site don't seem to be transferred into my player's library, and I can't figure out how to do it. Also I have 'clicked on a number of links where it says 'download', and nothing has happened.

Is there an idiot's guide to how to download music and store it, and can anyone recommend some sites to try? I'm really not into the latest pop, and would prefer links to back-catalogue type of stuff.

    Thanks for any advice/help

  3. The farang connection is a cant miss place! As you walk past it there will be a fat, bald bloke with a technicolour shirt on and a cockney accent there inviting you in, once you orbit around him you will see a table full of old codgers half piss*d (except yorky) he'l be fully tanked up! putting the world to rights (all the young ones have returned to their home land), and possibly a rendition of frank sinatras I DID IT THAI WAY by (ahem) Ken! :o They might be a frenchman there also, you cant miss him he'l be sat by himself! So apart from them things the place is wonderfull and i'm sure you will love it!! Oh by the way there might be a cheeky little git there taking the michael out of anyone and anything mostly himself, but especially the frenchman! :bah: that will be me, as i arrive early May. Ooooohhhhhh i cant wait to get back to see the cantancorous old so and so's. :D

Great John...TOO BAD YOU MISSED ME :D:D:D

  5. My wife bought me a new phone the other day, and I must say it caught me by surprise. I didn't know you could get them like this.

    My telephone:

DOES NOT have T.V, internet, MP3, camera, video, VCD,VCR,DVD,, microwave oven, two way connection with a Russian space station orbiting Mars,

It DOES NOT have GPS, IRS, ILS, OPS,KHT,JYF, NAAFI,FBI, CIA,

But it does do this new and wonderful idea.

It makes and receives telephone calls.

Do you think it'll catch on?

so that's where my phone went after my last visit to that "pub"...enjoy it and try some numbers left in the phone memory, they can make your day ... (you might need a few "blue's" at your age) :o

  6. Surin police report surge in narcotic cases

Police report on narcotic suppression operations in Surin province for March.

The Commander of the Surin Provincial Police, Pol Maj Gen Boonlert Jaipradit (บุญเลิศ ใจประดิษฐ), revealed drug suppression progress in Surin province during March. Pol Maj Gen Boonlert report that authorities have solved 41 narcotic cases, with 41 suspects in custody. 37 suspects are convicted of amphetamine use, 1 suspect is charged with marijuana possession, while 3 suspects are charged with solvent abuse.

The Commander of the Surin Provincial Police report that police had to handle a larger number of drug cases in March when compared with February. Pol Maj Gen Boonlert said the trend indicated the prevalence of drug use in the province, which may be attributed to narcotic smuggling in local areas. He affirmed police would intensify efforts to suppress the local drug trade.

The commander added that the majority of drug arrests were made on drug users, therefore rehabilitation and assistance for drug addicts was of the utmost importance.

  11. now...i am using publisher and i have a problem to make hyperlinks from one page to the other

I'm sorry, someone should have told you. The web is out of unused links. All available links has already been used up. Until ICANN refills the link supply, there can not be any more hyperlinks.

    Ignore this. :o

    i didn't understand it anyway

you need a lot of boose for that ?

ore is this the real computer dialect ?

thank's cdnvic and all the others

  12. with all the issues with visa, bombs, coupe , is this having an affect on the Hua Hin property prices, about 8 months ago I looked and they seemed to be going up then up then up, how about know, are prices dropping, is it a good time to buy?

i am living in Chaam. The last few years (2 years), landprices going trough the roof.

i bought a pice of land last year (1 rai), the same pice of land next to mine is now for sale the dubbel.

    think well before you buy.

my oppinion, living in chaam, prices in Hua Hin going up every mounth and the property that is for sale is often so far out of the city and the beach that you almost need to buy a car with it. (traffic makes riding a motorbike very difficult if not impossible)

look around HuaHin (Pranburi,Chaam) and you still will find nice pices of land for a reasonal price and build your own dreamhouse on it. (bloks and cement arestill cheap)

    good luck

    happy builder

  13. We need alot more information here.

How are you doing the pages? In a text editor, or an HTML editor?

Where are you hosting this site? Are you using their template, or making it from scratch?

If you have little or no HTML experience I recommend you spend a day going through the step by step tutorials at Htmlgoodies.

    Here's a link to their tutorials on linking to other pages;

    http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3478171

that link is helpfull...i going to digg myself in and try to read and understand it ... it's the first time i do this but i got already a long way so i would like to finish it (with a bit of help of you guys)

    that's probaly Martin's future as well :o:D:D

  16. More to offer than Samui?

well i admit hua hin doesnt have a "monkey theatre" built out of coconut shells , or a butterfly farm where thousands of butterflies are kept prisoner , or a "zoo" with one tortured and sedated tiger pacing around in a cage.

neither does it have a spectacular 4 metre waterfall , or a dead ray charles lookalike in a glass cage in a temple.

but it does have a public transport system that charges foriegners the same as thais , and the level of fleecing here is negligable compared to the islands.

    ของใครของมัน as they say.

nice going ... your absolutly right

  17. in front of soi 5 north ... 7/11 on the beach

by the way...my wife loves horse riding so that's what she told me ... :o
