Just to demonstrate the inconsistencies of Thai Immigration, when they transferred my stamps to my new passport about 3 weeks ago, they automatically gave me a new 90 day report starting from that date, even though I had done one online with the old passport 2 weeks earlier!!!!

Looks like it could be at least another couple of years yet!

What that article doesn't say is that apparently there are some land encroachment issues in the Khao Yai National Park area, which could take some time to resolve.

Thanks guys for your replies, I was reluctant to install an outdoor aerial until I was sure that that was the problem, so I re-tuned the box as ThaiDown suggested and Ch7 is now back as clear as ever.
The wife is now very happy and I can have my TV back again.
Thanks once again - The power of ThaiVisa!!!!!!

My wife loves to watch channel 7 every night through a digital set top box with an indoor aerial.
For the last few days there has been no signal for that channel, but every other free to air Thai tv channel is working normally. I can get channel 7 on Livenettv.net on my Amazon firestick, so they are still transmitting, but if I let her watch that, I can't watch tv!
Does anyone know what has changed and why?

Best Supermarket. At least in the shop next to the roundabout (Terminal 21). Also a great selection of German breads is available for sale.
Have fun....
They've already tried Best Supermarket and Foodland - no luck!

My Thai friends from Pattaya enjoyed some Weihenstaphener Bavarian beer during a recent visit to me here in Korat.
Does anyone know if it's available anywhere in Pattaya?

Candy Shop on 2nd rd., opposite UOB Bank.
You need to go inside and ask, they're not on display!

Not that unique. There is another one on the 346 to Kanchanaburi. Just sitting there in the middle of nowhere by the side of the road. Not a restaurant or anything as far as I can see. Been there a few years now but how it got there and what the story is I have no idea.
There's also one in Korat, known as Airplane Park Korat.

I think the headline is confusing: red plates are not going to be banned, no---they are only be valid for 30 days now??
Total chaos and confusion is the norm as usual.
I was told that the red plates can only be converted to permanent plates when the car dealership pays for the vehicle in full and all sales taxes.
Not confusing! It states that 30 days is the current rule which of course is totally ignored in most cases.
The new rule is this
"He said the law was expected to be enacted in June, after which all new vehicles must have been registered to have license plates before they can be driven."
It remains to be seen how well that will be enforced!

EMS in UK is not operated by Royal Mail, it's operated by Global Priority which is part of Parcelforce.
Try tracking it here.
https://www.parcelforce.com/track-trace
If that doesn't work you can contact them via the "contact us" link on that page. I had a similar problem last year and they were very helpful and the parcel eventually got delivered.
If it's still in Thailand I wish you luck trying to get any help from Thailand Post. http://track.thailandpost.co.th/tracking/track-help/contact-thai.htm

It might have something to do with the fact that the report was from a British newspaper!
Maybe newspapers from other countries don't report what their natives get up to in Thailand.

Peter Reid coaching the Thai football team in Pak Thong Chai in 2009. I used to know him when he played for Bolton Wanderers in the 1970's but he didn't remember me!

The friends of Leonard Molyneux, originally from Manchester UK, living in Chiang Mai with his family, have heard that he has died.
Does anyone know Leonard and can confirm that he has died?

Did the tunnel flood?

Maybe then the national police chief will follow suit for the rest of Thailand.
I can only dream!

That particular beach, being how its positioned does get all the rubbish washed up, always has. Its a bit of a peninsular
I was on Jomtien beach, about 2 kms along from there twice this week, and it was just as bad, if not worse than that picture, so it's not just that beach. I go there regularly every few months and I've never seen it like that before. I don't know where it's coming from but I've got a few ideas!

As I plan on moving to Korat, does anybody living there know any odd quirks like this at there Immigration? It would be good to know ahead of time. As I renew my retirement extension this week here in Phuket, I will be doing my next 90 day up there......last one here took under three minutes, I barely sat down. Almost enjoyable.
No such problems in Korat. If you're applying based on money in the bank the bank letter has to be dated the same day as the application. If you're applying based on income just the Embassy letter will do. Both options you need to show evidence of address, in my case that's a copy of the wife blue book and her ID card, plus copies of relevant pages of your passport. That's all.
When you arrive, you or the house holder will have to notify them within 24 hours (TM30). Don't wait for 90 days!

If there is no electric?
Will they have had the foresight to install a diesel genny ?
(with an inertia starter in case the battery goes missing).Water flows downhill naturally (away from the tunnel), It doesn't need a pump or electricity to flow downhill (away from the tunnel).
It will take a miracle or a pump for water to flow uphill (into the tunnel)!

TrueVisions did actually write to all their subscribers a few months ago to inform them in advance of the price increase, which by some strange coincidence is 7%, the same as the VAT. It would appear that some people did not receive the letter, which is not surprising considering the poor performance of the Thai postal service!
-
Korat immigration also want to see proof of address, i.e. copy of blue book (Tabian Ban) and copy of ID card of the house owner (wife?), or rental agreement if applicable.

16 ? Is that a mistake I thought they came out in 2011..so 6 years ? ? ?I bought my Ford Ranger in 2006 and it was an updated version of the previous model Ranger at the time, so 16 years is quite feasible!

Was is necessary for ThaiVisa to publish her ID card? No respect for privacy here. Do you even know whether the family has been notified?
Her family knew within minutes of her being found.
She lived with her son at the restaurant next to my house, not far from the temple where she was well known.
A very pleasant and popular lady.

But the Bangkok to Nong Khai railway is still single track for many sections. Convertion to dual track has been going on for many years and is still nowhere near complete!
