I Worked Freelance for the ABC and the BBC so we were well versed in the law before we set out.
there is no expectation of privacy in public, and anything visible from Public is also legally ok to film.
You can even film the Police at a scene of a crime from a Public area.
Thailand does have a law about getting into peoples personal space, if they feel you are move along a little.
You can not photograph certain Buddha images.
