  1. I tried reading the whole thread before adding my own opinion about the matter but my eyes began to hurt. :D

I just settled down last month after convincing myself that all will be fine. I, among others, despise cheaters. I have seen a lot of men do this, women too. I once said to my hubby, “if you want to smoke, that’s okay but I will smoke too. If you agree with me smoking, then good riddance if not then don’t do it.” :)

For me, if my hubby cheats, I would probably want to know even if hurts. I want him to tell me so we could see why he did it. If it’s me then I am open for adjustments. If it’s sex, then we could device a plan not to get bored with it. If it’s temptation from another woman, I would get her name and post it all over the net, along with her picture. :D But kidding aside, if after what I did for him and he still cheats, I guess the problem would be him :D .

I think most men will still cheat after marriage. That’s a fact we can’t deny. With all the temptations here in Thailand and elsewhere, only a few could resist. But guys, would you still feel the same if it’s you who had been cheated? If you think your wife doesn’t deserve such non-sense, then why do it? Just for a lousy sex?

Then again, maybe am just being too idealistic.

  2. Beforehand, I would like to thank TV for clarifying the re-entry application. I have tried the e-visa of Immig and is schedule to go this Friday, the 14th. So we'll see what will happen.

Now, I have a totally different question. After my trip to Philippines, my fiance and I will be going to NZ embassy to apply for Visitor's visa. He wants me to visit NZ on December so I could meet the parents. My problem is my visa Non-b will expire on Sept. 29 which will be renewed before the said date. But how can my company renew it if NZ embassy is still holding it? He said they will need to hold my passport for about 2 weeks. Is this right? How long does it usually take for them to process a visitor's visa?

Also, after this we will apply for a residency and I bet this one will take longer. Do they keep it the whole time? or they will give the passport back and return it to them when it's time to stamp the visa?

My fiance is a UK national who is working in NZ and already have residency there for so many years now.

    Am greatful for your response.

    Thank you again TV.

  3. hello guys,

please kindly help me as am a bit confuse. :)

in my understanding, re-entry permit is issued so that your current working visa will stay valid when you come back here in thailand. correct?

well, my scenario is am going home to philippines in mid august for a week and within that week we are planning to go to HK. then back to philippines again. it's like phils-hk-phils-bkk. so single re-entry permit would be okay. but a friend told me that in hk, i still need to get another re-entry permit as it would be a different country. the re-entry permit i took here in thailand is only for philippines so i must get another one in hk or get a multiple entry here in bangkok before leaving in august. i told him it doesn't make sense. it would be too tiring and too costly if one should get a re-entry permit in each country he/she goes to. as far as i know, single re-entry permit is okay anywhere as long as you are still outside thailand and haven't come back yet and your visa is still valid.

please advice if am right. it confuses. my friend confuses me :D .

    thanks a lot in advance....

  4. Hello, I know this is a stupid question and common sense is the only solution. But my friend is bugging me for written proof that a company can only start deducting her salary once she receive her non-b visa or once she got her WP. She's still under tourist visa but is already working with the company. The Non-B and WP are in still in process.

Am I right in telling her that the company can only deduct (taxes etc.) her salary once she receive her NON-B? Does anyone know where I can find a link regarding this, probably from Labor or somewhere? I tried checking the Labor website but couldn't find it. Maybe I miss it.

Your help will be very much appreciated.

    Thank you :o

As your friend is working on a tourist visa, what she is doing is illegal..if the company is taking deductions.. what is she going to do about it...complain to the labour dept..???.

I would advise your friend not to make waves about this one...

Yes I told her that. All she can do is ask her employer not to deduct her salary until NON-B is received. Her Non-B is still under process according to her and according to her employer. Yes I know that she can only complain if she is working legally. She knows this too. But she's on her way to being legal. The question is if the employer has the right to deduct her salary with her current situation.

I have asked the nursing home about the requirements and they said they will give it all to me and that I should not worry about the cost.

Further, from the Canadian Government website...............................

To apply for a work permit from outside Canada, you must submit the following documents:

    * a job offer from a Canadian employer

    * a completed application, that shows that you meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, and

    * written confirmation from Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) that the employer can hire a foreign worker to fill the job. This confirmation is called a positive labour market opinion.

o In most cases, it is up to your employer to get that written confirmation. Information on the labour market opinion is found under Information for Canadian employers on the right-hand side of this page.

o In some cases, you do not need a labour market opinion. (See Jobs that require a work permit but no labour market opinion.)

You must also do the following:

    * Satisfy a visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your work permit.

    * Show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family while you are in Canada.

    * Respect the law and have no criminal record. (You may have to provide a police clearance certificate. See Have a medical exam or criminal check done in the Quick Find section on the right-hand side of this page.)

    * Show that you are not a risk to the security of Canada.

    * Be in good health. (You may have to have a medical examination.)

Some temporary foreign workers can have Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) start processing their work permit applications before a Canadian visa office has an approved labour market opinion. To find out more, see Concurrent processing:

  7. I am sure now that the email I mentioned in this thread is really a scam. How?

I was reviewing my emails from them and one of the emails includes CCUC Inc. at the "TO" field. I guess they have forwarded that email to that company. I made a researched on the net to get an info about CCUC Inc. Guess what, it was known to be a notorious scammer. They will not asked money for your ticket, processing fee and the works but what will they asked you is for you to pay for the health insurance from a western canadian company. <deleted>. When I saw this I was really angry, disappointed at the same time. But I felt lucky too as I haven't given them any money and I had found out early about their modus operandi.

Where do you think I can report them? Canadian Embassy? I think I will spread the word about them so that people will be careful when they encounter the same.

  8. Yes thank you.

Get the exact Canadian name of the nursing home, the exact street address including postal code, and a local phone number including the area code. The 888 area code is an "800" number where one can dial in toll free--it can be set up anywhere in North America. From that information you can do a complete check of the company through the Canadian Embassy in Thailand. If you have the person's full name who offered you the position, you can then have the embassy double check it for you.
  9. I think I got it from the internet. In one of the known classified ads on the net. I did check the organization on the internet just that I can't find them. I don't know why. I also checked them out via BBB online still nothing. Here is there website http://wns.ltd.tripod.com/index.html.

They have sent me loads of emails but I will show you the one from the so called immigration officer:

I have asked the nursing home about the requirements and they said they will give it all to me and that I should not worry about the cost.

Phone the Embassy. You might be waiting forever for the email response.

Make sure you get some real contact info for the place they want to send you, and then check out the organization in Canada by internet.

BTW the Canadian job market is quite hot so I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be real.

Very hard to find workers in some areas.

How did you get the info about this job in the first place. Did you look it up or did you get an email?

  10. First of all, I would like to apologize if I posted here. I think this is the best place since my issue is about Canada and not Thailand. Mods can move it anytime if it's in the wrong category.

    So here it is:

I was offered a job in Canada as a Customer Service Support at a Nursing Home. I submitted my resume and they replied back with an application form and a visa form. I filled out both forms and emailed it back to them. When they received the visa form, they told me to wait for 2-3 days because they have to submit the forms to the Canadian Immigration. Once approved the immigration will inform me and will email or phone me about the requirements and what I need to do. I received the email after 5 days but not from the immigration but from the company itself. They told me to contact an immigration officer who will handle my case. The email address they gave me is under a doramail. So it's like [email protected]. It's not the actual email but to be secure I just set an example. At this point, I felt like there is something wrong with that email. I ignore my intuition and contacted the email. He/She replied. He told me what documents I needed to show at the embassy here. The thing is the email was also in a dodgy style. It's like done by a unprofessional person or something. I don't think any immigration officer who is a professional, will create an email letter such as the one they have sent me. My friend suggested to contact the canadian embassy here. To which I did via email.

I have decided to play along and see what will happen while I wait for the embassy's reply. If I don't hear from the embassy this week. I will mostly likely go there next week. But today, I have recieved an email from the nursing home that they have already booked a ticket for me as this is a requirement at the embassy in order to get a visa. It's a connecting flight, from bkk to beijing then beijing to canada. I doubled check it via the internet and it's there but when you check it via respective airlines, the booking is not there. I don't understand. Should it be like that?

The nursing home didn't asked for money and when I asked them if I need to pay for something or if they are going to charge me, they said no. That they will handle the ticket and the other expenses. All I have to worry about is the visa fee here which I think is okay.

My worries is if this is fake and if they are not after the money, maybe they are after something else. A friend told me a story about a girl who was recruited here by a farang and she didn't pay for anything. But when she arrived at their destination she was sold to be a sex slave. :S. Really scary. I would rather stay here or in my country and be poor than to encounter those kind of things.

Most of my friends keep on telling me that because of the email structure it's most probably fake. I don't know I feel confuse and scared at the same time. Can anybody help me with this? Enlighten me please on what I should do. An advise and help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

  11. I think when you say relationship there's love involve and love is about picking one person and making it work. If you can't pick one person, or you just wanted a whole lot of women in your bed, then it is not love nor can be called a relationship.

With all that said, YES! you have ruined it for yourself. :o

  12. it would be better if she just gets an exempt stamp once she arrives at suvarnabhumi. it would be more easier than getting her a visa in manila. besides she will only stay here for 7 days so i think 30 days exempt stamp is more than enough for her. she need to get a 2 way ticket. they will not let her check in in manila airport if she only have 1-way. plus if shes flying via a cheap airline make sure she has at least 10k baht with her and a invitation letter from you. most officers in manila ask a lot of questions if you are flying via cheap airlines and they usually ask if she have show money with her, what she's going to do here, how long she will be staying. mostly like that. but it never happened if you are flying via thai airways or other expensive airlines.

i hope this helps. good luck.

  13. I'm sorry, I find this very hard to believe. I'm always in contact (through Internet forums) with other people who travel to Thailand with their Filipino GF's (and some GF's travelling alone to meet their BFs in Thailand), and I've never heard of anyone being asked to produce proof of funds at the airport. Are you sure you're not referring to the Thai Embassy in Manila which requires to see proof of funds for a tourist visa application.

Who checks the luggage? Where? At the airline counter when you check it in?

No not the embassy but I know they too asked for the show money. It had happened to me and to my other Filipino friends. I think it depends on which airline you are in. Most of my friends uses kuwait airways since they are cheaper. If you go by Thai air, they will not ask you this. I think.

The airport officers checks your luggage just before you check in. You can see them on front of the airport counter.

  14. But take a note, once she checks in, the officers at the manila airport will be asking her if she have 20k show money. Some will be okay if she said yes but others will ask her to show it to them.

This has never happened with my Filipino GF in 5 exits from Manila. i.e. she has never been asked to show money. I have heard of girls being asked to show hotel accommodation vouchers. There seems to be no end to the inconvenience the immigration officers at NAIA can put the Filipinos through when they try to leave, especially the young girls. It's all to do with their "altruistic" ideas of preventing "people trafficking".

They've been asking this since 2005. Maybe the reason your GF was never asked is because you were with her. You know the mentally of most Filipinos, if you are with a "kano" then you have the money.

It is really tough there. They checked everything. Even your luggage that you are going to check in. Very different from here. I dunno why.

  15. Johnny, one other point. I have heard from several people that the Thai embassy in Manilla is NOT a good place for anyone to try to get a visa. If you are there anyway you could give it a try, but shouldn't expect much. If you do try there, please post here your experience. Good luck.

Yes its true thai embassy in manila is very strict with regards to a Filipina going to Thailand. Even if she have the complete papers and money they required, they will still deny her the proper visa she needed(base from exprience). What she can do is to what had visarunner had mentioned, from suvarnabhumi airport get a 30 days visa exempt stamp and do border runs for 2 months.

But take a note, once she checks in, the officers at the manila airport will be asking her if she have 20k show money. Some will be okay if she said yes but others will ask her to show it to them.

  16. :D it is sad that some people here don't like PH. I understand that. PH is a good place actually (not because i am a filipino) just that most of us filipinos are thinking more of our own pockets than our own well being. Filipinos goes abroad to make a better life not just for themselves but also for the love ones they left behind. Not all filipinos are bad. if you happen to be with some filipinos who want to go back to be a big shot and screw everything that moves then you're in the wrong crowd of filipinos. yes we are jealous freaks but its because we are selfish when it comes to our man. well, at least not to the point where we have to put him on a leash :D.

please don't judge my whole country just because you had one time bad experience in one place. yes PH is in bad situation right now, i am not denying it but its not all that bad. try going to palawan, mindoro, cebu, batangas, baguio and other islands. about the food, well we all have different taste buds.

if PH's economy is same as TH or Sing, no filipino will ever leave PH just for money. ahhhm,... thats just me. maybe i should put up a traveling agency and show you guys around :o (with a shotgun on one hand, bomb detector on the other and with 10 bodyguards :D ).

  17. strong? no, i dont think so. im crumbling. BUT i am gonna be ok. they say what doesnt kill us makes us stronger, hey?

well, wonder woman look out! she now has a rival. (maybe i dont have the same figure as her, but strength wise, im gonna whip her ass).

i am sorry to hear about your pain donna. we actually have the same experience, just that mine lasted for 9 months and i only found out last xmas.

yes, it truly hurts. my friends (good thing i have friends here) told me to just move on and try to forget everything. well, easier said than done.

and to read a story like this makes me wonder why the good girls ended up with the wrong guyz and good guyz ended up with wrong girls. weird :o i guess, thats just how the way it goes :D .
