I'll be returning to Thailand next month. Before going home to CM I want to fly directly from Suvarnabhumi to Phuket but don't want to lug along my 25-kilo suitcase with me. As I will be staying there for only a short time I intend to take only my backpack and computer bag with me.
Has anybody ever posted a suitcase from the Post Office at Suvarnabhumi as a domestic parcel?

The extension of my Non-Immigrant O based on being >60 will expire by the end of this month. However, I need another 2 months in LOS to see to some matters before I travel back
to Europe by the end of April, where I intend to apply for a Non Imm O-A (retirement) at the Thai Embassy in my home country.
Can I travel to, say, Vientiane just before the end of this month and apply for a SETV to bridge this 2-month period?

Ditto in Udonthani

I despair at the proverbial whimsicality of Thai embassies.

YMMV. Last year I wanted to do the same, but the Thai Embassy in The Hague refused to accept my application, saying I could NOT appply for a new Non-Immigrant O visa while the one I had was still valid. I had to wait till the old one had expired.

Just out of curiosity, Ima_Farang, where you legally married to and living with an Ethiopian/Turk/Saudi in her house (that was actually paid for by you)?
Different situations, different settings, methinks.
'No can compare,' my wife would say.

Whether you have to the report every time you return depends upon the immigration office you make the report to. The majority of offices do not require them unless you change your address.
My wife just called a friend of ours who is an Immigration Officer in Nongkhai and he said that I have to go through the rigmarole every time I reenter the Kingdom.
This Thai "discretion of the Immigration Officer" is a real pain in the nether parts.

Having a yellow house book does not change the requirements for the TM30.
That's too bad.
Such a hassle if you travel abroad frequently like I do.

Does your wife still have to go through this TM30 routine if you have a Yellow Book?

So thats why Thai's aren't learning English that explains it all.
Er ... so you also have English that doesn't explain it all?
Er, could you translate that into English?
Well, since you insist:
So that's why Thais aren't learning English. That explains it all.

BTS to Mochit. A1 bus to Don Muang airport. The bus stops outside the MRT station Chatuchak
I advised my friend to do so. He called me today and told me it was a good suggestion.
However, he took a taxi (100 baht) from Morchit to DM after having waited in vain for the A1 bus for almost half an hour.

What is the best (easiest/quickest) way to get from Ploenchit to Don Muang Airport apart from taxis?

Thai Embassy The Hague (NL): double only.

No problem the bridge is open until 10 pm 365 days a year.
You will probably be charged an extra 100 baht for the Lao visa for overtime.
I'm assuming ur new to SEA but if you play it cool - get your passport back, usually then ur asked for an extra $1-$2 depending on how naive u appear.
I'll go out on a limb and hazard the guess that you're the newbie to SEA. The weekend surcharge is, and has long been, pretty much standard at Lao border posts.

Oh, no! Just for a second I thought today was April 1 (April Fool's Day) when reading this story!
And you call yourselves a NEWS media??? Rather a propaganda machine I would say. Enough to make one squirm!

Pretty good advice from the Ministry, methinks.
Otherwise some Thais might run the risk of becoming as delirious as many of the posters on this forum.

I have flown Dusseldorf-Dubai-Bangkok on Emirates with a single ticket.
When the clerk at the check-in counter saw that I had a single ticket, he asked me if I had a visa. I showed him the double entry tourist visa in my passport and it was accepted without any problems.

Who called you a liar??? Not me, anyway.
I for one was not aware that this query had been posted and dealt with extensively before, and from reading the reactions it doesn't seems that others were. Why did you have to open a new topic for the very same situation, or at least refer to the old topic?

Strange that nobody has noticed that this topic is just a replay of this thread:

I remember that post too, but I couldn't find it back.
However, it did raise doubts and that was the reason why I opened this topic.

I agree whole-heartedly with every single word you wrote. As I posted earlier in this thread, I thought the suggestion that passengers were stamped out on the date of their flights was quite illogical and impractical.
However, as that assertion was made, I made the last post to put this issue beyond any doubt once and for all.

I've found the evidence I was looking for. I'm posting my findings so that people in the same situation will be able to find it when they need it.
Ignore scaremongers and hypotheticals!
I've happened to actually meet somebody who's regularly used the same 01:50 flight that I'll be taking. He's checked for me in his passport and it showed that every single time he was stamped out on the actual day that he was going through Immigration and NOT the day of the flight.
