Of course, another reason for needing to obtain a Thailand TIN is that many foreign banks in other jurisdictions (eg UK offshore banks) require this from Thailand tax residents when opening an account or continuing to operate an account from within Thailand. Similarly required by UK HMRC when filing a tax return there as a not-ordinarily resident with UK tax obligations.

Yes, exactly, CMBob, seems very inconsistent. Nothing was said at the drive-through 90-day report window this morning either, but when we popped into the TM 30 office just behind, they said we needed to update.
Re the 90 days, the online app rejected the application and said we couldn’t do online after registering at a hotel in another province away from home, then the Samui IO wouldn’t let us do it there. Said we had to do in our home province.
I blame the smoke and dust, or is it mirrors?
-
While at CM Immigration today for a last minute 90-day report, we thought we’d just double-check that we didn’t need to update our TM30 after a smog-escape trip down to the beach, as we’d been told (by IOS) was the case after a few recent trips inside and outside the country.
Turns out an update IS necessary and only needed our passports and the old TM30 slips.
And just in case anyone needs a heads up on the 90-days report, it can’t be done online if you’re away from home in another province. Or at the IO in that other province.

I used a swift transfer from a uk bank in December as Wise recommended that. Watch out for the new tax situation from Jan 1st which could mean a large tax bill on such large transfers if you’re staying here over half the year.

It’s right at the back, John. Is there no other bike parking at the other end?

Can confirm the new CP TM office is up and running. It seems to be a full service office. (Well, as full a service as before the move.). The office is at the W end of the complex, ‘behind’ the passport office. You need to leave the main building and cross the road into the carpark. (Difficult to describe!)

Thanks, Stefan. I’ll check it out.

Hi all. Refugee from the Chiangmai Hiking group here in CR on and off until end January. Interested in finding hiking buddies, trails, tips. The higher the better (trails, not hikers!)
PMs welcome as well as replies here. See you up a hill somewhere.

Just checked again. You are right. Sorry for the misinformation. The hybrid info was right down the bottom of the Toyota webpage and I didn’t get that far. Hope I didn’t put any potential buyers off.
-
Thanks for the reply, TT. I notice on the Toyota Thailand that this hybrid model is no longer for sale in the country. I wonder how long they will continue to support it. A little beyond my budget too, I’m afraid. Good luck with the sale.

Hi. Did you manage to sell the car yet? Just wondering how often this kind of car needs new batteries?

Is that where the MUFC faithful congregate, mikebell?

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Anywhere in Jomtien too?

Anyone got suggestions for a venue where visiting NUFC fans can watch tomorrow’s final together?

Ready to reduce to 130,000 baht. Any biker takers? If not a dealer has offered me close to that.

Forgot to say that the bike is in Chiang Mai.

Reluctant sale and low price as leaving the country. Wonderful bike in excellent condition. 99% on-road riding. Most photos from last year (not mileage!); will update with more after a wash. Green book. Taxed & insured. Recent service/oil change. Options added: rack, quad lock mount with vibration damper, anti-vibration grips, windscreen wind deflector. Mesh seat cover. Cable lock. Additions to the basic tool kit provided. Compass. Optional top box and two helmets, compass.

I wonder if the transport authority will accept an original residency certificate plus a copy of it for the renewal of a motorcycle and car license, or will they insist on 2 originals. Same thinking for the medical certificate.
Does anyone have experience of this please? I'm hoping one original plus a copy will suffice but I never take anything for granted with paperwork in TH.
Yes, should be ok. Was last few times for me.

Gonna reduce the price again to 68,000 or near offer. Will try edit above but not sure if possible.

Good luck with the sale. Make sure you have the proof of address docs needed for the transfer of ownership. (Currently a 50 day wait if you need a certificate of residence from immigration.)

Ok, topt, poor wording on my part. The non-residence form asks for other tax residences, and a TIN, rather than requires it.
