  1. Why in Thailand the law is

2008, Thailand announced further restrictions that came into force on 10 February 2008, in that smoking would be banned (indoors and outdoors) in establishments open to the public, including restaurants, bars, and open-air markets. Members of the public face a 2,000 baht fines for not complying, and establishments face a 20,000 baht fine for not enforcing the ban (including not displaying mandated 'no smoking' signs). In addition to fines, those who fail to comply may be arrested.

So why are bars still have smoking and dont have no smoking signs

  3. When someone on a motor bike is stop by the police and for not having a helmet on and no license they are find 200 for no helmet and 400 then they go to the police station and pay then go back to where they were stop give the paper work to the police man and they take the bike and carry on does that make sense and a lot that may die this year will have no license and should not been driving and it the same if the same person is stop the next day and to all who do die I hope they R.I.P

  4. If nobody wants to sell sex, it is a crime to force anyone to do so. But when men or women do want to sell their bodies, they should have that full right without encountering punishment or discrimination. If the client behaves decently, the relationship between the sex buyer and the sex seller must be considered a purely private transaction.

No problem with that. Prostitution is worldwide where there are legal brothels visited by the desparate and lonely. In Thailand it is out in the open, move it into brothels and behind closed doors away from public view. The sex tourist can enter the brothel, dump his load and move on. The girls won't be druugging the victim inside a brothel where he will pass out for hours as they need the bed for the next punter. The punter won't be fleeced of all the valuables unless he is stupid enough to take them all to the brothel. A brothel would be more controlled

Prostitution is illegal in most counters and here in Thailand most of the girl would not work in bars and go with men a lot do because they need the money to send home to there families you thing about it a girl working in a building site that I know gets 130 baht a day for working 12 hrs I don’t know any flaring that would do that

  5. :(

"the Immigration Bureau has asked to see proof of at least two months of pension income."

    So what does that mean?

two months pension income received somewhere?

two months pension income transferred into a Thai bank?

transferred in within what time period?

    :(

What if income is not pension income but investment income? To be treated the same way?

pension income or at least 65.000 Baht per month?

does it mean that only pension and not other income

  6. Why is the no smoker ban in bars not enforce and help non smokers because the Public Health Ministry figures show tobacco kills 1.2 million people in Asia and 5.4 millions worldwide every year -

  7. Surely time to criminalise tobacco and alcohol consumption in Thailand. The country cannot afford the number of people dying from the abuse of these substances. :jap:

well if this info is right you have a very good point

Smokers violating the ban and proprietors who do not put up warning signs could face a fine of up to 2,000 baht. Those who do not provide smoking areas as required by the public health announcement could face a fine of up to 20,000 baht and
