  1. Its about time the Thais were able to decide for themselves. I disagree to most of this and I have been married to a thai for 6 years.

Visas have been mis-used for many years. Retirement visas should be limited to the age of the expats pension age, eg UK at 65. You cannot be retired at 59, just escaping into another country for whatever reasons because you have nothing to do in your own country.

Ok so i am a UK Expat and married to a thai and i recevie my pension in 8 months november of this year at the ripe age of 40, so therefore i can be retired at an age less than 65. So your facts are somewhat wrong if indeed they are facts obviously not.

and i think the remark just escaping to another country because u have nothing to do in your own country is total <deleted> and does not apply to every person.

So at the age of 40 i will be drawing a pension and moving to thailand to b with my wife just a shame that i cant actually get a retirement visa which is probably down to the short sightedness of people thinking that legally retiring before the age of 65 is not possible when it actually is.

  2. I think the low end nuvis dont do this.. Its easily viewable in the feature matrix..

Most Nuvis are capable of using track log its just that some of the 200 series have this locked. It is easy enough to unlock and activate the tracking. Just search on google for nuvi 200 track log and you will find all you need to unlock this feature. It basically involes a firmware upgrade or downgrade depending on which current firmware you have.

  3. Hi wondering if anyone can help or has any info on this place.

Found it while driving around ratchaburi, asked the wife who lives 20 minutes away from it and she had no idea about it.

At first when got to Khao Ngu it seemed to be just full of monkeys but with a name like Khao Ngu Adventure park i thought there would have been more to offer.

Found out a little about it from old tourist brochures and it was at one time a Rock Climbing / Absailing area with built in climbing facilitys. Had a look around and even did a little bit of climbing.

Anyone know when this place opend and when it closed.

Also would be curious as to whether or not i could just go there hook up to the swr and climbing attachments there and just climb.

Was sort of directed to a site called Proclimber Thailand but drew a total black page there.

Anyone help, this place has some excellent climbing features and even has a couple of death slides still all hitched up, all are well secured into the rock surfaces.

Asked the wife to ask the Thai tourist lady at the start of Khao Ngu but she wasnt really helpful just said it had closed.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  4. Hi Stretch163

Apologies for that. We did receive your emails. Due to the weekend, bank holiday Monday and a hole in my software the emails didn't receive high enough priority and the appropriate staff weren't alerted. (no excuse really).

Your booking has already been made and confirmed with the rental company. Your voucher is on its way and you will receive it in the next hour or so.

Again, sorry for that slip we'll do better next time!

    All the best

    Mick

    Thanks Mick much appreciated.

Voucher received and look forward to dealing with you again.

  5. Hi all anyone used the Thai visa Car Rental portal with any success.

Im due to hit thailand in 3 days and booked a car using this site over 2 weeks ago. Everything going sweet got good price got confirmation, paid promptly.

The subsidury search engine is fastcarhire.co.uk.

Received all my info from them and log into my account say all paid and 2 weeks later im still waiting on a pre paid voucher. sent numerous emails and messages over the last 4 days and received not 1 Reply. Even sent messages to the contact on Thai visa car rental site and guess what no reply.

Is it just me or anyone else had problems.

If i was running a website with the less than satisfactory results id take a look at it. This site does so much good to be spoiled by something like this.

I dont think its to much to ask for a reply.

Hopefuly someone from ThaiVisaCarRentals will read this and possibly contact me.

  6. Hi all just trying to find out what my best approach is to get an extension on my Non im O (multiple entry visa). Or am i best just renewing Non im O.

Details already married to Thai wife but due to nature of my work she is staying in thailand. I visit as often as i can and intend to move there to live in 2 years. Only be 40 so retirement visa is out but needless to say i dont plan on doing any work.

Will be appllying for visa for her on my next trip just trying to sort out paperwork especially with new forms coming out end of the month.

Will it be a problem applying for just a visitor visa rather than a settlement visa because we already married or wont this make any difference ?

Wife will only be coming to visit when im in the UK and Staying with me at parents house. So dont need settlement visa.

Can i get extension because of marriage if so how would i go about this ?

Or should i just keep going with the Non Im O and wait till i finally move out to thailand ?

    All help greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks Ian

  7. Hi, Everyone

Does anybody know roughly how much the locals earn a week in wages for jobs like

Factory worker, waitress or a super market worker or any other jobs like this

    thanks andy

Factory Wages in Ban Pong not very good my Wifes sister gets on average 4 to 5k baht a month for 6 days a week. She does get a bit more with OT but then your talking about a 10 to 12 hour shift.
