I know there are schools that teach Thai and you can get a ED Visa on the back of this but does any know of any schools that teach Mandarin or a teacher that does.
Pretty sure in BKK this would easier to find but here in Samui - not so sure.
Thanks for your help

I recently upgraded to TOT fibre optic thinking this would be a good idea.
My old line was ok but as I was using Netflix via a VPN (unblock US) and was suffering some buffering issues - Fibre optic seemed a good idea.
Now I cannot view Netflix at all as it seems to be blocked despite the great help from TOT....The answer I got was I only know normal computers not Mac's...
Any one have any issues using Fibre Optic with TOT and a similar situation??
Thanks in advance for any guidance

Sent from my SM-G900F using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
I need to do a VISA bounce in the next ten days.

Successful trip this week - all done
For those on a Non B Work permit doing a renewal for a five year DL as follows:
Signed Copy passport
Signed Copy of Work permit
Health certificate from Hospital.
No need for pictures on a renewal
Get there early and take a number off the hook and wait to be called. Brush up on your Thai numbers.
Once submitted wait till around 10.00/10.30 to do the tests. Colour test, stop test, peripheral vision test and the vision test where you make to lines equal.(don't know the name)
Pass - you get told which counter to submit the docs to & go down stairs. Five minutes later your new 5 year passport is in your hands. Cost for bike and car Bt 960 in total.
Can't express how important it is too look the part. Shirt and trousers only as its sets you apart from most down there & makes your life easy.

Was just chatting with a friend back home who sprung the surprise that he visited Samui in 1999 & stayed at a place called Viking Apartments.
Are they still there? In his own words - "best time of my life" He's curious to know.
Ideas anyone.

Police are all over the place with helmet checks now and fine has been upped. It's only a matter of time that helmet wearing gets on par with Phuket.
Do you really think so ??
Never seen a late night helmet check in more than 11 years here,
Maenam Police stop yesterday and then Bophut today!
Maybe you're a good boy and wear your helmet!!!!!!
Dear All,
My posting earlier was just to pass on a really horrible occurrence. That could have been me or any one of us. Nothing more. I live and work here so understand Thai way/style (don't get involved) but to actually see it in real - its different.
In any case - I hope my posting to this forum will help/make/think may be just one person will pick up that crash helmet when they leave home and return with minor injuries after surviving a crash.

Wear a helmet!! That is my posting.
Last night as I was heading home I saw two bikes on the other side of the road clip each other outside the Samui Palm Beech Resort (Near the Ibis Hotel). One bike was travelling faster as it came from behind and as its past the slower bike it hit (only slightly) and pushed the rider and the bike over. Unfortunately. the riders head bashed straight against the big road side kerb stones and to make matters worse the bike landed on top of the rider whilst moving along the storm drains till coming to a rest. No helmet - not a pretty sight and no movement.
Yes - I always wear a helmet and hopefully this message serves as a gentle reminder how quick things can happen here that are no fault of our own.
I leave it to you all to make your own conclusion about wearing a helmet but after seeing this - I wanted to share.

Looking to do a visa run from Samui this week - sometime between 2nd July and the 5th - anyone else going?
-
Basically - i wanted to buy a 20ft one but could not get it down the Soi. So looking to get two 10ft containers.
Its to put valuables inside which we will lock up at night so a shipping container is ideal for this.
Rather than build a shed - its ready made and can be moved in the future
Any ideas?

Any one know how to improve the mobile signal?
We are based in the usual shop house building and the telephone reception is poor at best.
I've read about boosting the signal with a repeater but has anyone tried this. How do they work? What do you do ?
Doubt AIS will be able to help
Thanks

Hi guys, we have made a lot of progress with building Walen Samui and he hope to be open for business on the 15th of June but cannot guarantee as we do not have all papers yet. Construction is not easy on the island but almost completed also. This is all very exciting. Now we also have a team ready to take good care of Walen students.
Walen School - knowledge is power, learn and earn!
Is the school still planning to open on 15th
thanks
