  1. I changed the tires on my 2018 Ranger from BF Goodrich to Bridgestone Duelers............it's like day and night. I rarely drive off road but the Goodrich tires in both wet and dry conditions were a nightmare to stop on the tarmac............Since putting on the Dualers my confidence level is back to where it should be. If anyone else is having issues stopping with the BF Goodrich take a look at the Duelers.

I have no affiliation with any of these tire guys I'm just a regular guy hanging out in Phuket

Still no Raptor owner has replied ?

I'm supriced many looks at it as a overkill or luxury buy beyond "normal".

It is on par with what the Fortuner brigade pays for their stuff, which is pretty common here !

Anyway I have made my choice, and was just asking if anyone could confirm a good experience with it.

Im sure power and suspension will be fine.

I have been using a 2016 Hilux 4x4 as a daily at work for 2 years and this is the stiffest most uncomfortable thing on uneven roads I have ever driven.

t is actually so stiff empty, it is close to being dangerous to drive.

I choosed the Raptor over SUV's that are 3-4 times more expensive (actually my test driver did), so if it's only bling factor we are after , we may have screwed it up.

There all just jealous mate. Don’t worry about it. Join the Thailand For Raptor FB group. It’s mainly in Thai but if you ask in English you will get honest non jealous remarks

im getting one next week and looking very much forward to it.

  3. Question

im looking at changing my stock Ford Ranger wheels and tires to 16” rims with 265/75/R16 ATS tires. I’m also thinking of lifting it another 1 inch. The bigger tires will lift it about 1 1/2 inches already. The tire shop has s simple spacer kit that will add about an inch and a quarter so total including tires is about 2 3/4”. The spacer kit is B3500.

Has anyone tried this method and if so how is it?

  4. I will have a play with the missus' 2011 Accord and see what can be scoped out also.

Personally I don't even have a car (MRT fan) but I will hijack hers and poke around a bit. There's a USB port I will plug into and see if we can shed some light on this. If they are Garmin maps that would be awesome (could save a lot of money).

Great; I am stuck on an oil rig in the middle of Angola right now and wont be back in Thailand for a month or so, so any info up front would be great

    Thanks again

  5. The Unit in the 2011 Accord is not Garmin, it's NAVTEQ. But there are 6 flavours of Accord in the Thai Market. Separately Honda offer a GPS accessory on all their models which may be a Garmin...

The 2.0 NAVI and 2.4 NAVI nodel have the NAVTEQ unit built in. They told me it only comes with Thai Maps.

As far as I know NAVTEQ is a digital map provider, if they also sell the actual GPS unit that would be something new. However, NAVTEQ does currently supply the maps for Garmin.

so does that mean I can add a Malaysian map to it or not, its a 2011 2.4 Honda Accord??

    Thanks

If it's a Garmin GPS you have four choices:

    1. Contact ERSI (Thailand) Co. Ltd. and ask them if you can add maps and how. They will have provided the original map and are the Garmin representative in Thailand. Customer Care: 0-2266-9948 e-mail: [email protected]

    2. Buy a Garmin City Navigator Southeast Asia NT map on a "plug & play" microSD/SD pre-programmed datacard.

    3. Download City Navigator Southeast Asia NT map from the Garmin website to a microSD/SD datacard..

    4. Download City Navigator Southeast Asia NT map from the internet and generate your own unlock code.

NOTE: Steps 2-4 are not guaranteed until you try. A couple of previous posters have reported success in adding a map to a Garmin GVN installed GPS, but it can take quite a bit of computer work depending on the required unlock codes.

Thanks for your help, I will let you know how I get on.

  7. Certainly would need to know what brand GPS comes with the Accord. Have you tried asking the Honda dealer your questions? GPS units and maps are usually proprietary to the auto manufacturer when installed as factory original equipment.

My wife just contacted them and its a Garmin map. Not sure if its on a SD card though.........................too much over my wifes head to get into this, I will see if anyone else knows

    Thanks

  8. Guys,

Please can anyone tell me what map they have in the New Honda Accord. My wife is buying it and wants to take it on a trip to KL and she wants to know if it comes with a ONLY Thailand map or is it a Asia Map............if Thailand only is it a Garmin or Speed Navi map and can you put a new map on a SD card???

    Thanks in advance

  9. don't have an answer to your question, but is that your car in your sig?
I have never heard of these here--other than near the airport. Otherwise, I think they are called 'short-time' rooms.

    Best of luck.

Yep I know of the short time rooms but I need something for 6 hours and something nice.

  12. Ndwgolf, you already told us you have an earlier model (week 43 right?) but answer this please: when you opened your box, did it already have firmware 1.1.2 or did it come with something like 1.1.1 and you upgraded it to 1.1.2?
