in the UK Johnson has decided to take the gamble, assume future variations are not significantly worse than omicron and return thee country to pre covid times.
If he is right then its over, if he is not the UK will be the first to suffer as any significant new variation takes hold.. watch this space..

we are travelling back to Thailand in July for an extended holiday with two kids under 13, I had made an assumption that the usual travel insurance bought in the uk would suffice, they all claim they provide covid cover, my wife who accesses some uk thai facebook groups is reporting problems some people have using the Thailand pass portal as its rejecting some well know UK insurance policies(post office & AA), is this a common problem or I am i being misled?

I received an email this morning notifying me that my 3rd July booking London to Bangkok has Been cancelled, my wife’s saying there are reports of cancellations well into July. No offer of alternative flights, just advised to contact agent or Thai customer services.
I had July internal flights cancelled a couple of weeks ago and the best response I,ve had from Thai Is that refunds will take up to six months. -

Running legitimately? I don't think so. Looks like Great Thai restaurant used to be there..
Still not convinced? Let's look at their other address...in a residential apartment; 174 Bradstowe House
In this case, it seems the buyers just bypassed every possible safety net open to them.
Ignorance is bliss until the poop hits the fan.
I agree, but they were issuing valid tickets up until a few days ago, I would never use such a site.. my wife in on the phone right now to friends affected.. the friend saw her booking via thai airways site a few weeks ago and thought all was well...

It seems the company booked and paid for flights via Thai, issued tickets and then cancelled them, got refunds without notifying customers..

Why would anyone book with them anyway?
No sign of ABTA/ATOL/IATA....nothing. No excuse for giving money to such a shoddy operation.
Indeed, they had been running legitimately for a couple of years and gotten themselves a good reputation, but it’s all unravelled. Some very distraught families being caught out at Heathrow wanting to travel for Easter/songkran, we fly out tonight but booked direct with Thai..

It seems in the last few days people are turning up at the airport with invalid/fake bookings.. the company itself is not contactable..I assume the media will catch up soon enough.

Lots of reports in U.K. that people booking flights via Bestdeal flights have been ripped off and no valid tickets have been issued, anyone booked via them needs to check with Thai Airways immediately..

A report is due every time you spend the night somewhere different than your registered address with Marriage Extension in Mukdahan, but can do it online - easy as pie
Thanks for the reply, I,m just visiting on a tourist visa, do you have the link to the online form?

Sounds like a lot of Thai nonsense, I,m staying at our Thai home in Khemmerat for three weeks, is Ubon or Mukdahan where I will waste half a day on this?

My wife is reading Facebook posts saying farang visiting and staying with family in Thailand have to register otherwise a fine Is issued?
So we go to our Thai home next week for a month. For the past 10 years this has never been an issue, if it’s now required, what’s the simplest way of doing it?

OP as some have posted, you are in position of having readily available non o that would suit your needs. Forget convoluted plans re border entry points etc suggested. 3 visits a year (most likely because still working home country). Coming for quality time to visit wife and lids. Using TV and VE? What the!
Thanks for the reply, we do live and work in UK and are fortunate enough to be able to travel during school breaks, the wife and kids are also based in UK, I have always enjoyed the simplicity of tourist visas and always enter via main airports the rest of the family have both Brit and Thai passports.

I,ve come across reports in other forums where claims are made that Thai immigration are saying people have 'too many' Thai visas in their passport, be it 30 day or 60 day, is this new or common, if so what is too many?
I am married with two Thai/English kids and visit two or three times a year, should I be worried?

That's some weird love triangle..

My thai wife has an indefinite leave visa in a previous passport and we have regularly travelled in and out of the UK with her carrying the old passport with the visa and her new passport.
She has come across reports/rumours of this no longer being valid, I have had contradictory advice from UK officials and it seems that the final view was 'its down to imigration control' on the day we travel.
Has anybody else experienced problems or aware of any changes for Thais?

I,ll be in Ubon is July for a month and the ister in law is offering her car for my use, anyone familiar with getting short term insurance and any recomendations?
I usually use the car hire firms but this seems like a much cheaper option.

Can,t really comment on Avis specifically but at least you used a reputable dealer and insurance, i,ve used Budget dozens of times, couple of reverse bumps but always dealt with by insurance with nothing more than a smile.
Keep us updated.

Yeah, the roads suck here. So do the drivers.
Why is there nothing reported on the Koh Tao trial taking place now?
UK sky news reporting their Thai interpreter helping report the case was threatened by thai mafia and has resigned... They got to Thai visa as well?
Prescription medicines available in Thailand?
