Several places like this exist in Chiang Rai. Many say that drug deals or dealers went down and caused this situation.

TOT has a new promotion program. I am still on the 599 program but the service is greatly improved during the past 2 months.

I purchased the Taiwan made 6.5 hp with long term guarantee on labor and 60 days on parts. I have not used the pump yet but for my limited needs I think that 4500 Baht investment is OK.

Does anyone know if UPS or other international courier services deliver to Chiang Rai.
Thanks.

As I am here every day and no one has ever made a comment about our food or service I accept this as pure BS from those who would not know a good meal if they ate one.
Our cooks have an average of 8 years working here under direction of some of the best chefs from Europe and America. We have operated this business for 11 years which is a lot longer than most of the other fly by night places. We also grow and process our own tender grain fed and aged 21 day beef.
Regarding our service, we have used hand held computers to order food and beverage for the past 9 years. Khun Elle who has lived in the UK for 20 years is our dinning room manager and speaks perfect English and has not reported problems to me.
We have the longest running Saturday night barbecue in Thailand serving 20 items of food and changing each week.
If you are encouraged by other competitors to slander some one else then that is another issue.

Can we count on not being choked to death by smoke or do we need to bring a mask. I am hoping to be there and working on my schedule.
Best wishes.

Average Bangkok Pork prices from government approved suppliers is 120 Baht. Look for further increases. The price quotations come out weekly which prevents any long term planning. Non governmnet approved farms and processing plant beef or pork is dangerous. Much of the beef has been smuggled live. There are no government approved slaughter houses in the south of Thailand.

Many of you have noticed that there has been a 30-40% increase in the price of pork. Watch for chicken and beef to also go up. I think that it is safe to relate these price increases to the following:
- Claim of pig Cholora by at least one grower.
- Increase in oil prices
- Big increase in animal food prices due to the people using corn and tapioca to make gasahol. This creates a shortage of animal food.
- Suppliers testing the new government and their will to inforce the price controls
- Shortage of palm oil as it is also being used to make gasahol.
Overall for this year you may expect general food prices to increase from 15-30%.
The government is trying to bring pork prices down but I don't think they will be able to do so.
Many things in Thailand are expensive now.

The back packing hippies love to help do work at the Wat as they get to share in the left over food. They can also sleep free there.
