THAI's BKK-LAX route was a loser from the get-go. They charged twice as much for the flight than any other carrier, with the only selling point being that it was a non-stop flight. It should have been scrapped years ago.

I flew LAX - BKK twice, in 1999 and 2000. I think that was during the Amazing Thailand campaign. Back then the price was excellent and the connection flight (SFO to LAX with UA) was even included. But I agree, in the last couple of years the TG fares have been utterly overpriced.

Two of your buddies going back taking 9,999 each?

Splitting amounts into smaller amounts to avoid reporting requirements is "money structuring" which is also ilegal.

It has been pouring down like crazy for more than 12 hours now.

I have never seen anything like this.

People of my hotel really look concerned.

But luckily the rain slowed down a few moments ago and even stopped now ::-)

Hi,

I knew something is going in Lamai Inn since I got the information from the stuff that there is some construction going on near by. However, when I asked for details I did not get any response. Made me suspicious somehow!

To the Spa: I know this is quite a place to stay, especially the one at the beach. But there is also construction going on. Fair as the Spa management is, it has been announced on their website.

I'll gonna checkout BT mansion or Hathai.

I'll be in Lamai shortly and plan to stay for about 12 days.

I am not sure yet in which hotel I gonna stay. There are quite a few to choose from. I defintely do not want to stay next to a construction area.

Does anyone have current information if and where major constructions are going on in Lamai?

In case I take a hotel w/o swimming pool, are there possibilities to use the pool in certain hotels (w/ or w/o fee)?

I already have a few places in mind: BT mansion, Lamai Inn 99, Hathai House? Any comments to these?
