  1. I have been involved in may gland packing operations in the early 70’s.

A relativly simple job and done a quay side. My boss and the local ship yard

worked out a very simple and cheap way of stopping the water coming up the shaft as they changed packing. We dove down with a longish roll of neoprene

wraped it around the hub and shaft, the water pressure did the rest, propably about an hour to re & re this blanket.

  2. I do have this car, had it 7 months. Out of all that is available in that range

it is the best looking and the only one that felt right when I sat in it. Even more so when I drove it.it is quicker and faster than all the others, the handeling is superb.

Not a family car in my mind, I will not let my wife drive it.it could get you into trouble very quickly.

without kicking in the turbo it is quick. use S mode it can be scary. It will hit red line

before you can move your eyes to read the tach. In this mode the computer does not do the shifting the driver must do. How fast it will I don't know, I only done 180 in it. The electric power steering is great. Turning circle is good brakes are fine. The automatic parking I hate. Head lights for me are piss poor halogens and no options.

Drivers seat comfortable and good support , the others I don't know or care I don't sit in them, boot space fits my golf clubs so that is ok. The cabin noise quite low

ride comfort is perfect for spirited driving, my Mrs. says it is not as smooth as her CRV . I disagree it is quieter smoother and steers better. Any way I bought the car for me f------- any one else.

  3. The powers that be did cancel the event but a few days later had another meeting

and the event will only be 4 days 17, 18 19 and 20' Thursday Friday Saturday and Sunday.

There is to be a special event to respect the King.We have a relative who works in

the office that looks after this kind of stuff in Surin

  4. We had our CRV since new 2010 now just coming up to 100,000km I have never be offered an A/C cleaning until about 3 weeks ago. We had water dripping in to the front passenger side. We went to dealer showed problem, first thing he said when was the last A/C clean. Doh never. Any way they cleaned it stopped the leak and air is colder now.
We need to stop thinking in western terms regards life expectancy of certain vehicle parts..DELETED

  5. Thailand is ok. It appears that the Excited States of America is the only one not allowing.

I just sent money to NS&I today. Took 2 attempts because NS&I is not a bank as such, and

routes money thru City Bank, this fact caused my Thai bank KTB to question the transfer.

After phoning NS&I today and confirmed the above all seams ok.

  7. You would be correct there is a dedicated Cancer hospital in BKK close to Victory monument.

Unfortunately stomach cancer is very rarely detected I until well advanced. Read the American Cancer Society web site.

My friends wife mid 40 ,s has this diagnosed in January and was at stage 4... Whent to BKK for surgery to remove stomache after a lot of run around, They opened her up but 2 place had secondary cancer,, one being the liver in a spot inoperable. They did nothing

Sewed her up ,,, next step chemo @ 40.000baht each time. The course is 12 sessions. She had cancer insurance and is a government employee, but that does not cover all the costs.

I am afraid at 70 I doubt she is strong enough for any of this, Let her go with dignity and peace.

Almost forgot, need an MRI at least twice and this ranges in cost from around 16000 baht to 40000 baht a time location dependant.

  8. Yes the official Samsung repair centre for Buriram & Surin . Is directly across from the Majestic Hotel

At 99/7 Jitbumrung Rd Surin. About 2 min East of bus station. Can't miss it they have a sign 1/2 the size of the building. They are there for sure my next door neighbour.

  9. There are many such places if you are talking about Surin in Issan.....The Majestic Hotel has 2 such buildings, The Majestic apartments and the Majestic Twin. Both within a short walk to the bus station, western food etc.

Also you can look/ ask here. surinfarang.com. Or surin-expatsforum.services-thai.com.

  10. I need some help please.

I am a long legged American and I need to know if there is an airline that I can fly from New york to Bangkok with more leg room.

I cant afford first or business class. I know Eva air offers an upgraded seat in economy that is a bit wider (additional $400 r-t) but does it give more leg room? Any other information would be a great help.

    Thank you kindly

Yes the evergreen deluxe class seats are allmost the same size as business class but don't recline as far.I use this class often as well as business class. The outside seats are in pairs. You can select your seats from EVA website once you have a booking code. Join their loyalty program. It does pay of once you hit silver level you can book in at business class, save a lot of time. Plus some other perks that i like. Like the lounge. And giving me 3 seats in economy when nothing available in the better sests. I fly from Vancouver.
