Hi there,
I will land at Suvarnabhumi at 17:30 on a Monday, staying near the Shangri-la Hotel on the river. Am I going to save much time taking the train and BTS, or easier just to get in a taxi?
Many thanks

dont think so, i moved to patong in 85 and bangla was a sealed road
Fawlty towers was open in the late 80's on the soi leading to the titanic disco>on the left side
no idea when they had moved
End of bangla on left was nordic bungalows and than Doolies.
hang a left on 2000 year road an quick right to Expat hotel and the titanicJust asked a mate who was involved in Faulty Towers in the early days, he said it opened in Bangla in 86. Then the owner opened the Faulty Towers Inn in the Expart Hotel soi in 1990.
Maybe they were redoing the road but that photo is from 86 at the earliest.

If you apply online do you not still need to go to VFS in Bkk for the biometric data?

Thanks again. Does the child need to go to the embassy when we apply?

Thanks Steve, I was under the impression that the police check was done after application? And u need one from the Aussie police also? How do I go about that from Thailand?
Cheers

Hi all.... I'm about to join the que, will apply next week in Bkk. After 25 years here will look at moving back to Oz when the visas come through. Have been married for over 10 years, have two sons with Aussie passports, so no issues there. Will apply for a partner migration visa for the wife and also for her 14 year old Thai son who has lived with us since he was 2. Can i use one 47SP form for the both of them? Question 1 how many people are included in this application but then there isn't a section to fill in all his details other than section to list all her children.
Thanks in advance and will add my experience as the process comes along.

Hi,
Have a number of things I want to have done around the house, paving stones, filling cracks, painting, fixing wooden windows etc. Looking for a reliable local guy that will do a decent job. I speak Thai so doesn't need to speak English.
Any contacts.
Thanks.

Hi,
I'm wanting to adopt my wife's son who has been living with us since he was 2, now 7. Wife has sole custody of him but the father is still alive. Where do I start and what is needed to legally do this here in Phuket. Also if the above is possible how easy is it to get him an Australian passort, he would also have access to a New Zealand passport if that was easier.
Thanks

Hi,
My wife renewed her passport here in Phuket last month but it was only here in Phuket for 10 days and has moved on. You can find the dates and places online, not sure of the address. Best bet is a trip to Surat Thani.

Train or taxi from Suvarnabhumi
in Bangkok

Only have a small bag, not worried about saving money just whether it's enough of a time saver to take the train. If it's only going to be 10-15 min quicker I'll save the hassle and take a taxi.
