1. So I've done all this, logged in and made my report, only thing I'm concerned about is that I got no receipt after submitting, how do I know it's been processed? (I can search the submission and it shows).

Do I not need something to show when applying fory marriage visa after 45 days etc.?

Thanks

Firstly you need to register here: https://extranet.immigration.go.th/fn24online/
Select 'register' which will take you to the registration process.

Select 'Foreigner' on the first step.

Select 'Individual' in the second step.

At the bottom attach supporting documents.
Copy of Passport
Copy of Blue or Yellow Tabien Baan for the property.
Copy of Thai or Foreigners ID card.

After submitting you'll be sent an e-mail verification.

You then wait to be sent a user ID and password by email from your local IO.
On receipt of the above when trying to 'log in' you'll be requested to change your password.
To file further reports you can now 'log in', but will require the help of a Thai as the available options are predominately in Thai.

Thanks, don't have a house book so attached the rental agreement. Will see if that works.

Thanks again for your help.

Do you share the residence with your landlord, or do you possess the house alone.

As the tenant you are also the possessor of the residence, you can complete, sign and file the form yourself, but should send signed copies of the landlords Tabien Baan and ID card.

Section 38 : The house – master , the owner or the possessor of the residence , or the hotel manager where the alien , receiving permission to stay temporary in the Kingdom has stayed , must notify the competent official of the Immigration Office located in the same area with that hours , dwelling place or hotel, within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the alien concerned.

Section 4. “ House Master ” means any persons who is the chief possessor of a house , whether in the capacity of owner , tenant , or in any other capacity whatsoever.

I did it that way for years, until I recently registered to file using the TM30 online method.

Very helpful thank you.

Could you please elaborate on the TM30 online method and H=how I would go about this?

Thanks

The TM28 is for registering a permanent change of address to Immigration.

The TM30 is a report of you arriving/returning at the registered address.

So as a tenant (the actual lease holder) you still need the landlord (owner) to fill in the form or you can do by yourself? I guess a House Master or Possessor of residence is the actual landlord and not the lease holder? (that's who has to sign the form)

5. My apologies if this is answered but I can't find anything on it.

What (if any) is the process of obtaining a visa to live in Thailand, I am currently living in Hong Kong with my Thai wife, we have been married for the past 12 years and living together here with our 3 daughters (all Thai passport/ID card holders). We got Married in HK not Thailand

I am 45 years old so do not qualify for the retirement visa, I have sufficient funds in the bank for my retirement, so how do I obtain a visa that will allow me to reside in Thailand?

Thanks in advance

6. Come on, what better ways are there to live out your days shacked up with a porn star? (if you're a man, then you have certainly wanted a porn star g/f at some stage in your life). He's more than likely worked hard all his life and is now having some fun, fair play, let him get on with it.

Two kinds of men in this world, those that want a porn star and liars!

7. I wonder if anyone could help me, I did not use my car for the past 18 months as I was away from Thailand so did not bother renewing the road tax last year, I've now returned and I'm being told (by my insurance agent) that I need to pay the past 12 months road tax (the period that my car was not on the road) and obviously the next 12 months road tax, is this correct?

Thanks in advance..

8. Gents,

Thanks very much for the information, I've decided on flying to Ubon Ratchathani on Air Asia and then renting a car, distance is around 350Klm. I was going to Udon Thani but the flight arrives around 1800 and I did not fancy driving at night, best to stick to day light I think considering I will be alone.

Thanks once again for all the information

9. Gents, can anyone advise what the best/quickest way to get to Buriram is from Phuket? I was thinking about flying to Udon Thani (Air Asia) and then hiring a car and driving but according to google maps it's 6 hours (350klm) which is pretty much more or less the same time it takes to get there from Bangkok.

Any ideas are welcome

Thanks

MC

10. I have not done Chumpon-Ranong, but heard it's quite nice route with hot springs near Wat TapoTharam worth visiting. There is a resort there as well.

My scenic route has been SuratThani-TakuaPa which cuts through the central mountain ridge of the peninsula with some spectacular scenery. This route is about 100km longer than through Ranong.

The fastest route to Phuket is SuratThani-Phanom-PhangNga which is around 1000km total BKK-Phuket, doable in around 10 hours including stops.

Yes, agree with this.

The Ranong route is quite slow (single lane each way, most of the time). It took me 10 hours from Hua Hin. It is not particularly scenic -- don't recall any sea views, as the vegitation blocks most views.

From the airport, I would head towards BKK, then take 9 to the south, onto 35 west, then 4 south as far as Chumporn, then 41 south towards Surat Thani, and take 44 south west before reaching Surat Thani. Then back on 4 to Phuket junction.

I hope you get some sleep on the plane, because a 10 hour drive in Thailand, is quite stressful.

I arrive the day before and will stay at the airport hotel. I am planning on splitting the drive over 2 days so hopefully it will nt be too bad.

11. Ok I know this has been covered in other posts but they are quite dated (2006). What is the best route to take? I'm planning on stopping over for the night in Ranong. Any suggestions of other/better stop over locations would be appreciated.

I would prefer the scenic route also, time is not really an issue.

I can't fly as need to move my car to my house there so that's not an option.

you get the best map on google maps

Thanks in advance.

I have been looking at that and it gives me the route on highway 4 but have read on here the best and most scenic route is 41, anybody know?
