Dear folks, anyone can recommend me a shop that specializes in servicing BMW besides the agents?
Want to compare prices first before parting my hard earned dole .
Thanks.

Dear all, my car has a flat battery. Bsi has just ended in Aug 17. Could I ask if I need to go back to agent to change battery or any battery shop outside will do?
Thanks and regards.

I see. Thanks. That would be the dry clutch.
Believe the Fiesta manual is a conventional 5 speed.
The Ecoboost Auto is the dual clutch 6 speed PowerShift.
-
The Ecoboost's gearbox is the dry clutch 6 speeder?

To thread starter, R has a bigger turbo and mkre tuning potential besides all those differences you've listed.

I bought the X1 diesel. Throw in Racechip and you will have a smile every time you drive. And its diesel, do visiting the gas station is not an issue.

I used google map to drive from pattaya to indera regent hotel in bangkok. It was easy and accurate excpet for the last part where it directed me to turn into a bus lane, instead of the usual roads. Overall, I would use it again unless I can find a long hair GPS.

Just got news that my daughter did not pass the admission exam to CMU. She will be going to Rajamangala University to pursue a B.B.A. in Business English. term starts in Aug 15. guess this is it. thanks for all the feedback and suggestions.

Thanks for the candid review. My personal experience is to take the piblished fuel consumption figures with a pinch if salt for Japanese and Korean made cars. The figures are usually not achoeveable under real world conditions.I bought the gas model with the larger engine and now have 10 k on it and over all not happy with the car
It is very noisy , the front shocks bag every time I go over a bump , the dash rattles constantly , there was a lose bolt that rattles around when I turn corners ( the dealer was at least able to fix that ) the black exterior trim is already fading for some reason , other then that it is alright
The one thing that I do like is the way the car corners when on the highway ,other then that I wish I would have waited and bought a Subaru

Thanks for all the excellent feedback. I think CMU has the edge.
My daughter is studying English in Lanna Commercial College in Chiang Mai. Her GPA for the past two years has been good, 4.0.
She is interested in English as a major. She is the high achiever kind.

Thanks, looks like CMU has some credibility.
In terms of location, but universities are located close to one another, the Suthep / Zoo area.

Hi Folks!
My daughter is in the midst of choosing a university for English Business and she has more or less narrowed down to two universities, Rajamangla and Chiangmai University.
Rajamangla: http://www.rmutl.ac.th/index.php?op=und&mode=bla
CMU: http://www.cmu.ac.th/eng_facts.php?dir_org_id=75
She has already passed the admission test for the first one. Before I advise her any further, I would like to seek opinions on the quality of education, teachers and learning environment and as a outcome, the employability of the graduates from both universities.
I was also told that she would have to pay the full tuition fees for Rajablanga first to secure the place, and if she later decides to switch to CMU, there is no refund of the tuition fee. Is this practise normal?
Thanks and best regards.

I think it is because you have been thinking about them so you become more sensitive to their presence

Use google map. Free.
I think it is possible to install the hardware GPS from Tom Tom and program the ECU to recognise the GPS. The integrated GPS will do Dead Reckoning based on vehicle speed and wheel turn angle when GPS signals are lost, unlike standalone GPS. But i susoect that there is No thai map for Tom Tom.

Mine is rear wheel drive. It handles superbly and power is adequate for the terrain, based on my drive from Bangkok to Chiangmai over 9 hours.

Ok, I have gone to Bangkok and bought a used BMW X1 Diesel from Millennium Auto. It has BSI till end 2017 and is 150, 000 baht more than the CX-5 Diesel. Guess I will not be looking at cars for a few more years till I am sick of my X1. Enough ranting....

decided that enough was enough and decided to quit the purchase of my CX-5, after two empty promises of delivery (last friday and today) with no clear delivery date in sight (wait a few more days they said) and waiting 5 months plus . Will be travelling to Bangkok to continue my hunt....sad that the shop does not want my business.

Mind sharing which dealer gave you the quote of 120k baht? My personal experience is similar, trade in to agent fetches better price than selling to 2nd hand car dealers.
Well the missus has just got back from the dealers, they offered us between 120-130k.I'm about to face this when I get back in a week or so.
I've asked the missus to ask one of these second hand car dealer places first. We have a Chevrolet optra 1.6L 2006 with around 100k on it. I would be very surprised if we were to fetch over 100k for it.

Used car dealer offered 80k.

Hi Thaiscot, is ithe shop near the international airport? The shop I bought from is the above.

yes. I suspect that too. When i wanted to take back my deposit, the Supervisor came out and apologise and loan us a Mazda 2 while he tries to source for another car. Said he will call on monday to update.^Wow, totally unacceptable, and not at all what I would expect from Mazda. Must be a bad dealer to try to pawn off that car to you.
And to share another unrelated thing, to withdraw more than 20000 bath per day from bank, you will need the pass book. Showing up in person us no use.

Ah yes. I was also attracted to Scirocco's looks and performance and handling when I bought the car. Over the last 3 years I have made several mods to enhance the driving experience. Think I will keep the car for a while more.
My favorite VW model in recent years and not available in the US. I have only seen one in Bangkok...a luxurious Black Oak.I drive a VW scirocco 2.0tsi by the way.

After waiting almost 5 months, I went to collect my CX-5 today. But there were dents and scratches on the car which could not be removed. The Sales acknowledged but said it is like this. They offer another car of different colour but have to wait
So now I am stranded with no car.
