  1. I’ve had two good implants done at the St.Louis Hospital Dental Clinic.  They are still chewing strong after a couple of years.  They used to cost about 70,000 each a few years ago but may have gone up.  They have been absolutely trouble-free.  The dentists are amicable but have busy schedules.  All of their equipment is now hnew since they moved to the newly remodeled 23rd floor.  There are many competent dentists in Bangkok but friendliness is important in my estimation.  Good luck with whomever you choose.

  2. I have always received my new reporting date by mail except for last year when the postage for the return envelope was increased to the SMS rate (37.5 Baht). When my new reporting date wasn’t returned after about two months, I went to CW and received my new reporting date without any fine.  I think that some online pages still say the postage for the return envelope.  That is wrong.  The amount is now 37.5 Baht.

  3. I have submitted my yearly TM 7 to CW immigration for many years.  It’s always in black ink; however, I sign it with blue ink.  I carry a blue pen with me to immigration so that I can sign all of my documents in blue ink.  I sign the TM 7 in front of the IO.  I’ve never seen any of the forms printed in blue.

  4. I too have completed the TM 7 in Adobe Acrobat.  Since I haven’t changed where I live, I just pull up the form on my computer, save it with a new name, edit the PDF to change the relevant dates, and then print it out using two-sided printing which my Brother does automatically.  I copy the completed form to three separate places for security and then I’m good to go until next year.

  5. Thanks, DrJack.

BTW,  I could see the captcha letters clearly and thought that I entered  the correct letters in the box below but never got a positive response.     Perhaps my using a VPN is causing a problem.  The letters appear on my Android phone but don't appear on my iPad.  My iPad uses a SIM to access the AIS WiFi.

  6. My 90-day report is due on April 23 so I should have mailed my report on Monday to be the requested 15 days in advance but I forgot to do it.  I had to go to Chaeng Wattana today to renew my extension of stay so I thought I would just report in person.  When I first got to Chaeng Wattana, I picked up queue number 515.  As I had an appointment at 1400, getting my extension went well and I got my passport back in about half an hour.  The 90-day queue had only gotten up to 234 and it seemed impossible to get in today.  I sat down right In Immigration and tried to file online.  Apparently I was never able to read the Capcha letters correctly.  I have forgotten my immigration password but couldn’t my password sent to my email.  I finally gave up and mailed my tm47 by EMS this afternoon.  I don’t know whether it will be accepted two days late.   Has anyone had a positive result when they’ve mailed their TM47 with fewer than 15 days before it is due?   The 90-day report is really a hassle.

  7. I can get prompt medical care for most any condition on the same day that I go to a private hospital here in Bangkok.  I have Medicare in America but the waiting time and quality of care there can sometimes be poor.  My daughter in Washington State can’t communicate with her doctor and receives medication that is not explained to her.  She now pays cash for online doctor consultations, gets full explanations and a prescription for the medication that she needs quickly.

I have good accommodations here in Bangkok and all of the facilities that I want to use are within walking distance or a short cab ride away.

UK residents living here should not worry about paying their part.  They are liable for Thai income tax starting on  January 1st this year.  For most, their tax rate will probably be 20% or 25%.  Americans are not liable because of America’s tax treaty with Thailand

  8. My present gripe about YouTube videos is that the presenters of a topic such as "Avoid These Foods for a Healthy Liver" take up the first 12-15 minutes with self promotion.  They go through a spiel about their personal history and accomplishments and then another spiel about their guests back story, accomplishments and books published.   They don't get to the su==+--[

  9. The number of Demodex living in the roots of your eyelashes is important.  Very many can cause eye infections and infections on the back of your eyelids.  An opthalmologist can pull out an eyelash and examine its root.  Be prepared to be disgusted.

I control my Demodex by closing my eyes tightly and scrubbing my eyelashes well with CleanRadex, a solution that contains tea tree oil.  Afterwards, I rinse my eyes and lashes with warm tap water and dry them before opening my eyes.  I then instill two drops of Systane UV (no preservatives) into each.  Eyes are now functioning well with no irritation unless I go for too long without eye drops.  Six hours seems to be the limit.

Don't let care for your eyes go because it is troublesome.   It's worth some effort to keep them in good shape.  I take the supplement Omega 7 to help retain moisture in my eyes.
