  1. Has anyone been to Cambodia over the last few mths? Just asking if these prices are correct?

Cambodia (Visa on arrival - tourist for $20, business for $25)

It has gone up to $30 now and it's available on the website

and for the eVisa $30 for visa plus $7 for processing plus $3 for using a MasterCard = $40. Two increases since May of this year, last year it was $20+$5+$3 = $28

Always make sure to have a copy of your eVisa particularly if you are exiting via a land route!!!

  2. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

I can give you results in 10 seconds.

    1) If she is a bar girl- and you don't send her money= she will cheat

    2) If she is a bar girl and you send buckets of money= she will cheat

    b

That pretty much nails it. I knew a bar girl that had a very rich

sponsor ( a more accurate term than boyfriend, and a term bar girls

actually use ). He put her in a very nice apartment, and sent her

100,000 a month. And this was 10 years ago when the money was

worth a lot more. She still cheated on him to my amazement. But

back then I guess I was more naive.....

At least some Thai girls will tell you the truth, but not many. If however they know that you already know how it works some are more willing to discuss the "sponsor" concept but you must accept that they are just taking care of their survival!

  3. I live in England and have an Irish passport. When my flight lands in Thailand I automatically get the 30 day tourist visa. If I leave Thailand and return via a land crossing I only get a 15 day visa, whereas if i fly back to Thailand then I get a new 30 day tourist visa.

.....Thailand Visa Application, Citizens of Ireland
Citizens of Ireland are permitted to stay in Thailand up to 30 days if entering via international airport and up to 15 days if entering through a land border checkpoint from a neighboring country (Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia) under the Visa Exemption Rule......

    # # # Effective 1 November 2013 citizens of G7 countries (U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Japan) receive 30 days visa-exempt via entry overland # # #

  4. Better late than never with this transport information......

Psych01 in his post 2012-09-03 mentions "a yellow bus from Pattaya to Poi-Pet". I am sure that this is the Roong Reuang Coach "Yellow Bus" and in particular the "Route 815 Mukdahan-Rayong"

This 815-route has important pick-up/drop-off points that include: Rayong, Bannchang, Sattahip, Pattaya, Siracha, Chonburi, Sakaew, Aranyaprathet, Norndindaeng, Nangrong, Buriram, Satuk, Prakornchai, Prasart, Surin, Payakapoompisai, Wapeepatum, Suwannapoom, Tatoom, Yasothon, Umnatcharoen, Roiet, Ponethong, Kushinarai, Loengnokta, and Mukdahan.

The "Yellow Bus" timetable/prices can be found at - http://www.iloveyellowbus.com/en/roots.html

The main option however would be to take a tuk-tuk, after crossing border, to the main bus station in Aranyaprathet and then take a "government bus" towards your onward destination - http://wikitravel.org/en/Aranyaprathet

From the main bus staion in town, there are reliable and inexpensive government bus services to many destinations, including Bangkok (frequent), Buriram (frequent), Chachoengsao (frequent) ((-this is where one would change bus for Pattaya if necessary)), Chanthaburi (frequent), Mukdahan, Nakhon Ratchasima (Khorat) (frequent), Pattaya, Rayong, Surin, and Udon Thani. For Trat, go via Chanthaburi.

A third option for travel help would be via - http://www.aranyaprathethotel.com/

    Market Hotel

    105/30-32 Raduthit Road (Aran Market)

    Aranyaprathet, Sakeo Province 27120 Thailand

    Telephone (037) 232302 / 231005 / 233088

    - they have a travel office which can arrange travel including from Bangkok or Pattaya to Aranyaprathet and through to Angkor Wat, Phnom Penh and other destination in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos or China.

It would be useful if the OP, "labik" could let us know what transport he eventually chose, thanks.
