ticket price the 4th october is 4x as that same ticket cost the 5th october.....

  3. Obtaining a 1 Year Licence

    What you need is:

A recent report (April 2009) says that documents required for first application are:

    Original passport + 2 copies of visa page and main page;

Medical report (any doctor can supply)

    Address confirmation from immigration + 1 copy;

    Current International Driving Permit

First registration, after that reaction test, colour test, another colour test, after that payment and making pictures.

    For renewal

    1. Expired drivers licenses.

    2) A colour test & reaction test on computer is now required for renewal.

It is best if you already have an International Driving Permit,

otherwise you will have to take a written test and a driving test,

    in you own vehicle.

After the first year you will be entitled to a licence for 5 years.

Once you have a Thai licence you can also use it to obtain an International Driving Permit.

It seem that these can only be issued it the Morchit Office, in Bangkok,

not at local offices, which is a shame.

    Updated 5th May 2009

can you get a licence also with a tourist visa?

I have my internat drivers licence here , and would like to get a thai licence

  4. You have 2 different situations.

1 is the art show, which is done by the gallery. You are probably all right there, as the galery will do all the work and you just do the talk, not unlike business meeting.

    2. Is the making of the art, with the intend to sell it. You will need a work permit for that.

ok Mario , thats clear to me.

the artwork is allready made, so I dont work on that.

but yes its part for sale and part for oction /charity , is that the gallery part?

    they sell it isnt?

    hopefully :)

Iam not there to sell ,they do, its their job....

I pay for the gallery , so thats maybe a point ?

I pay to have my show.....

and now how do you organise a work permit as Iam not a business, but a freelancer ?

I dont work for the gallery....so they cant do a thing for me I think.

why are things here so complicated ....

  5. Hi every one .

In october I have my art work shown in a Bangkok Gallery , Gossip , and now Iam confused of that is lagal or not .

Iam from the Netherlands and made the art here in Bangkok becouse the transport of an artpresentation is far to expensive...

so now in october , my name will be on tv ,magazines and news papers .

    the contacts are made.

a part of my show , the money , go s to a thai charity project .

there s going to be an oction to.

has any one an idea about what I should do ?

    thanks for thinking about it.....

  6. yes okay ,

well be aware that moblile phone use in FRANCE is the most expensive in whole of europe.

I use different sims for the countrys Iam at that moment .

you can find the prices on line from Orange, etcetera, in france I use a Le clerq sim , cheapest to get , but that diamond is dead in thailand , so UI use dAtac here what service me not as Iam in Cambodia....

its keeps up to be not easy....

call from France to Thailand with a FIXPHONE /LANDLINE thats cheap. leave your mobil in your pocket...

  7. I'm a little confused. Are you saying you were 20kg over the limit and they wouldn't turn a blind eye to that?

    hi there ...

I know about those AirFrance rules as I live in France and flye up and down to .

but bad enough its the same for all aircompagnies.

I travelled with overload ,2 kilo , no trouble , it depends who you are, how you look ,how you meet .....

but hey ...you are able to confirm youre flight before leaving, pick youre prefaired chair and book online overload luggage.

30 % discount .....thry that next time .

I travel to BKK without clothing , buy it here and leave it here to ....so only interesting items go back to Toulouse ,France.....

    suxes next time

  8. Hi , guys , Iam dealing with the same thing here....

coming from Europe but same as USA I think....

I arrived with visa on arrival in June ,then went to Cambodia for new visum at embassy of phnom penh ,got a 2 month single entry , and in september 5 it expireds again, I know that I can co to immigration for an extra month , but I hear such wild and negative storys about that department , what = exualy police, that I would go for a new visum at an embassy again....

if I apply for a 3 month multy entry visum it means that I need to cross any border every 3 months?

Iam not to happy with this Thaivisaforest.....so confusing.to many visatrees to see.

    regards Guyido.

Getting a 30 day extension is no big problem. Immigration offices do them all the time.

Just fill out a TM7 application form attach a photo and pay 1900 baht. You will also need a copy of your passport photo page, visa page and entry/permit to stay page and your TM6 departure card.

What kind of 90 day multiple entry visa do you plan on getting. If an O you will not get one any nearby consulate without being married to a Thai. The nearest place to get one to visit friends is Perth. Getting one does have it's advantages in that it only requires a border run every 90 days and will give you almost 15 months without getting a new visa.

If you don't a multiple entry visa then for your next tourist visa I suggest you go to Vientiane Laos and get a free 2 entry visa that with extensions and a border gives you almost 6 months without getting a new visa.

Ok thanxs for the info ...Its going to be Ventiane , bcs Iam not married with a Thailady...

anyone had bad experience with corrupt immigration officers?

Iam in BKK , and Thai locals give me nonstop warnings about the immigration offices here....

they advise not to give a home addresse but an office one ,wheres ever it is located, so thats Iam confused about my next step, I know the embassy or consulates are under foreign affairs , and immigration is under police department....

and thats no thrustfull place it seems
