  1. This sounds more like a form of mange than a blood parasite?

You don't say whereabouts you live, so it's not really possible for anybody to suggest where you can go to get it treated

Pattaya. There must be at least 100 vets here , if not more, and I don't trust any of them. Had many bad and expensive experiences through the years.

My current vet is a husband and wife team (both qualified) and as I said they are very caring and reasonable in their charges. He does his own blood tests and shows us the results, so I tend to think he knows what he's doing.

    But I can't be sure....

North Pattaya animal hospital (opposite Bkk Pattaya hospital); they've always sorted my two labs out a treat

  2. They are cowboys. I also spent around 30k there. After 3 days I'd lost sound from drivers door. Took it back where they said they fixed a loose connection. On the way home, it failed again. Decided to do it myself. What I found after removing the door panel....looked like a blind 5 year old with no hands had done the install! Never again.

  3. I doubt many Fortuner drivers will be committing suicide after being over taken by an Evoque. Not much shame in being overtaken by a vehicle with 3 x the price. I gather the Evoque comes with a 2.0L petrol or 2.2L Diesel with 150 - 190hp, dragging around 1.7 tonnes. No doubt can overtake a Tuner but probably not that rapidly.

    2.2 diesel has 190 HP, 2.0 petrol 240 HP

  4. I have a small plate on my bike with the province abbreviated. Been pulled once so far at On Nut, 200b tea money took care of it.

I can live with 200 baht once in a while to look cool wink.png

Most motorbike shops can do it for you. Also, the Harley shop in Pattaya will make any plate you want, any size, any number, any color. They make novelty plates. I asked and he said he could take my large plate and make a small plate with my plate number, like the old design, where there is a red stripe in the middle and the province name is abbreviated. Cost 500 baht and a few days. He said that the new plate wouldn't be legal, but would pass most inspection points. It would not have the hologram like the original, but I have never had anyone look that closely.

Where abouts is the Harley shop in Pattaya? The big place at Prattamnak? I don't live in Pattaya but it's much closer to me than Bkk.

  5. There are some scooter shops in the small alleys off of Soi Nathong (Ratchada) that trim plates, then put a backing on them to make them stronger. Really cheap - just wander about the Soi Nathong area and you're bound to find one of the shops that can do this for you.

Great, thanks. I'll have a wander around.

  6. Does anyone have a confirmed release date for the new Mazda 3? I'm ready to buy a car now and am interested in the current Mazda 3 2.0 Sport 5dr, but if the new model definitely will be released in March, I could possibly wait. Any drastic improvements that are worth waiting for?

    Thanks.

  7. Most people wouldn't consider Lumpini walking distance from On Nut though, considering it's Bangkok (humidity, etc).

True, most Thai/lazy people wouldn't walk it as it's only a motorbike taxi ride away. I usually preffered to take the 10 minute walk.

  8. Try Lumpini Ville/Center. I lived there for over a year and would happily return there. It's on soi On nut (Suk 77), keep going past Carrefour and it's on the left, can't miss it. There are notice boards all around the place showing available condos. Prices from around 6k.

  9. Can anybody tell me what are my neighbours cooking everyday that smells like 5 days dead dog? I don't know how it looks, - avoid their place like plague. My wife thinks it is this salty cutlets of barracuda looking fish preserved in some kind of oil???... GOD! It's really bad!

Could be pak cha-om; a green thin leafy vegetable that absolutely stinks when cooked!

  10. Best DVD shop I have seen so far in Thailand is in Seacon square, ground floor near IT City (sorry, can't remember the name). Thousands of movies in there, remember seeing box sets so may possibly have what you're looking for. If I go there later I'll keep my eye open.

I'm pretty sure you are referring to CAP. There are actually two CAP stores in Seacon Square, the one you mentioned and a smaller store on the 2nd (I think) floor.

    Sophon

Yep, they're the ones. Just been there, they've got series 1,2,3, and 5 on the shelves. 999-1199 Baht
