  1. 100 baht is nothing but i think its the pricipal that matters and its bad for the hotels reputation. but however i think it should just be recorded and it needs to happen more then once for a pattern to appear only when that happens can they investigate and take action against their staff for gross misconduct

  2. I took it once like 5 years ago, it stopped at some travel agency on the island in the middle of no where and they tried to sell us hotel rooms. Not in Phuket Town and not at a beach. I had a place already in Phuket Town so they agreed to drive me there in a car. The bus also didn't go directly to Phuket, it stopped at a restaurant part way there for a couple hours and then we had to switch to a van.

The normal bus from the southern bus terminal goes directly there and stops in Phuket Town, and you can get a songteow or a tuktuk in to one of the beaches or a boat to ko phi phi.

would the taxi fee be very high going from the hotel in bangkok to the bus termial? i know that bangkok is notorious for traffic and a 700 fee is probably not unheared of

  3. the transit lounge is a bit hot and dry. i wanted to go outside for freshair but the immigration officer wouldn't let me. i think i was just being silly. anyway the transit area is very interesting with mosaic walled surrounding like your in a sophia with an added dome roof

  4. (and how many of us have had a Vendor refuse to accept a torn Note?)

It's never happened to me nor anyone else I know - I think that's because, generally speaking, Thai bank notes that people receive are in pretty good condition. Try going to India where notes are left to get in awful states, often illegible and falling apart. Someone tole me he once received an Indian banknote which was given to him in small pieces chucked in a plastic bag! I think the banks are a bit quicker to withdraw a fading note here.

So they would screw up an image of Gandhi. It must seem very frowned upon in India. I’m its encouraged in Kashmir they might even burn the lesser notes. i am sure they must abhor the man that stopped them getting independence.

  5. I think condos should be boycotted, due to the racist and unworkable law that it has to be purchased with foreign currency in one payment. That is a stupid protectionist policy to stop foreigner's buying up property and driving up prices too high for locals as if locals buy condos with 30 year leases any way. the worse thing is they haven't taken into account those who earn money within Thailand who are forced to lose money to the banks in fees and bad currency exchange rates.

  6. I have to agree with them on this one. They can do what they like and I don’t blame them, it’s probably because the foreigners are taking the seats at busy times stopping businessmen and locals getting a seat. when you see the amount of carbon monoxide that is produced flying from Europe (it’s the same as driving a car for a year) then you think these pampered tourists should be trying to offset their output so hopefully this will hit the lazy lot where it hurts by the way I was in Thailand for 3 months and I could afford a flight but I didn’t want to rush so I used the tour bus, it’s all part of the experience otherwise you might as well be shut in the hotel
