  1. I moved to Bangkok (On Nut) eleven months ago and now my lease is ending next month (Sept 16th). I was thinking of moving to a different area for both convenience and to explore a different area of Bangkok.  I’ve been fortunate enough to live in a very new and quality condo in the Rhythm.  I would like to improve my location, while also maintaining the quality of my current condo.  Though I currently live next to a BTS, I now have a motorbike and being near a BTS stop is not a priority.  Below is a list of what I’m looking for.

Condo Type: 1 Bedroom; Will take studio only if quality is high

    Size: 34sqm +

Location: Phrom Pong (preferred), Asoke, Thong Lor, Ekamai, Phaya Thai, Rama 9, Lower Ratchadapisek, Lower Ramkhamhaeng

Conveniences which I am looking for (but not required): (1) Close proximity to Prom Pong/Asoke places such as K-Village, Terminal 21, and Binjisiri Park, (2) Easy access by motorbike to my job near Hua Mak airport link, (3) community feel with bars/restaurants in short walking distance, (4) pool, (5) modern gym,  (6) 7/11 type store at or very close to condo.

Price Range: 14-19k baht per month….depending on location, size, features…

Thank you to all who can help.  Your suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated.

  2. Does anyone know of a 4* or 5* hotel in Bangkok (Sukhumvit, Chao Phraya, or Sathorn areas preferable) which offers "locals" day access to their pool? For a fee of course. My schedule has recently changed and I can't make it out of Bangkok to visit the beach as often as I like. I'm looking for a relaxing environment as if I was at a hotel/resort in Hua Hin or Phuket. Because of the relaxed nature, it rules out hotel "pool parties" as they tend to be loud with music and over crowded.

Here is what I have gathered so far from recommendations. I've not confirmed these myself:

    -Pulman G (Silom)

    -Grand Millenium (Asoke)

-Swissôtel Nai Lert Park (BTS Phloen Chit)

    -The Ascott (Sathorn)

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I've been looking into purchasing some camera accessories lately. Usually I'll do my price/stats/review research with Amazon.com and place them in a temporary shopping car for organization. So after I compiled my recent shopping list for camera accessories, I discovered that options are extremely limited at MBK and Fortune as most camera shops sell canon/nikon only with few stores celling Sony. Also, non OEM accessories are extremely limited as well and if you're able to find what you want it seems that it is more expensive than in the West. Does anyone know where one can find items and prices similar to these:

  4. It looks like based on this thread and additional research, TOT has the only combination of "uncapped" and "unlimited" 3G. At their promotion price, it doesn't seem too bad.

Does anyone know if TOT service is any good? I live in Bangkok (On Nut). Their website coverage doesn't show a lot of towers in the area. So a bit skeptical on signing up for this plan.

    Thanks again everyone.

  5. I just moved to Bangkok and need to unlock my American iPhone 5. I've looked at MBK, but don't know how trustworthy the kiosk unlock services are (ie copying personal information, hacking phone....). I've spoke with my service provider Dtac (doesn't unlock phones) and Apple store in Siam Paragon. Technician at apple recommended AOB in MBK to unlock my phone.

How trustworthy are the cell phone unlock places in MBK?

Can anyone suggest a reputable/honest place that can unlock an iPhone 5?

Thank you in advance for any advice/suggestions.
