  1. I have had the XC90 for over 2 years. Apx 40km electric range but this is now higher on new models

Also got the 5 year free maintenance package

Great car. Far better value in Thailand than overpriced Merc/BMW

most of the functions that were industry leading when the model was originally released have now been replicated by other brands

Let's hope this crazy idea gets rejected!

Two of the additional #COVID19 measures being considered by the govt for Metro Bangkok are permitting people to leave homes only on Mon, Weds & Fri and shutting down supermarkets plus restaurants on alternate day. Be prepared folks. #Thailand

So you have twice as many people shopping on the opening days. Brilliant idea. Well done. ????

  3. what has made no sense for a while is not allowing those with long stay visas to return promptly. Those with work permits and elite visas all finding it difficult because of the flight/embassy situations.

so many hotels have zero/very low occupancy so open them up with appropriate covid policies and charge those returning the current prices of 60k THB for 2 weeks quarantine

    - gets cash in for the hotels

    - gets long term stayers back spending baht

no problem also opening up to tourists who are also prepared to do 2 weeks quarantine.

I would  not consider Opening to short term tourists from any country at this point.

  4. - need to renew driving licence.

    - Have non B extension of stay and digital work permit (no blue book)

    - previously work permit (blue book) accepted to renew licence.

    - now seems Certificate of Residence required

    - don’t have lease rental agreement or utility bills in my name as live with girlfriend

    - not registered under TM30 as travel out of Thailand  every week

    - all bank/credit card/phone statements sent to office address

any suggestions how to get driving licence renewed or how to get certificate of Residence?

if go to register TM30 will this cause any problems with non registration previously or problems in future?

  5. It can be done but will most likely depend on your situation. Do you have a work permit and long term extension of stay in Thailand? If so, you should provide full details of your Thai based employment, bank statement showing your salary. Also include lots photos of the two of you together including Singapore and Vietnam, as well as with her/your family if any available, and at your condo.

There is no red stamp in a passport for visa rejection.

You can can use an agency but many agencies charge crazy prices and offer little benefit vs a well organized application.

  6. I have redeeemed miles for flights/upgrades many times on TG over the years. Your observations are generally correct in my experience. Also the tax means that redeeming for short haul flights is not very attractive either.

It used to be very easy to redeem eg I could book less than 1 week in advance. However, in past 2-3 years TG seems  to have gradually adopted the policies of airlines like BA where they allocate a very limited number of seats on a flight for redemption tickets making it much harder to use the miles on most routes. The route to London is very popular and so it is even harder to get availability than others. Last time I redeemed I had to fly into another NW Europe airport but managed to get a flight out from LHR to match my dates

Also the process of redeeming through other Star Alliance airlines such as Eva does not seem easy/attractive.

  7. Moving into a condo which will have a new shower heater fitted. It is an old building and the wiring to the heater itself appears to only include red and black wiring is no earth cable.

Any suggestions on what we should do to ensure the shower heater is fitted as safely as possible by the building maintenance people?

  8. Either way, the parasail company should be held responsible for this

    - if he pulled the wrong cord by mistake why was it so accessible and why no training

    - more likely perhaps, he was strapped in incorrectly

but probably we will never know and the parasail company will not pay a baht

TAT needs to invest in some more Spin Doctors or better -- needs some serious HSE training/licensing/inspecting

  9. I am looking at a few options to handle UK mail.

Ideally I would use a mail handling service which provides an address that would be recognized by my existing UK banks, credit card holders etc to avoid any issues with not having a UK registered address.

Does anybody have any experience with theses types of services?

    - are they reliable?

    - is the address they provide recognized by Uk banks etc as acceptable?

    - how do you provide proof of address?

    any recommendations appreciated.

That's right. I pay 353.10 every month (including VAT) for an allowance of 15 m3. If I use less than 15 m3, I still pay 353.10

I am also paying this amount as a minimum per month. House is in a Thai name with a swimming pool. Doesn't seem consistent with the Table on the website. Am I large business or state enterprise?!

  11. Employer preparing docs for a Non Imm B visa to support Wotk Permit application

As an overseas national, can I apply in Vientiane?

Any experience on how long it takes to process application?

Can I get Multi entry - which would be easier for me given frequent travel - or does it have to be single entry?
