Wentworth
I'm interested in people's opinions about this way of doing things for the average computer user. There will always be those who like to tinker and probably not use it, but I'm thinking of those that just use it to get email, news and general surfing etc. 1. It seems to me that security is pretty much taken care of with it using Linux. It's my understanding that LInux also generally needs less RAM. 2. Web apps seem to be the way to go. As with the Chrome browser, they would update automatically. I guess that some apps would be paid for, but probably on a subscription basis - not forgetting the free ones. 3. I think that the notebooks will come with Solid State Drives and USB ports. Yes, data security does matter, but I'm more worried about backups and so would like the opportunity to have both cloud and localised backups. The price notwithstanding, are there any other drawbacks, or indeed benefits?
