Wild bananas

I'm not sure if wild banana is the correct term or not, but I did manage to grow a single plant from seed.

It is very slow growing and after 2 years, it is maybe 2 metres + a bit high.

It looks very healthy, but it doesn't seem to throw up any babies from its base, so maybe it only grows from seed.

I can't find any info about this banana, so I am wondering at what age it will likely bear fruit. Does anybody know?

Also, if and when it bears fruit, does it then die, or is it likely to fruit a second time?

I was talking to a collegue about seeded babanas and the conversation turned to Australian native bananas -musa banksii , commoonly found on the edges of rainforest in northern Queensland and into Papua New guinea too so i believe..

Anyway i googled musa banksii and found this site which may be of general interest about tropical fruits as well as having info about seeded bananas . Hope it is an interesting as i found it
