  1. Is there any chance to keep this topic about 'what is' going on now and not 'why' it is?

    i will 2nd that! :)

    How on-topic indeed.

Much of this could have been avoided if there had been a designated protest site - a large field with basic facilities outside downtown Bangkok. That's what the Cambodians just arranged - for future protests in their country. Granted, it's easier said than done, but if the initial protesters had been funneled to a large field somewhere, then things would not have gotten so far out of hand.

Plus, recent reports of freezing accounts of many big businesses and big shot Thais associated with Thaksin and the Reds is BIG NEWS. You can bet there are a lot of big shots close to the Shinawats, who are cussing and shouting and banging furniture against walls.

Thaskin is definatly the cause and the financial organizer of this protest

Panic and chaos will allow him to return

    But the question is

Is Thaskin the head of all of this

    or just a puppet himself

There are many of my business friends who say he is but a puppet of The New World Order

and Thailand is a test site for bigger things to come

  2. He who rides the tiger.....

    Regards

PS Problem may be the tiger will not choose its next meal so carefully

That's right. Bangkok always thought it was riding a donkey. the donkey turned into a tiger. a very large one. Lets hope that Bangkok realises it's mistake, and the tiger doesn't turn out to be extraordinarily hungry :D .

You get 7500 free internet credits for that awesome allegory. :)

  3. Well said, I agree 100%.

    Sad days for Thailand, indeed.

I am curious how some posters "reason" that this is somehow Abhisit's fault?

Abhisit attempted talks and was even willing to discuss moving up the election, right?

But apparently the Reds dont want a peaceful compromise - it is clear their goal is mayhem.

I have not heard of any corruption on Abhisit's part, and it seems he is doing what his job necessitates in this situation.

However, Thaskin was undoubtedly corrupt to the core. And as far as I see things transpiring now, Thaksin has declared war on his own country using essentially paid mercenaries. He should be arrested for treason, along with the Red leaders, and anyone responsible for the bombs, destruction, etc.

  4. The non-violence and restoring normalcy asap concept were all very noble thoughts and non-acts of Abhisit, and even though I liked him and his ideas in the past, this whole mess has shown that he's no leader. He's simply too nice for the job. (Some would say he's missing a pair).

Letting the reds do and succeed with whatever they want, even though it's declared illegal in advance, was an unforgivable and uncorrectable mistake, I think not even a single arrest has been made so far?

Abhisit, it's probably time to get another job, one where you can be nice. Look into nursing or the likes. (No offense).

Today was a dark red day for democracy in Thailand. Or the idea thereof.
