  1. I paid 33,000 for a flight in July with Jet. Seemed pretty good to me. Flights BKK - LON rtn always seem to be more expensive than LON - BKK rtn.

Have you spoken to anyone who has flown with Jet? All I hear are complaints, mainly about the staff in Mumbai airport. The airline is OK but the thieving and scams in Mumbai airport spoil it.

Don't carry more money than absolutely necessary, no alcohol, no expensive clothes.

I fly Jet frequently to and from Mumbai and find them one of the best there is in all ways. Staff have always gone out of their way to be polite and Mumbai airport is now easy to pass through and I have never seen any incidence of hassle within it at all.

  2. Where are you actualloy coming from?

    Calgary, Canada

I would strongly advise using an agent as it can be very confusing and can take up to 8 hours as it did when I first brought dogs into Bangkok. I have subsequently used and recommended to many - T.M.T. Co. a Mr. Tapedermkiat - on +66 81-814 7707. Their charges are very reasonable and they will see you through with the minimum of fuss.

  3. Hilary looked old yesterday in Moscow.

I think ANYONE would age rapidly if they had the hectic and constant country to country schedule that HIlary Clinton is keeping up right now. The weight problem is probably due to too many conference lunches and dinners and sitting around for hours with quite a lot of rather overweight men. Hazard of the job.!

  4. Me thinks Basset Hound got into the mix a few matings in the past.. A Beagle has longer legs and body type different. Most street mixes are from a western type "falong" dog breed and a Thai dog mix of sorts.. Basset hounds are big barkers and non-doers for sure while a true Thai dog is and can be feared by many. it all depends on a owner. and why do they even own a dog.?

As a dog judge I would say he had a corgi and border collie in his background somewhere. Both these dogs are of course herders so use their voices quite a bit in the persuance of their duties. Lovely condition he is in, but I would think he would be of more using as a guard INSIDE the gates as male dogs can be distracted easily!

  5. Who actually flys with them ? Considering their website prices are more than double of everyone elses !! I just cant see how they survive !!

Check out price for flights to UK, crazy !!

I couldn't agree more. I fly around twice amonth internationally and cannot believe the prices Thai are quoting. I have just been charged 76,000 baht for a business class ticket to Osaka - 7 hour trip. I had a wonderful trip on QATAR end of last year for an all in price of 72,000 THB to London. Thai don't even TOUCH their quality.

  6. Indeed there are many very good ones. Go into the website - www.petnews2005.com and you will find advertisements there for kennels with Frenchies. Alternatively you can always go into the website for the www.kcofthailand.com and ask them for reference to breeders.

There will be a two day Championship Show this weekend which you will find all the details of if you troll down the page on the "petnews2005" website. Why not go along and see the high quality for yourself.

  7. There are several good dogs in Phuket. I was instrumental in helping a friend a few years back to bring in a pair and the original male from Australia, a lovely red guy, is still very much active. He is registered and with a good pedigree. I have permission to give you my friend's name and number. Howard Digby-Johns on - 0818915503.

    Happy matings!

  8. Depending on which country you are travelling with the puppy regulations vary so it is best to look into the website on your home country under Agriculture and Veterinary Department to enquire of their rulings.

I would recommend that you contact a very good agent that I have used myself here several times and they will be able to assist you in everything including what paperwork, shots etc. you will require. They are - Sky Trade Services, based at the airport and you could find them on the Search Engine of your computer.

They do not charge a lot of money and they take all the worry off your shoulders and the dog will be correctly shipped.

  9. I attend the Dog shows here in Thailand pretty regularly and over the past ten years have NEVER seen a Border Terrier. You could make an enquiry to the Kennel Club of Thailand . Try the e-mail address - [email protected] K. Pornsakorn as he speaks and writes good English and may well be able to assist you. Otherwise Australia is the nearest you will find one as I judge all over Asia and have not seen a Border in any of the Asian countries except Japan.

If you wish for some assistance in Australia let me know over this website.

  10. Well experienced lady - Belinda Revett - Telephone Number - 0810816862. She recently completed doing THE OUTRIGGER in Rawai.

Thanks for the info. Does she do private apartments though?

Indeed she does. She is currently doing two and has done many that I am aware of in the past.

  11. Found out this morning whilst trying to check in for my flight to Mumbai that my Multiple Visa ending in June now carries a proviso that you cannot return to India inside 60 days. I do not know whether anyone else knows of this, I certainly did not. I returned from a trip to India on 21st December and have to wait for 60 days from that date before I can return. I was not a happy cookie this morning as I had paid THB4,500 for this visa as I live in Phuket and have to use a courier. It is still valid - BUT - only for three trips NOT the multiple which it states.

I thought I should warn other travellers who are unaware of this new ruling which to my mind is pretty strange as it is going to play havoc with business trips and in my case I am a dog judge and was going to judge a show tomorrow. Poor organisers are left with 24 hours to find a local replacement.
