  1. You first write about translating and certifying documents, which should be something done in 1-3 days or so (get them officially translated, go to the Thai foreign affairs for fancy stamps, get them to the German embassy for more fancy stamps, done). But in your second post it sounds like the problem is about getting the paperwork for a type D visa done in a timely manner? The Germans might be a bit slow with issueing a type D (long stay, immigration issued under Directive 2004/38) visa. It might work better to apply for a type C (short stay, ofcourse issued under Directive 2004/38) visa which could be issued by Germany or any other (Schengen) country, which is the approach beano2274 did (on a German C visa ?).

I have to get my marriage certs verified anyway, so it made sense to apply for this visa it is a lot easier and less running around however it just comes with taking longer. I was wondering if anyone has had the certs recently done

    and how long it took.

  2. This link here is the visa, I am applying for

    http://www.bangkok.diplo.de/Vertretung/bangkok/de/08/Visum-Ehegattennachzug.html

I only provided proof of residence, tax statement and contract. The mrs; two application forms, two passport pics, marriage and register docs. A lot less than a visit visa. The problem is in 6-8 weeks for the marriage and registration docs, I was under the impression that once all the docs are ready it was a very short turn around.

  3. Have the ceremony first after all that's the only part she is interested in sin sod etc then do the paper work later. If she takes your name register at her home amphur if not then any one will do.

No sin sod being paid from here, mate. I don't pay anyone to get married. You can't do the marriage ceremony without doing the paperwork first, anyway.

What on earth are you on about? Some Buddhist ceremony which doesn't mean a thing legally?

Seems to me there's a lot of people who marry bar-girls on here.

    Another TV clot posts again.

Pff what clown, good luck with your hooker.

  4. Avoid luggage with zipps, wrap it and keep valuables with you.

As a side note, be careful on board: once I was made awake by someone who's trying to access my hand luggage. Since then, I lock my hand luggage ;-)

There are thieves who put their luggage in your overhead so that you have to put yours elsewhere makes it easy for them to go through your stuff

  5. OP, you might be able to even apply for a None-Imm-O (multiply entry).

I just recently did in in Germany.

I showed the original birth certificate from my son, a photocopy of the birth certificate, the id card and the blue book (Tabian Baan) of her mother.

They additionally requested an airline ticket (paid), a letter from the company I am working for in Singapore and as well a bank statement.

I asked for a single entry but they advised me to take multiply entries. After 4 working days I picked it up at 8.45am.

    Where in Germany?

  6. Is Thai Airways really strict about the 20kg policy? (from Germany)

Most of the time when I flew inside Europe companies did not charge me for a few kg extras, is it the same with them?

Yep Thai are tight even your hand luggage is weighed and a proxy 30kg for business

  7. This is def elite. I will stick with my reporting every 90 days on an ED visa. only 30K per year Including the 1900 each visit. Is it a multi entry visa?

First you say you stick with beer than you ask how champagne tastes?

Note you're doing extensions not reporting. Reporting is free or cost of a stamp if done by mail.

PE visa is very definitely multi-entry, as in unlimited entries.

Wow GREAT insight.. Funny-sad an alcoholic is using alcoholic references.
