Hi, I am in HH now (generally here long term) and all of the courses you want to play are good, BM and BY better than good. But remember it is the hot season now so some are bit dryer (more run) than normal. Obviously you can get the walk in prices from the internet but should range from BHT2500 to BHT4000 ie green fee, caddy fee, cart etc.

ten year forecasts are impossible so make your own decisions. And, as every one knows, don't put all your eggs in one basket. Bit of a risk to have the bulk of your funds in Thailand if a non Thai.

Can someone please let me know if you can do visa crossing/run in Northern Thailand at Mae Sai or Chiang Saen. I will be in that area when I need to do the visa run. It is a standard 90 day in/out of the country. I have a non immigrant B mutiple entries visa. I am Australian over 60. Thanks

We have Australian company for golf tours to Thailand. At first we were informed in Australia that a company in Australia could operate in Thailand with appropriate visa and work permit.
After arriving in Thailand, I was informed that we cannot operate here unless we set up a Thai company with a Thai national as a majority shareholder ie say 51% with us being minor shareholders.
Can you please briefly explain the rules regarding operating a business in Thailand. Specifically do we have to lodge funds to set up the company here or is it similar to Australia where you can have one million shares bit only lodge $1 to operate. Also do we have to lodge funds to gain work permits etc.
Thank you

I'm Australian, over 50 who has a long stay visa expires on 6th April 2010 and intend to apply for a further 12 months. I was going to go to the Bangkok Immigration office but on reading various forum and government info, it now appears I have to apply in my area. Can someone confirm this please??
