Indeed I applied only for a single entry.
According to the information I have got on the forum (I think from Ubonjoe) it is not possible to get a multiple entry Non-O visa based on having Thai kid.
On the Consulate, I was not suggested to apply for a multiple entry.
And I didn't ask the officer, as I wanted to make it as simple as possible, without entering in discussion.
Just wondering why you were told, not to apply for a multi enter? I have done it for the last 2 years based on my child and it was not a problem. Embassies I applied at were Savannakhet (no bank details required) 2 yrs ago and Sydney ( bank details required) last year. Have things changed at Savannakhet?

Did you do it yourself or were you using an agent?
I cannot conceive immigration holding on to your passport until the extension was approved.
I used a agent because usually if I do it myself I seem to upset people.

Immigration dose not keep your passport while your application is under consideration.
You keep you passport after they do a under consideration stamp with a report back date 30 days from when you did the application or from when your permit to stay ends dependent upon where you apply for it.
Ok they don't I just had trouble getting mine back cause immigration had it for what ever reason it may of been and they keep on giving me excuses and blaming the new government. That's why I won't do extensions anymore I like multi-entry and thanks for your help.

The only location nearby you can get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai is at the consulate in Penang and you will need to show 400k baht in the bank or proof of income.
You will need their birth certificate and a copy of their house book registry.
You are the legal father of your child since you were married to their mother which means you could apply for a one year extension at immigration. You would need the 400k baht in a Thai bank or proof of 40k baht to apply for it.
Thanks Joe, I don't like doing the extension due to my passport being sent to Bangkok for a month due to the sort of work I do happen to me last time I did it and I nearly lost out on work cause immigration had my passport

Hi,
what are the requirements these days to get multi enter non-o visa based on having a child in Thailand which I support and she lives with me when I'm in Thailand. I use to get same visa but on marriage but I'm now divorced.
Thanks

Never used Brisbane but always heard good reports, Perth used to be great, It's ok now still nice people to deal with, Melbourne was good also
Sydney was ok but very straight down the line. I will never use The Canberra Embassy again she is one strange person tp deal with even the girls in Melbourne said she wasn't all there.

I didn't see that part of the story, I only seen the part where they said her and friends age.Where in this story does it say his age? It does give the age of her and a another Thai friend as she's 40, friend 56.
Umm, the very first line of the story ?
"A: -- Over the weekend, the Pattaya Police Chief, announced the arrest of a 40 year old Pattaya Bar Worker, who is alleged to have stolen money from the room safe of a 56 year old British Tourist."
If that guy is 56, then I must only be about 40 now (but I still tell the ladies that I'm really only in my 20's which is why I'm such a "hansum man") !

if the bar owners were smart enough do what the philippines did when they had martial law and curfews just open early then shut early they had a booming industry in the bar scene some of the best times were had by all and if a bar girl is desperate for money she will adapt to the new time

I had a similar problem, I used up a passport in 4 years. When applied for a new one in Bangkok at my embassy, I was told I was not me and I had to prove who I was. In those 4 years I lost a lot of weight. I ended up getting the passport but what a hassle.

It will only be grid locked around khao talo and sukhumvit rd on that huge empty block where they did the last one a few years back. Also regardless of what colour they wear you can't get a Thai to walk 100m let alone 3kms with out catching a baht bus or motorcycle taxi.

I applied just before Christmas for one with Bangkok bank I have been with the same branch for over 5 years, i did have to deposit 100,000 baht into a fixed term account for a year, last week i got a sms message that said ive been successful from the bank and i can pick it up in a few days times. went to the bank and they said it will be here this week. my limit is meant to be the same as the term deposit. Also had a mate who applied with Kasikorn and they said no to him

What accident? As far as some Thai government sea safety committee stated about 2 months ago, 2013 was the best year they have had on the waterways around Pattaya no major accidents or deaths, they even had a ceremony and gave out awards down by the water police station in south Pattaya. LMFAO when I read it

You can leave the country and return just before it runs out and get another 3 months. Even tho it's a 1 year visa you can get 15 months out of it.

With all these new visa requirements coming in. I personally think when they start with "you have to have a Thai bank account" the Thai government will start to TAX our bank accounts regardless if its been already taxed in your on country.
