  1. Yes, it's a promotional friendly, was arranged a while back. A few first teamers will be here. 6pm K.o next Saturday @ the Supachalasai stadium near MBK.

Sadly I fly to England that same day, but should see us at home to Hull and away at Leeds.

is that because they dont have any players on international dutylaugh.gif

Anyone know if it will be on TV in Thailand?

  2. Did it last time via the post but have since lost the slip. Can i still do the next report by post with no slip, just put in a note saying it's lost? As far as I know it's just a reminder anyway and they have a record of your reporting, but then this is Thailand and maybe I will have to go in in person. If so do I have to pay a fine for losing it?

  3. If I remember correctly the Krabi area (and probably a few others) has been colonized by Swedes... there is even a Swedish school and I met Swedes doing all kinds of jobs. So I'm sure there would be a market for it.

Don't know about legal / illegal but I'm sure a good lawyer would find a way around it... they could just call her "consultant" instead of hairdresser...

    Absolute bullshit.

    no its not.

Being a lawyer is a restricted proffession here, but many foreign lawyers work here, technically as consultants, managers etc.

It is a bit the same in other professions. If you are a manager of a salon, with your work permit stating your repsonsibilities to include doing certain things that involve working with hair, then there should be a way.

Quite right one lawyer company even has a manager who murdered his own mother in his own country, so if he can get away with it surely anyone can.

  4. Can somebody give a definitive answer on where to go for a re entry permit please? I did a search and the last poster said they are only available at Suan Phlu on saturday mornings, is this now the case, or is this just for walk in without emailing first? I am tired of going to one immigration office only to be sent all the way to Cheang Wattana. I too have phoned 1111 to ask but was passed to four different people and then the phone went dead-no answer.

  5. I wonder with some concern how this Declaration of Renunciation might affect those who have already applied for Thai citizenship. Take me, for example - I applied in May 2007 and my application was officially submitted to the Interior Ministry in July 2007. I had my formal interview with the Interior Ministry in July 2008. Since then, almost three years since my application, not a peep.

I wonder how, if at all, the Declaration of Renunciation will affect my application. Will I be required to submit such a declaration in the future even though it was not a requirement when I submitted my application? Any thoughts?

I am an Australian citizen. I was told by the Special Branch that I scored 92 points on my original citizenship application in 2007 - not that that has any bearing on this issue.

I don't think this would affect your case because the October 2009 Interior Ministry guidelines were not in effect when you applied. The process takes such a long time that things are bound to change during the course of individual applications and I don't think the Interior Ministry would make new requirements retroactive. For example, they are not likely to chase up pending applicants for another B5,000 once the application fee is raised from B5,000 to 10,000. On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if applicants who applied under the old guidelines but haven't been before the Interior Ministry committee got popped the question by the committee because they will probably now be asking every one for a verbal confirmation of intention to renounce existing nationality. Since you have already passed the committee, that shouldn't be an issue. It would do no harm to ask Special Branch directly. Although they can never give a definitive answer about the workings of the ministry, their guess would be better than ours.

I know of one guy here 30 years who has gone through this process, his ratings etc are impeccable. He has spent a great deal on it already and several years down the line he was informed if he wanted it to finally go through 'quickly' it would be 250k, rather a lot of tea money. He declined and the latest figure they gave him to expedite his case was 500.000 baht. !!

Two things strike me, one is why do these people think their crappy passport is worth that to anyone, and second why any falang would want to pay it after forking out substantial sums already. Also, who would want a passport from one of the most corrupt countries in the world anyway even without the corruption involved in getting one. On the other hand any old Thai tart can marry a bloke from the UK lets say, divorce him after a minimal amount of time and then claim residency and a passport, something don't seem right.

  6. Photocopy of the following passport pages which show the:

    *photo

*original visa (from previous passport if applicable)

    *visa extension stamp

*stamp of the last entry into Thailand

    *current re-entry permit

    · Photocopy of departure card (front and back)

    · Original previous 90 days slip (but keep a p/copy at home)

    · 90 days form (TM 47)

    · SAE with B10 stamp

The documents should be sent by EMS

Thank you for the information, covers it all

  7. I have not done 90 day report by post before but will give it a try. It says on the immigration site that you are meant to send in copies of all passport pages, do they want this in practice or just the relevant ones? main page, visa, tm6 and last entry etc. I used to take all copied pages for extensions of stay but they have always not wanted blank and irrelevant pages, just wondering if by post is different.

  8. They wont, say and looking on fitch seems hopeless. I am after the retail deposits versus its mortgage lending I think, although anything can happen these days. I have more than the 50k in there and you only get back 50k if they go tits up. I know they are the biggest society but thats not much comfort when they start to send warnings out about only getting 50k if they default. Any ideas? Not so easy to move money about over the internet and open new accounts this way, places want proof of address in the UK etc etc. Most of my money there is in bonds until next year and means losing money if cashed in early

  9. I have an ACER Aspire 5050. Four years old very few problems but when i do have one I only take to the ACER services center.

Would not recommend the acer centre in Pantip, unless you fancy a laugh, they are absolutely clueless. Tried to charge me for a new motherboard my laptop did not need and their prices are very high

  10. Maybe, just maybe, the Red-shirt managed to steal it for the second time.

Why not, they did it in the 1st time.

It is almost impossible for the DSI to steal it themselves, as they are the law enforcer themselves.

Please follow this story and see if justice is served. Law enforcers is not the correct statement for them, its Law abusers......

I can predict the outcome. Nothing will happen, the story will disappear and will blow over where the jewelry owner probably has no insurance on his assets and DSI will continue on adding performance of their unsolved crimes to their everlasting list.

Its funny to think that when a criminal is caught, all these news come out but not once do they announce the conviction and terms of imprisonment or trial dates etc..

So if DSI did not steal it, could it be the police or the army? Unlikely too, as they are good people that protect Thais from bad people (like the thieves that stole it).

You cannot be serious -can you? The Thai Police are viewed by most outside Thailand, including the UN as a criminal organization and even most Thai would not argue against the view that they are corrupt from top to bottom. Of course some public servants stole these valuables. Had a friend who died in pattaya two years ago, the Police even stole money off his dead body, I mean how low can these people get?

  11. I wonder if they will identify the 150b international transaction ATM fee as being unfair?!...somehow I think not!

or the charge they make you pay for changing small change into notes, and the fee i was once charged for paying in 3000 baht in small change into my account, apparently to pay for the time and energy taken to count the money that was already counted and bagged ready for the teller to put it on their money scales.

International fee is beyond Bank of Thailand jurisdiction.

Anyway, you people can afford it.

It's not an international fee and how do you know all can afford it? Makes a dent if you are living on 27k a month. 150 baht when taken as a percentage of the national wage is like charging a Thai about $70 to take their cash out of a USA ATM, hey if you are a Thai in the USA you can afford to be ripped off, no?

  12. You could try using a service like moneybookers.com. If the rates on their website are accurate then it would work out a lot cheaper than an electronic transfer from bank to bank and avoid all the hassle.

I signed up for moneybookers, but if you want to transfer funds from your Thai bank account you still have to go in and first transfer it to frankfurt, then use the website to transfer it to your bank in the UK. Might just as well transfer it straight into your UK bank from the Thai one, although I don't look forward to trying as even the simplest things seem to get my Bank here stumped.

  13. As I said, I would go there tomorrow and take your EMS postal receipt (if you sent it EMS) as proof of sending before the expiry date. You'll be ok and don't worry.

    In future, affix a B10 stamp!

I was at immigration two weeks ago and asked on the 'information' desk how much the stamp had to be. Girl did not know so asked the other three on the desk-none knew so off she went to find out. When she came back 10 minutes later she told me three baht, which of course is just the normal price for a letter, clueless.

  14. Yeah, pretty depressing. Staying here is still the better of 2 weevils, for now, but I keep checking for options to move on.

I haven't seen too many smiles in the LOS for quite a while now.

This terrorist act literally disgusted me. When Thais are upset... oh well.

How can five people looking around a hospital in the company of staff be a terrorist act? The nation headline is hysterical nonsense and the event is being used as crude propaganda against the UDD, the place was not stormed,we are not talking about the bastille, hardy a big deal. Pic of people being evacuated is the result of an over reaction from the Hospital, but it looks good in the media, evil reds force closure of Hospital, utter crap.

  15. Even the Pravda writes it: The government cannot anticipate how big the red-shirt movement is, or how big it will grow. As long as the red shirts' problems remain and their demands are not met, the movement will be reborn and come back to challenge the government again in no time at all.

Unfortunately the Democrats are not wise enough to understand.

My guess is that Abisith does not want any elections at all. He'll always find a good reason to postpone. Burmese style.

The lying puppet has already ruled out early elections for fears of 'violence' as if not having one has not promoted violence!
