After residing and working in Bangkok for some time. I decided to return to Singapore during the pandemic period for good.
Singapore may be sterile overall but more stable especially for career prospects.
Thailand could be a place to retire instead. Wouldn’t really recommend working there

For a quartz model, most watch shops should be able to assist

Singapore, although sterile, is more stable all around. Especially for having better career prospects
Bangkok is likely more cost effective for retirement or having a nice holiday.
Spent more than 4 years working and residing in Bangkok and decided to return to my native Singapore. I did meet many Singaporean expats. Most of them were married to a Thai. Some had been based there for long periods and returning home was not a viable option
my view is, better to earn Singapore money and spend your holidays in Bangkok. Working there is quite a different experience

thanks for sharing. would think that all consulars would be able to assist for such a visa, regardless of nationality

It depends upon what you consider easier. Leaving the country to apply for the new multiple entry non-b visa every year and leaving the country every 90 days for a new entry. Or applying for an extension of stay based upon working at your local immigration office and never needing to leave the country unless you want to.
Good point. I think i'll just go to Chamjuree Square every year. Thanks for your assistance and replies ubonjoe

Hi ubonjoe,
Seek clarification for future. For following years, would it be easier to apply for One-Year B Visa with multiple entry, rather than extending stay then applying multiple re-entry permit (seems like latter is two-steps).
-
i'm quite fortunate my Human Resources handle this for me on my behalf. If the online platform gets more sophisticated, i wouldn't mind doing it myself too.

I lost my job then, i ddnt have means to pay back. the only option i had was to return to my country. life was bit tough then. now i have an opportunity to go back and start everything new. i know this is not an excuse for not owning up your dues.
My sincere apologies if my question made you feel uncomfortable. I was merely trying to understand the scenario and meant no malice at all, Nonetheless, hope all is well now and that you are able to return. Take care.

You would apply for a one year extension of stay (not a visa) at immigration using a TM7 application form.
After the extension is done you could apply for a multiple re-entry permit that would be valid for the length of the extension.
Thanks for your guidance ubonjoe. Hopefully the process is not too long. TM7 seems like applying for Work Permit (with regards to documentation required)
TM8 looks quite straightforward for Multiple Re-entry option (cross fingers)

You can not change a single entry visa to a multiple entry anywhere without applying for a new visa at a embassy or consulate.
If you can qualify for a one year extension of stay you could get a multiple re-entry permit after it is granted. You would need a work permit to apply for the extension and a lot of documents from your employer.
You cannot get a re-entry permit on arrival. You have to apply for re-entry permit at a immigration office or at some airports on departure from the country.
A re-entry permit would only keep the remainder of the 90 day entry from the visa valid when you enter the country using it.
Hi ubonjoe,
Many thanks for your earlier reply. I am just a little confused now and seek your kind clarification.
Non-Immigrant B Visa (single entry) issued in home country consular - March 2017
Work Permit issued by Labour Department - April 2017
Can I know apply for the multiple re-entry permit (TM8) or do i need to now apply for a Visa for one year of stay? Apologies I am a little confused if there is one or two documents involved by Immigration?
Thank you in advance

Hi guys,
in relation to this thread - (sorry had to create a new one as could not post on below)
If i have just gotten my B Visa for single entry (90 days) but i need to fly home within the next 30 days, are we allowed to convert single entry to multiple entry immediately once i reach bangkok?
Or should i just apply for my re-entry (TM 8 form) at the airport when i land? (i potentially already know what day(s) i will fly back)
appreciate any advice. thank you

Please make sure you have all documents. Discretion is of course with consular, but generally not difficult if all in place

I would like to ask a few questions, with regards to apartment lease.
Do tenants pay for:
- wifi
- utilities / water
- property tax
- parking slot (if applicable)
- any other costs / fees to note?
thank you

Personally, I am a sincere believer of "kindness begets kindness". There will always be black sheep whether tourists or on the local side.
I was working in McDonald's a long time ago...and you get to see all kinds of characters. Some of them just yearn attention, or had a bad day. These are not excuses, but inevitable for many in service line. The customer is not always right, but the customer is the customer.
Sometimes, we just need to have a positive attitude. There will always be these type of people - no point brooding over it.
Life is unfair - how we deal with it is important

Peter,
forgive me for my candour but why not just pay back your debt with interest and seek permission to go back?

dear all,
i need some advice on BlackBerry BIS services
i travel to BKK quite often and have always been using a AIS prepaid card for the longest time. Let me share a little background
it was a year ago when i used my AIS prepaid card for the first time with BIS services, charged at about THB 35 a day. Working on a 3G Bold 9000, my operator reflected as TRUE and i could received pushmails on top of my BIS, and did not think other than the ordinary
a month later i did the same thing at the airport and...the operator now is changed to AIG (or TH GSM) and cannot work on the 3G but EDGE network...and has been the same for subsequent trips (more than 10) - was later explained to my by AIS staff that each BlackBerry PIN is linked to 1 BIS service and in Thailand now, prepaid cards are not yet allowed to have pushmails...which have made me rather confused if i had compared my first experience
does TRUE prepaid cards allow BIS with pushmail services?
appreicate any reply. thanks

Luma or April are just specialized insurance brokers in health. The ones actually giving you headaches may be the health insurance underwriters themselves.
if you would like to explore health insurance directly with insurers, popular ones are Aetna or Cigna or Pacific Cross
