  1. Hi everyone I have a few questions about extending retirement visa for my dad here:

    1. Does it have to be any particular type of account? Regular, savings or fixed savings account?

    2. Long long time ago for my marriage visa I used fixed savings account to get decent interest, but now that you need to leave 400k after extension I am not sure how it will work or if it will work at all. Does money need to be automatically taken out once let's say 4 months fixed savings account is reached the date.

    3. The lady at KTB told me foreigners are not allowed to earn interest, which sounds absurd,  not that it matters much but that lady was wrong about so many things in the past.

    4. Any advice, preference people have for bank of choice? KTB, SCB, Krugsri, Kbank?

    Thank you.

  2. Greetings everyone,

I am trying to help out a friend and wanted to ask a few questions especially about visit the wife 60 days visa. Now my friend was on the marriage visa prior and unfortunately did not have enough funds to extend it. He then left a country and came back on visit wife 60 days visa per entry, if not mistaken it is allowed to be used twice a year and each can also be extended once, so apparently 2 visas pe 2 extensions am I correct here?

Also, can I ask he go out on a land border but comeback on a proper visa?

So, in short, he used 2 visit the wife and 2 extensions on those and 1 30-day extension if I am correct so far. What would be the best option for him to go about now?

    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

  3. My dad is coming here and I am trying to organize him a retirement visa. Since when that 400,000 must remain in the bank account started? This was definitely not the case. What is the reasoning behind this keeping 400k in the account, apart from hoping that the person passes away and they keep the money. What happens if you take it out and then put back 800k prior to extension? Will they cancel your visa immediately or just not extend it next time?

  4. I highly doubt any of these people had real military combat experience (including the army), the amulets of course will protect.

However, where were all these volunteers in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria AND MOST importantly Palestine or YEMEN where genocide takes place. Oh yeah, afraid of sanctions or cross path with uncle SAm or Israel.

They have zero understanding of this conflict. They will be surprised what national battalions are up to it's either do what you are told or get shot on the spot.

  5. Greeting,

My insurance is due to expire with Tokyo marine. The  renewal is very expensive. So far I have managed to find 2 great deals one from Direct Asia and another from Roojai. DirectAsia is a bit cheaper but provides higher cover than Roojai. Roojai looks good but the damage cover (for car) is only 488k, which is half the value of the car. I can't change that. Direct Asia gives 550k.

Did anyone ever dealt with any of these?

  6. These officials are complete retards. They keep pointing fingers at neighboring countries like Thais don't burn, so they don't have to accept the responsibility. I see people setting stuff on fire all the time here from rubbish to forrests. The data from fire map shows a lot of fires here in Thailand. So is it the Burmese who crossed the border and traveled 400 km to start a fire near me? Chiang rai for example 3 days ago 20 fires and a day later close to 300.

It's going to get a lot worse before it get's better. No water for planting rice, or other crops, this year. Poor farmers are going to be devastated and ruined. And in reality, there's not much the government can do to help. We could see a record year for suicides from depression in the lower classes.

If that will cause them to burn less, then it is good news. Endless rice fields fires around the area where I live, that along with corn of course (Yes fires too). As much as I do pity them, I would rather pay more for stuff or to them to stop or at least make them burn less.

  8. Hello everyone,

I was talking to my friend recently, I was thinking of going to Luang Phrabang in Laos. A friend of mine told me that now there is a way to get to Laos (make visa) via Phu Sang in Phayao. That is very close to my place, about 100 km away.

Is anyone familiar here with the procedure of how it all works there? Is there any bus from anywhere I can take on Thai side or Laos side? Maybe anything similar to Sombat Tour. Any kind of info would be appreciated. I have also checked plane tickets, those were quite expensive around 8000 bht.

    Any info would be appreciated.

  9. I live on a quiet are and usually in the past when I flew friends drone I do it away from places that can cause any issues.

Someone here mentioned ghat foreigners are not allowed to register drones for now because some flew into restricted areas etc. So does that mean like with anything Thais never do anything wrong or bad?

Therefore we aren't allowed to fly drones based on race and or culture.

  10. Hello, just picked up DJI Mavic Mini.

Didn't know that Thailand is backward as hell with the drone registration even for those under 250 grams.  So my question is how does one goes about registering a drone ESPECIALLY NOT living anywhere close to a big city? I live an hour drive from Chiang Rai and I don't even think there any agency there that deals with it. Heard some storied that it can take up to 6 months and requires insurance and a million other documents. What is your experience and advice? Is there any guide for this.

P.S Sorry if posted in the wrong section of the forum but I just didn't know where else to put his.

To get more time you could apply for a 60 day extension to visit your wife.

If your income is  40k baht a month you could  use it to apply for the extension based upon marriage.

The police clearance is shown one the requirements shown  the Vientiane embassy website. See: http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/upload/pdf/Visa/Non-B teacher.pdf

Ubonjoe, thanks for the help as usual.

Extension out of the question as I have already used it in the past and only 1 per visa is allowed. Salary unfortunately is not 40k, as government school rarely pay more than 30-35.

Now my question to you is this (why I think previous teachers were not asked for this document)

Even though I work at Demonstration School (which is a part of the university), my contract states that I'am hired as a "specialist" not teacher. Also the contract states that I'am employed and work at University (not school) there basically isn't anything there saying that I work at a school.

    What do you think?
