K Tech is/was a construction company only (controlled by a very large framed European). The developers of the View Talay Residences/homes were Bruno, Michael and a few other Ferrari/Roll Royce/Porsche owners, who of course have had their come uppence over the years.

It was time of lots of loose money around.

That cowboy time is over, but still lots of developers with large cash reserves.

Pattaya has, and will continue to have it's phases, especially in the construction area.

    Hope this helped a bit..cheers.

I am intrigued as to how Bruno, Michael and co had their come uppance? not that I know otherwise, just if you know something i'd like to hear about it as google searches etc don't bring up much? Cheers

  3. If it was France then as a male you would have to wear very tight fitting speedos at the swimming pool....

Now if he is sitting in an enclosed restaurant area with a/c etc then you'd have the right to moan and get people agree with you but I sense he isn't?

    Enjoy your time in Thailand

  4. A good 10 years ago this situation happened to me... I met Nat a cute 23 year old who spent 10 days with me and when I came back to the UK we carried on chatting etc...

I eventually got her a fiance visa after being knocked back by the Embassy... I was aware of other people in her life and I wasn't exactly a saint and had plenty of history so made the adult decision that lets not dwell on the past and draw a line in the sand and both move forward, she came to the UK, we married and it lasted 2 years before I kicked her out... first year was fantastic but then she got a job with a load of other Thai women in a factory owned by a westerner with a Thai wife... most of the other women were divorced, seperated and living the high life... she decided she wanted a bit of that and started playing up, she's still here and has citizenship now... whatever...

don't do what I did and jump in feet first... test the relationship as much as you can... get her a holiday visa cos basically I was used as a vehicle for Nat to get citizenship... that was always the plan I think...

by the way she's a lesbian these days as well

  5. this isn't exclusive to Bangkok or Thailand... in the UK we are full of phone zombies, the city of London where the streets are bustling in commuter hour I witnessed some cretin walking through Liverpool Street station bumping into people and when I walked past him he was watching Eastenders....

    zombie cretins the world over...

I don't recall one farang suicide in which others were injured or killed. It seems hanging, jumping, suffocating oneself, etc make up the bulk here.

really nice for those at the bottom of the building seeing someone land in front of them isn't it, even nicer for the people clearing that up...

You can call your life anything you like, but you're still existing until you die, just like everyone else. Sure, you try to give it purpose, which is just another form of existing, but you're making a job out of it.

You talk about children's cancer units. A lot of the "suiciders" here probably have cancer or are gravely ill, and are not interested in living their lives out in a hospital, even if they could afford it.

    post 100.... cheers

Why is suicide the cowards way out. If you are 75+, maybe with cancer and in pain. Your life is pretty much ended. I would certainly kill myself than suffer for a few more years. My father lived as a vegetable in some UK "care" home and i wouldn't wish that end on anyone.

    post 100.... cheers

It is apparent that you have zero understanding of depression if you think that looking at people supposedly worse off is going to make us feel happy. Such a sight would only make the morbidly depressed person wish they had cancer, so the could get all the morphine they need and die without having to kill themselves.

just scared, lazy and usually were awaiting a relatives death so they could carry on doing pretty much nothing but exist for the rest of their sorry lives... suicide is the cowards way out especially if based on the above....

Attitudes like that are why some kill themselves.

    I concur!

Why should someone else decide whether someone lives or dies?

I thought it was their life?

decide all they want.... but you will find that most 'suicides or attempts' have no regard for those they are leaving behind or the people they are affecting in the process...

typical example is jumping in front of a train or off of a building, that involves innocent parties!

euthanasia on the other hand in a controlled enviroment... whole different ball game

  11. Good to know: Flights in Chiang Mai must be generally approved by the air traffic control, because the airport is so close to the city. We have obtained the appropriate permission. But you should call a few days before, so that the colleagues in the tower can coordinate with their bosses.

Foreigners that refuse to accept their time has come to an end are deluded, end up overstaying and is why you see so many suicides etc

Perhaps staying till they can't and then offing themselves is preferable to going back to some awful place just because it's the home country. Sometimes living is worse than death.

    Really???

Going back to some awful place? We are not talking about people from Syria or the Yemen or even South Sudan!

What I found is those who couldn't face returning home when they've run out of funds were just scared, lazy and usually were awaiting a relatives death so they could carry on doing pretty much nothing but exist for the rest of their sorry lives... suicide is the cowards way out especially if based on the above....

Take a walk through a childrens cancer unit and then justify why they would take that route...

Life's what you make it I say....

Foreigners with your attitude are one of the worst aspects of living in Thailand.

When you pour contempt on those who choose to live an "enhanced" Thai lifestyle (it doesn't take much foreign cash to do that) you are, in fact, pouring contempt on the Thai people themselves.

That's why, over the years, the Thais have learned to loathe your kind.

Your money is still very welcome.......but that's all.

you really think that by living like somchai on 200 baht a week is what the locals think is cool? sleeping on a coconut mat in a sweat box room for 3k per month washing your pants whilst you shower etc?

To simply exist in the country isn't enough by anyones standards, all well and good doing it for a few months if you're saving up for something or awaiting some money but those that live hand to mouth as foreigners inevitably end up needing money at some stage due to ill health or something and that's what makes those people desperate....

I couldn't afford to stay living in Thailand in the end and made the choice to go back home.... great place if you have money which means freedom of choice... awful place if you don't have any and end up being a prisoner.

Foreigners that refuse to accept their time has come to an end are deluded, end up overstaying and is why you see so many suicides etc
