From what I've read antibody dependent enhancement is massive and dramatic whenever it occurs. It would make people very sick, not just infected. I think that was the case with the much-awaited dengue vaccine.
Yes, the dengue vaccine caused the death of some 6,000 people.
Could the increasing numbers of people currently ending up in hospital be indicative of a similar situation developing?

Wow! As an Aussie, to comply for an over 50 visa, I need to be earning over $54,000 a year ($40k USD) and buy a property for $330,000 AUD!
The whole point of me retiring to Thailand would be because Australia's more expensive. Yet here, I can buy a beautiful 4 bedroom house near the beach for $400,000 and work in a job that will pay at least $40,000 a year, which is enough to live on.
In Thailand, I'd be hard pressed to earn $10,000 a year, if they even let me work and there doesn't seem to be a decent yield on any businesses there, for the high purchase cost.
These super rich foreigners are mostly a figment of Thailand's imagination!

Looks like herd immunity might be kicking in, which is good to see. I'm amazed by Thailand's death rate, which has consistently hovered around the 1% mark, well below the 5-10% a lot of countries have experienced. I always thought covid didn't stand a chance against the high vitamin C diet adhered to by such committed chilli eaters. And that assumption has definitely been validated. That's a huge plug for somtum! I'll take that over a risky shot of protein spikes any day.

What if Thais don't want the unapproved vaccine, like 50% of Aussies who aren't prepared to risk blood clot induced death for possible protection from a virus that only induces symptoms in 80% of those infected?
Haven't most Thais already had covid, therefore already having far superior immunity than what any experimental vaccine may provide?
Seems like all the covid hype was always just a huge marketing campaign to bolster declining vaccine profits for big pharma, who's increasingly losing all relevance in today's world.
They can't cure cancer (caused by bad diet and toxins). Can't cure autism (caused by heavy metals that are unsurprisingly added to most vaccines). So let's cure a virus created by Chinese scientists that the body can easily develop resistance to with copious quantities of vitamin C (oh, that's a conspiracy theory ????).

So the Thai government is intent on forcing foreigners to receive the covid "death jab" that has killed over 4,300 people. Hard to believe the FDA will ever approve any covid "vaccines", based on these frightening figures. Although it's only approved for emergency use, it's incredible so many people are clamouring to get it. Even those who are young and healthy and therefore have no chance of being adversely affected if they do catch covid.

That's good theres only been 4 deaths out of thousands of cases. They were most likely people in terrible health about to drop dead anyway. I always thought trying to lockdown Thais would be difficult. The whole country will have herd immunity shortly, while us Aussies will be hiding under our beds everytime someone sneezes for years to come ????

I've been married to an Isan girl for 11 years and we live in Australia. It's been challenging for us to figure each other out, but we've got there eventually.
Like any girl, they need unconditional love. Complaining about anything to them is like sticking a knife into their heart. They want to be appreciated at all times. Be happy for the nice meals and anything else she gives you. Praise her and support her. If she feels loved, she will probably be more inclined to assist you with jobs at home when you ask nicely. Talking about enjoyable experiences you've both shared will get a good response and motivate her to help you.
Remember that your standards of cleanliness at home will most likely be higher than hers, due to your different upbringing and living standard, so be patient and she will gradually adjust.
Financially, they're poor at budgeting and tend to live day to day. Explaining how much life costs is educational to them, but if you start number crunching and going into details, she will go into cold mode and you'll get nothing you want.
An Isan girl can be your dream come true, or your worst nightmare. It's really up to you.

Why would foreigners want to buy in Thailand? We haven't been allowed to travel there for over a year and I can't see us being allowed anytime in the future, except for brief windows of travel opportunity.
There will be new strains of the virus developing each year, made worse by everyone being vaccinated en masse, which causes the virus to mutate, as happens with the flu virus. The Thai government has already said we can't go there if our home country has a new strain. So, lockdowns and flight restrictions are seemingly here to stay. It's better for us to invest in holiday accommodation in our own countries and with far less financial risk.

So when will non vaccinated tourists be able to visit without quarantine? And how will it be determined if a person has received the vaccine? Doctors certificate, government health record or microchip implant? And how long since the vaccine has been received will it enable one to have no quarantine? As flu shots are said to last for 6 months maximum, I presume a new vaccine will need to be received within the last 6 months before arriving in Thailand. And what happens if one stays in Thailand for 2 months without receiving a booster? It seems that all of this is to ensure maximum profits to pharmaceutical companies, with the inconvenience to tourists being dismissed.
My family and I will stay away until we can freely travel without needing to be forced to vaccinate.

So, you wanna FORCE me and my half Thai family to get shot up with a high risk , experimental, toxic vaccination that MAY slightly reduce my chances of catching a virus that CAN be cured with megadoses of vitamin C?
I'll just stay at home in Australia with the THOUSANDS of dollars that I otherwise would have spent in Thailand, thanks all the same!

Never mind that it's only unhealthy people that can catch disease. But, of course, health fanatics with superior immunity will be lumped in the same basket with McDonald's eating, alcohol binging, cigarette smoking timebombs waiting to catch whatever virus comes their way. This is out of control mass hysteria at its worst. What "treatment" are we required to have? Maybe the latest (unsafe, toxic and untested) Coronavirus vaccination, that has amazingly been developed in record time? Could it be true that they were developing it months before the outbreak? Maybe the laboratory in Wuhan that developed this virus by crossing SARS with 4 different HIV genes (who published a recently removed report about it last October) were involved in the development of the vaccine, to cure the virus they created! And what about Bill Gates "Pandemic 201" exercise last October, where they practiced what they'd do in the event of a Coronavirus outbreak!
This whole outbreak stinks of massive corruption at the upper levels of combined world governments.
Good luck Thailand, with your ridiculous paranoia. I won't be visiting anytime soon!

My wife is from a village in Isan. Some years back, when rubber prices were skyhigh, an expat offered to sell me a few rai of his rubber plantation. Of course, it would have been in my wifes name, as farangs cant own land. He had no title, just a scribbled note from the previous owner saying she'd sold it to him.
After asking around, my wife found out that the previous owner was telling everyone she still held a sizeable loan against the property, despite him having paid her 2 million baht cash.
Same guy also bought a block with no road access and was attempting (unsuccessfully) to get the owners in front to sell him a right of access strip of land.
Buyer beware in Thailand!
Wealthy foreigners to own small landholdings associated with homes here agreed in principle

Might be an opportunity to buy a cheap house on 1 Rai. I'd consider it...if they consider my beer purchases from the local 7-11 to be financially contributing to the economy!
