  1. As I said in another thread

What a joke....Not only they advertise 12 hours what they gonna do, just to make sure that reds can prepare themselves in case they forgot such a major detail....

But, anyway, reds have shown already that they planned almost everything, and I am pretty sure that they have loads of generators and fuel to run them, as well as water tanks. They surely thought that this situation might happen, and have already made necessary arrangements. The ones who are going to suffer are AGAIN the people living in the area, the same that have already seen their life disrupted by these terrorists....

    So, what next ???

were you with them before this ? you seemed to know their plans very well.

  2. Bad Thaksin.

    Bad yellows.

    Bad Samak.

    Bad yellows.

    Bad Somchai.

    Bad yellows.

    Bad reds.

    Bad Thaksin.

    Bad fake reds.

    Bad army.

    Bad reds.

    Bad Abhisit.

    Bad terrorists.

    Bad reds.

    Bad Democrats.

    Bad yellows.

    Bad ..... (next) ....

It's more entertaining than the Thai TV soaps. Are there any 'goodies' or are they all 'baddies'???

    Indeed everything is bad... :)

Then why are you still in Thailand ?

  3. Quote from OP

"People started running and screaming. We were being shot at," says 19-year-old Briton Sarah Colvin, one of the many foreign tourists caught up in the political violence sweeping Bangkok.

"It shook us up a lot. We needed valium to sleep," she says, surveying the aftermath of Saturday's bloody battles just by Khaosan Road, Bangkok's iconic backpacker strip. "A lot of people we've spoken to are getting out of here."

Clashes between anti-government "Red Shirts" and security forces, which left 20 people dead and over 800 injured in the Thai capital, have delivered another severe blow to the country's vital tourism industry.

"I won't be coming back to Bangkok. Maybe the islands, but not Bangkok

So if this happens in Britain, she'll say " i won't be living in Britain anymore. Maybe in Ireland but not in Britain ". What a stupid statement. She was in Bangkok at the wrong time , Bangkok is not going to be like that FOREVER.

  4. Why did they go near the "war zone". The Reds and the army / police have no intention of hurting foreigners. Tourists will be safe as long as they stay away from the protest areas. I believe those foreigners who got hit must have gone near to "watch" or maybe to "cheer" for a particular group. Not saying that they deserved to be hit but they could only blame under this situation.

  5. Is this really how to deal with what was essentially a sit in?

n's don't break through police lines to get into parliament, army lines to get into a satelite station and army barracks.

A sit in? Sure they've been sitting at Central world putting thousands of people out of work. But they've also been running around Bangkok like maniacs provoking the soldiers, the police, the media and anyone else they can get close to. By the way don't forget that the reds often protested outside TV stations. I'm sure if they had been able they would have happily censored what was on the air. They believe in freedom of their speech, freedom for them to assemble, freedom to vote if it's for their party. The reds don't care about the rights and freedoms of people who don't share their point of view. This is far more complicated that a sit in. No one is going to accept the excuse of "we were just sitting here".

How many people were killed in those instances ..................None.

The deaths came last night/tonight. Correct me if I'm wrong.

How truly ignorant can you be? The reds have been breaking the law and have been advocating violence the whole time. They have finally got what they have been asking for and now you try to make them out to be the victims? You can fool some of the people some of the time but I don't think many will buy your rhetoric now.

Abhisit has been very calm and very balanced and avoided strong confrontation and avoided violence. Full marks.

Thaksin is solidly pushing his murky red leaders to cause a frontation and try to win.

Why? Simple, thaksin knows very well that his time is running out fast, abhisit is gaining ground quickly, more and more Thais can see that abhisit is achieving good things and he's becoming stronger all the time as he works his way through the minefiled he inherited.

Abhisit has alreday put in place policy directives which will provide a better share of the wealth, provide better education and opportunity for all Thais and this especially means the poor. (and not by poulistist handouts which fix nothing.)

The red leaders can't keep these truths from their Essan followers forever. That's why they are pushing now before their time runs out.

Best comment so far. It has everything what i wanted to say

  6. I voted for B.

However it would be difficult to disperse the crowd now. The leaders of the Reds are smart. They encourage parents to bring their children along so that they could be used as "human shields". I doubt any civilised government would use water canons or tear gas on a crowd with so many children around. The best option now is to arrest the leaders.

OK this might be a little irrelevant here. I think Thailand is probably the only nation on earth that provides mobile toilets to protesters , simply amazing.

  7. Truly amazing! I received an e-mail this morning, complete with pictures, about a school in Surin desperately in need of assistance. They are begging for any donation, however small. All this money being wasted in Bangkok on a daily basis when so much good could be done.

If anyone is interested in helping this school please send me a private message and I shall forward the e-mail., many thanks!

Please forward the e-mail to Thaksin. Thanks for your effort

  8. I'm pleased there is no violence. I hope they get their way and get an election. Abhisit isn't a bad man, he just isn't elected.

Totally agree with you. Abhisit might not be a perfect man but he isn't a bad man at all. All thais should give him a chance to govern the nation. The time given to Abhisit now just isn't long enough. Give him another year or two to prove himself.

  9. Usually they have 2 - 3 people on the same flight, and 1 will always be unlucky as the escape goat so the others get through to cause diversion at the airport. This is where the tip off has come from. One of the guys phones in anonymously. You can guarantee that over 1 million dollars worth got through on the same flight.

It does make sense. Before this i was thinking who the heck provide information to the police ?

  10. What was he doing in the school since he had already been dismissed in December ? The school should be held responsible for allowing this man to enter it's compound even after he was no longer an employee there.

your information is off: Teacher was Dismissed in DEC 2009. Incident allegedly took place prior to teachers dismissal. Allegations were maid recently. Teacher arrested at his home last Friday Night (19 MAR) Teacher was not wandering around campus of his own accord post dismissal.

Oops sorry, i got it wrong but what was the reason for his dismissal ?
