  1. Here are some descriptions of the REDS weapons they are making and hiding (Not counting guns and grenades).

BungFai = Esaan rocket. It has an explosive immunition mixture. When explores, it can kill as many people. My relative in my village lost his right leg when the BungFai explored before it took off to the sky.

Plu = An Esaan big bomb. When explores, it kills anyone close by within 10 meters range and people go deaf from a heavy boom sound.

Talai= Midium size(8 - 12 inches)round firecraker spin into the sky or to any direction. If add nails or sharp object, it can kill or injure anyone up on contact.

Paper Bolloon = the fuel is made from cloth soaked in gasoline. When light and let it go up in the sky, it can fall on any building and can cause fire.

  2. This may not relate to the topic but I would like to share some information I have interacted with.

My niece works as a housekeeper at one of Bangkok condo near LamSali intersection in Bangkapi. She told me that she signed up to be a member of UDD with one of the REDS recruiter. She paid $20bath membership fee and now has a membership card. She said the UDD recruiter told her that if the RED wins the battle with the government, all UDD members will recieve 250,000 baht cash, free healthcare for life, and 1 computer set. I asked her who would give all the promisses. She said the recruiter did not tell her anything more than that.

  3. Whats the problem, the Army are not there to attack the people.

The Army work for the people.

The people pay for their weapons and wages.

So why should the army get upset, better to have a few beers and a laugh and enjoy a little rest.

    Peace and goodwill to all.

Not entirely true that people pay their weapons and wages as these are paid from taxes, which the redshirted people aren't really helping with.

So more literally - the people in the cities are paying for the army, with Bangkok coffing up more than the others.

But we could probably discuss on how much the "real elite" pays in taxes... probably as much as a rice farmer in Isaan.

I have 20 rai of rice paddies. I pay $2/year property taxes in the last 2 years. Before that my family(paretns, grandparents, great grand parents)has never paid any taxes. I pay $600 baht/month for utility. Most people (80%) in the village of 300 householes do not have to pay for electric bills because they spend less than 100 baht/month. So it is not true to say the Esaan farmers pay as much taxes as others.

Now it is your turn to find some proof on how much elites pay in taxes in order to compare and complain. Most of the country incomes are from the business; i.e elites. Farmers rarely pay any taxes(almost non existing).

  4. Inside story of one of the RED protester: My nice's son came back from Bangkok to the village in Surin Province on Monday (4/12) for Thai New Year holiday. He is 21 and only graduated 6th grade. He works at a glass factory in Bangkok. The morning he got home, he wore red shirt(with "Disolved Parliament" printed on the front) and red sneakers. I asked him where he got the dress. He said someone came to the factory recruiting him and 2 of his friends to go to the protesting site on the weekend. He said the first day the recruiter give him $500 bath. When he went back the next day, they said the shirt was already cost 100 baht and won't give him any more money. The weekend later, they gave him a pair of sneakers ( wrong size). I asked him why he went to the protest. He said he and his friends thought they would see a Famous Thai Pop Rock perform on the stage. I asked if he understand what the Red Leaders shouted on stage. He said he head what the guys said but he didn't understand what they mean and he and his friends just sit there and drink some free 40degree alcohol(Thai Wishky). I asked him if he understand what Democracy is about. He smiled and said he doesn't have time to think about it. He just want to find something to do on the weekend to get away from the 200 sq.ft rental room he shares with 3 other friends.

  5. I've looked all over the internet to see if I could find news from another source other than the Nation or Thai Visa, can't find anything that supports this thread.

Not surprising. But there is no way to prove it isn't true either.

The rumor started from ASTV morning political talk show host. Taksin spoke person didn't deny or admit.

Or maybe, too much flyings(on a private jet) can cause fatigue, fluffy face, and brain damage(this one he has it).

  6. Thaksin's death by natural causes would be the best thing that could happen to Thailand. It would remove the element dividing the country. The 2 sides could finally reconcile if he were removed.

Love him or hate him, this is the truth. I can only hope that if this rumour is true, he dies quickly and without pain. His suffering would not benefit anyone, but his quick demise and removal from the political scene will finally heal the rift dividing the nation.

That is a fundamental truth nobody can afford to ignore. Sometimes death does serve a larger purpose, and you can mourn his passing if you feel inclined, but do not lose sight of the good that can come from it.

I'm not so sure that Thaksin's death would bring this all to an end though. There are plenty of other Shinawatras to take the mantle. Just a question of which one has an appetite for power. Yingluck seems to have ambition and she's a darn sight prettier on the eye than our man Thaksin.

I am not sure I want Thai Sarah Palin to govern Thailand.

  7. The Titel said:

"The Country's Rural Poor Want A Voice, With Or Without Mr. Thaksin. Opinion, WSJ Opinion article"

Most representatives from the N. and the NE. are the PTP party members. Are those not their current voices in the parliament?

Since I grew up in the rice farmer family far far away from the city in Surin, I believe that majority of RED supporters (Taksin loyalists) are misinformed(being lied to) about the current government from the RED TV and the RED radio. This protest is more of TAKSIN/PTP loyalties who want back powers. They don't want to be opposition party because they do not get many projects as when they were a ruling party. I don't need to explain anything more because I live there so I see it myself.

Assume that if there was an election. Phue Thai won the elelction. Who will be those rural voices if not the same people who are there now? Do they think that there will be Mr. Sorn from A. village as an Argriculture Dept MP or Mr. To from NongKai as Defense ministry MP or MRs. Yoy from clothing factory as Import Export Expert Dept?

  8. Facebook? What is facebook?

Most PAD people have access to Facebook.

Most UDD people have not even heard of Microsoft, not to mention Facebook.

Majority of Thai's no not use any "social" networking pages.

Thai's remain real people who live in families, who meet face to face and eat together and drink together.

Unlike flakey farangs who think that a computer "socal network" is important.

The younger Thai's use Tagged and Hi-5 and do not use facebook, that is only a very tiny percentage.

Therefore a poll, where anyone in the world can vote (not restricted to Thai ISP's), where the majority of users will be flakey farang or PAD activists and probably many multiple user accounts (1 person having 10 or more user ID's) is not representative of anything.

What is representative is people on the streets in Red. The local silent majority of people supporting the reds and not getting involved in anti-Red protests. The absolute (and I mean near absolute now) support from the whole North and North East, the major population of Thailand who are cheering on the Reds.

The simple fact the government is unable to do anything.

The government is weak, very weak, it does not have the support of the people, it was not the "elected" government, it is a fake "coalition of the greedy" and it needs to be dissolved and new elections held.

    Simple.

A lot of people in Issan are bored to death with the red shirts, ask my neighbours.

In a poll 2 days ago 42% of those polled want the government to continue.

The government is not weak, Anupong is. He wouldn't take action against the PAD and he won't against the UDD. He doeasn't want to be remembered like Sujinda.

In my village in Surin, there is 0% supporting the redshirt protest. There used to be 60% THAI RAK THAI/PHEU THAI supporters.

  9. In supporting some of Mr. "ozzieman05" comments, I to beleive education is the best tool to allow the rural people to make their own decision and understand the information they face, specially in politics. I also see that Taksin and REDS popularity are declining in my village and in my county and province as well.

My county's SO-SO (representative) is a PHEU THAI member. In my village, we used to be DEMOCRAT party supporters before TAKSIN. Now no one talks much about Taksin or REDS anymore. They would rather take care the families and work for their everyday living. They just want to live in peacefull way of life and improve their living. They work with local government branch (O-BO-TO) to solve most village problems.

When Taksin becamse a PM the first 3 years, he was JUST LIKE any other PM to farmers. He became popular to the rural ESARN people only when he promissed to forgive the farmers debts and then giving each village "1 million baht" loan project. The second project was the "30 baht" for life membership for health care. Both projects were failed project. Most Thai people know that. There were couple more programs he brought to the rurals but nothing were more important than those two.

I found that the debts forgiving program and the "1 million baht" project made people getting poorer and more debts. The reason is that when those country people realize that they have the government taking care of their debts, they advance more debts. They think they are getting free rides (living above their means). Nobody cares where the government gets the money from.

For example, in my village of 500 housewholes, an average income for each family is about 50,000 baht per year. They went out buying things like mortercycle(40,000 baht), TV(5000 baht), tracktors ( 80000 baht), builiding new houses(300000 baht)...etc. They would borrow some of the money from Farmer Banks at the rate of 6%/yr, and the rest from the third party who would charge them 5%/month. At the end of the year, these farmers cannot pay off debts and the interests keep adding up. All of these happened in the last 5 years. This is a mass and it is never ending. It happens to my aunts and uncles families as well.

After Taksin was convicted for corruption, most people were not beleived he was guilty. After the more they talk and listen or watch it on TV, they realize that it must be true. Then when the high court read the big rulling on Taksin and family inside trading currently, they start to see that maybe he is realy guilty ( and corrupt). They also learn more and have some information from asking people who are teachers or who have higher education.

They are now benefited from many of the programs Aphisit Govt. brought to them including free education through 9th grade, and they are happy with the program that elders over 60th now recieve 1000 baht/month govt. fund.

Remember, farmers from ESARN only work 6 months a year. By DECEMBER or January, mostly hudsbands will go to Bangkok to find temporary works, make some money for their rice seasons. They will start going home during Thai New Year from April 12 every eyar. At home, the wives will take care the houses and children. The ladies will spend the rest of the day ( 9 am - 4 pm) gossiping, talking to each other, or doing nothing. Very few read newspapers or may not be able to read. they realize on the rumors most of the time.

Before Taksin, life was very easy. Rich or poor in the village were happy and we helped each other all the time. Now, people become very materialistic, back stabbing, greedy. You cannot ask someone to help without paying them for work, not even the relatives.

If you observe who the leaders that brings the redshirt protesters into Bangkok, you will see that those are the one who gain the most from Taksin. For example, Kwanchai Praipana. He has the "Love Udon" organization and he is the big boss from NE. He brings at least 2000 protesters from UDON. Many UDON friends told me that he probably has hundred of million baht in the bank and lives in a very large house ( not money from work).

ozzieman05 wife's family is probably 400 kilometers from my village in Surin. The comments about his wife family is very similar to my village. This may tell you something that some rural people have changed their views on Taksin and REDS rally.

  10. Support is strong from who? I am not in Bangkok but I am watching live TV from different channel. People are looking for the shades because it is so hot. It is about 5 - 6000 left at Rajaprasong. Nobody goes around giving food and water beside their own people(reds).

Cars with REDS driving around are the same cars drove around yesterday.

The don't use forces because they don't want to harm fellow Thais. The deadlines keep passing because they don't want any confrontation and those crazy leaders are crazys and they can harm the city and people.

There are update news regularly on internet or tvs.

    Hi!

    What channel you are looking?

I have here only Thai television and there comes nothing about some red masses in Bangkok. Just Abhisit from time to time, He talks about thai strength trough unity. And a lot of clips with happy people waving the Thai flag are shown or your daily soaps. but nothing about red people power.

The whole red thing is a total hoax. Don't get panic. :)

Sathorn has sunshine and is quite like it is on sunday. :D

How is the weather in LA?

Thanks for asking, it's beautiful day. Here are some TV channel and newspaper online.

  11. Well, on the ground here in Bangkok support is very strong for the Reds.

Increasing amounts of traffic with red flags driving around.

I would even suggest support is growing, now that more people are seeing past the propaganda this is "just Thaksin" and realising some people are at last standing up to the elites and their corruption.

Hopefully the House will be dissolved soon and the power returned to the lovely Thai people who can have a vote and excercise their Democratic rights.

Well done the reds, and well done the people of Bangkok for supporting them, cheering them, giving out food and drink !!!!!!!

LOL ... strange that NOBODy supports your views and that they are not seen by anyone that is actually on the ground in Thailand :)

That there are SOME taxi-drivers that are pro Thaksin is true. Other than that your post is just subjective propoganda.

Well, I am in Bangkok and have proved it.

I can only suggest either those commentating here are not actually in Bangkok (likely).

Perhaps someone else in Bangkok would like to verify they are in Bangkok and then comment on the situation ? I mean, am I the only person here actually in Bangkok ? Its looking that way.

Support is strong for the Reds and its why the government have let deadline after deadline slip, they dare not use force as support is toooooo strong.

Can any other people explain why all these deadlines keep passing ? Each time the government make a deadline and let is pass they look weaker and weaker and weaker so please do not say they are doing it because they want to.

    .

  12. bBull
Now, I am in Bangkok (VERIFIED).

Red shirts have massive amounts of support from the people.

Even when the Yellow shirts put on Pink shirts for the camera's they could not get over 5000 people to go against the Reds.

Many many taxi's and motorbikes roaming the city with Red flags attached to them. Massive support from the city.

This is why the government cannot use force, they are scared all the people who support the reds quietly will suddenly rush out and put on red shirts and fight the army.

This is why the government issues deadlines and some Thai Visa posters demand "violence against Reds" but nothing happens.

Far too much support for Reds by people IN BANGKOK.

Bull, so what political party is the Red Shirts, hey??? We all know who, Bankrolled by who and only one motive to take power and be above the Law. A person who cares nothing about democracy and hides behind it and uses the sheep to fullfil his illegal aims. Blood will flow and it wont be the donated stuff at the gates recently

Right On. Thanks. Taksin is reminding me of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.

  13. It is a royalty effect. Taksin is an EX-Police officer and a very high ranking one. Reds love police but dislike army. Two of my nephews are police officers and we disagree with each others all the time.. They don't like to enforce the laws on the criminals because they are afraid of bad reputation and if anything happen in negative way, the bosses may not be promoted to the higher levels ( with higher pay).

  14. It's not a question of what Abhisit wants or doesn't want it's a question of what his Military/Amataya masters tell him to do. General Anupong retires in September and according to articles in the other English Language daily Abhisit has been contacted by both Anupong and Prem and told that he can't disolve the house until Anupong's selected man is installed as replacement, it's as easy as that.

In my opinion, I think you are a little too obsess with your quick accusation of Aphisit and the goverment. You make it look like Aphisit has no brain. Maybe he is not intelligent because he only graduated from Oxford. I don't see a problem if any leader listen to some of the advices from the army. I beleive all the leaders have to have supports from the ARMY and POLICE. We all have to live together and there is no need to keep attacking the army anymore.

  15. So, now its 9 months until the House is dissolved ...and then what ...another 12 months until elections are held? Or are they actually holding elections in 9-10 months?

From the last 2 truce talks, the PM offered to dissolved the house in 9 months; DEC 6, 2010 after the National Day, and the new election will be held on Jan 23, 2011. Red leaders didn't accept the offer. They demanded the house to be dissolved in 15 days (or by APRIL 10).

  16. All Thai governments need the support of the army. Abhisit has the support of the army now and Thaksin would have the support of the army once he gets his people in at the top. No difference there really, except for the fact that Thaksin is a convicted criminal and performed huge levels of corruption while he was PM.

Do you think the ARMY will support him or his government if THAI FOR THAI PARTY win? I am not sure about that. Samak didn't get any support from Army. Somchai couldn't order the army to stop the yellows from broke into the airport.

Now the RED LEADERs are attacking army days and nights and they are nasty, cursing, insulting...etc. They seems to make Thai army their enemy now. They chased the unarmed army out from the security points last week. If you listen ( In Thai) what they say on RED stage, you will see why I think the army is in their last point of being patient now.

  17. OK. Maybe Thaksin's money will not run out so quick. He could probably still buy the election in 9 months too.

I agree that the reds should not focus on Thaksin, but the problem is that they have to. They need Thaksin for his support. They need Thaksin because (some of) the poor farmers love (have been fooled by) him because he gave them so much (of other peoples) money.

And that's what it comes back to. It's all about Thaksin. It's all about Thaksin's money.

I agree. In my village, My aunts and Uncles and next door neighbors are already talking when will it be the new election. The more elections the better for them. They make more money. They don't care about "DEMO-CRAZY" we are talking about. They don't care who will pay for all cost of election. They don't care what platforms the parties have. And 95% of the families have had at least 25,000 baht in debt since "1 million baht" project. If any one here so obsessed with "Real Thai Democracy Movement" and want to spread your love of democracy attitudes, please spend sometimes to educate the rural people first before you start supporting this Taksin and REDS agendas. I have done my part.

  18. Depends if news broadcasting corporations become state owned and journalists critical of govt are subsequently investigated for "corruption", as happened in Thailand around 2001 to 2005.

Or how about the free speech ideals promoted by the red shirts, whereby if you disagree with them you end up with a mob on the doorstep the following day?

This guy made a reference to free speech when being asked about Thaksin with no indication of the irony of what he was proposing. Well done.

I agree with you. I am glad you point it out. I used to post my comment about this issue and someone attacked me and said it was not true. Remember when the internet became popular in Thailand during the 2000, The NATION has a webboard for posting the comment. I used to be one of the memberships. All the sudden, every comments had to be censered. Sometimes it took 3 days to see the post. It happened with BangkokPost as well.

  19. The blood-splashing was not the only black-magic ritual performed so far during the red shirt rallies. A Nation editor posted this on his Twitter account on March 26:
    9monks fr Nongkhai perform soul-destroying ritual @red rally 2day, burning Prem's, PM's, Newin's, Sutep's names in earth pots w/ chilli&salt

I can't find it mentioned on Thaivisa and therefore I am asking here in this topic if anybody can find a video of this burning of names, as I would like to add it to my collection of videos on the subject of black magic. I have been unable to find any video of it on the web but somebody more experienced may be able to find it.

    Maestro

You may want to check out www.nationchannel.com and backtrack to see if there are old viedos from 2 weeks ago. The 9 monks number is for good luck. This is why the 9 months time frame for house dissolution seems to be the same reason (my opinion).

  20. In comparison with the Panda channel....which one provides the better quality viewing ???

I am guessing you get more sense out of the Panda.....

About 21:00 PM everynight, there is a reality shows called "When Pig Fly & Talk" staring Taksin Chinawattra. It is very entertaining. The show changes location so often that make you wonder if they have their own jet to fly all the crews and actors.

  21. Taksin knows there are many Russian Mafias in Thailand, specially Pattaya where it is one of the largest redshirts supporters come from. This maybe a new business called "Terrorism" instead of Tourism.

It does not really matter if you are know by mafia or associated with them; they are there for their packet only and have no loyalties to anyone except themselves. The mafia does more than Thaksin's worth business in Thailand

Do you think they will work with a man who is washed out?

There are plenty of his money hidden in the Carribean. I believe $100 - $200 million dollars are a lot of money.

Or he can sell his island in Montenegro for a fee.
