This is a list of 51 countries that offer digital nomad visas.
Thailand - coming soon
Most of them require you to be earning atleast 2500-3000 USD per month. I would only be doing adhoc/part time work so probably not earning enough to qualify for one of the Digital Nomad Visas.

That's an interesting response and one that had crossed my mind. As I am over 50, I suppose I could just go for a retirement visa. ????

Hi everyone
I am wondering if a visa exists for online work? I'm a holistic therapist and currently based in the UK where I work from home.
My clients would be based mostly in UK but not limited to the UK due to the digital environment of my work.
Any helpful advice appreciated..as always! ????

Thanks Jackdd ... U thought so but wasn't 100% sure! ????

Hi and Happy New Year!
I entered Thailand from UK with a 30 day stamp which expires 5th Jan. Not leaving until 16th Jan and would like to know: am I able to extend again at imimmigration?

Thank you for clarifying that for me 7by7. Does she still need to satisfy the new B1 requirement as well as KOL or is KOL all that is needed?
-
Sorry . 7by7 she has a normal spouse visa. The visa is valid from 14/05/12 to 14/08/14. We arrived in the UK on 24/05. Does this mean that she can stay until 14/08 before having to extend? What type of extension does she need after this date? Is it ILR?
Thanks

I have been able to book her on the Life in UK test after phoning them and getting confirmation that the passport she will be providing as ID is indeed expired but NOT her current passport which has expired. The name hasn't been changed, so that should not pose a problem according to Life in the Uk folks.
However, her current spouse visa expires in May and although she is currently enrolled and studying Esol Entry Level 3 with Citizenship at college, the result isn't until May. Problem is that we need to apply for settlement (ILR) also early May...am panicking because I am assuming that she needs to have passed her Esol course PRIOR to applying for ILR...in which case she needs to take the B1 test which no exam centre will let her sit without a 'current' passport.
Before coming to the UK she took a test at Vantage and scored B1 in speaking and A2 high in listening.
She should have qualified for IILR when we initially made our application as we had supplied enough evidence to prove we were a couple who had been living together for 9 years but when the visa was granted (delayed) we just wanted to leave Thailand and tend to the purchase of our home in the UK than battling it out in UKBA as to why she was only granted ILE when by rights it should have been ILR.
Anyway, for now we'd be happy for her just to get her Thai passport renewed Pronto!

Thanks Ubon Joe, will make a note of these numbers!

What's the latest on Thai passport issues? My partner is in the UK and had to renew her passport beginning of January. Thai embassy London said if would take 4 weeks but still nothing. Getting pretty desperate here as she needs her passport to be able to sit her Life in the UK test before applying for ILR.
-
My partners Thai passport has expired and a renewal was applied for a month ago. Due to the political situation in Thailand the Thai Embassy in London don't know how much longer it'll take for her new passport to arrive.
The problem is we need to apply for ILR before current visa expires in May but before that she also needs to sit and pass her Life in the UK test. As we don't have her passport, she's unable to sit the test.
Just wondering what on earth we'd need to do if the passport doesn't arrive soon?
Any advice folks ?? ;(

How much good does that do if the security wants to inspect inside your baggage?
I have never had security wanting to inspect the luggage that is being checked in......

Dear tribalfusion001 - Just reading your entries makes me proud of the UKBA. You've got no chance (relying on your parents? give me a break)
No need for comments like that either!

Can someone tell me what the assessors consider to be sufficient income to support my Thai wife ( no kids) without depending upon the state?
I read it was something like GBP 71.00 per week but someone pls correct me, if I am wrong.

Does the document to be legalised have to be paper based or can it be done electronically? I know there is an option to choose but I am wondering if schools in Thailand will accept an electronic version?
