Your passport will be canceled by the embassy upon receiving a new one. However, Visa remains valid which must be transferred into your new book which can be done by the immigration that permitted you last extension.
You must have a letter from the embassy because immigration will ask for it.
-
It is absolutely illegal to send passport out while you remain in the kingdom.
there is a possibility that the embassy would reject your application if they find out arrival stamp but not the departure stamp of Thailand.
Second problem could be the TM card in your passport which shows previous date of arrival in the kingdom.
just shared my thoughts hope you will make the right decision.

it is done where you received your last extension.
you will need to make photo copies of your old passport.
first page
TM card
Visa page
fill up the form and submit.

You should have notified police about that travel agent who caused you overstayed. You should ask the money from that travel agent, not the embassy not your friends or family.
I don't believe immigration let anyone leave on overstay without paying the fine, even you pay the fine at the airport you will be detained until they check on you and your profile to make sure you don't have any criminal records in the kingdom. Once you pay the fine and you are clear they will let you leave the kingdom without any problems. I don't think you should take any risk going to airport without fine.
wish you good luck!

they may ask you ticket traveling out from Thailand, even if they refuse you 30 days extension... you would still get 7 days extension.

You can apply for VOA on your return from Cambodia, just make sure you have return flight to India. If you wish to stay longer in Thailand than the best option would be double entry tourist visa from the Thai consulate in India.
good luck!

I reckon you go there in person on 25th and show yourself to the officer that you were there before your admitted stamp expired... You sometimes not sure who you talking to on phone, it may be the information lady telling you on phone "mai pen rai" but it is you who at the end of the day have to pay the price.
good luck!

why people get bothered by being on safe side??? You should actually contact immigration 30 days prior to your visa expiry. If you are getting 7 days extension then no problem, you can even apply on Monday but you if you applying for 1 year extension than applying on Monday is no good at all.
Good luck anyway!

When you reach at Immigration on 4th floor, you will see one counter on the left hand side holding signs of Re-entry permit. I was at the airport yesterday. However, i didn't have to do Re-entry permit thing. I went there to correct the stamp of my friends passport who had wrong stamp on arrival.

Indeed a sad incident...
Thai authorities must do something about mini Van drivers. Since Toyota came up with a commuter model with modified seating's which are more comfortable than the normal one. It has gained popularity among companies or even family out goings and many jerks have bought mini Vans in order to get more income, i wouldn't be amazed if there are actually motor bike taxi riders driving these mini vans with no appropriate license or driving skills :-( bad bad

This topic seems to be going way too long,
let me just make it clear, first of all, it is illegal to send passport outside Thailand while you are inside the kingdom.
Secondly, your visa application won't be accepted in any consulate if there is no exit stamp found on your passport.
It is an old strategy that now immigration and the consulates abroad has come to know about it and the consulates will check your passport for entry/exit stamps.
I know few people whose visa applications were declined and sent passport back to their friends or relatives.
Hope this answer your question.

No return ticket required for any type of Non - Immigrant Visa.

I highly recommend you make a police report over passport lost.
Even though it has been canceled, but if it goes in wrong hands might be miss used passport itself or your identity.
To be on safe side, you should report it in near by police station.
Immigration may also want to see the police report.
Good luck!

1. You can not have two valid visas in one passport.
2. You can not obtain a visa from outside Thailand while your passport shows you inside Thailand and if you did it would not be valid or accepted.
3. Believe you will have no other option than a return to India to apply for a non immigrant B visa with full paperwork for employment.
Just received my new visa from India and my friend gonna carry it for me. still will it be illegal ? please help me ?
You are in trouble and your mistake will be spotted when you go for 90 days reporting because 90 days reporting starts from your arrival date in the kingdom.
It is also embassies mistake to grant you visa without checking your passport and most of the embassies will reject the application if departure stamp not found on passport.
I guess you have to cancel the visa you received from India and you need to travel outside thailand before your education visa expires, otherwise you will be overstayed even though your new visa is on your passport illegally.
PM me.

You will need to do it in Bangkok from now on, any address proof will do such as mobile phone bill, internet bill, rent agreement etc.
good luck!

1. Not possible to apply for a work permit on education visa, you need to have a letter from your school stating you left education only in case if you are eligible to change it to Non-Immigrant Business inside Thailand, you don’t need a letter from school if you apply outside Thailand for Non-Immigrant Business visa.
2. 90days reporting has nothing to do with the visa, as long as you are in the kingdom for 90days than you are up for the reporting.

Not to worry at all, he can get Re-entry permit easily at chaeng wattana, hope he has at least 1 picture with him.
Good idea is to get at least single Re-entry at the time of extension.
Single 1,000 baht
Multiple 3,800 baht

Your work permit application will be rejected if you are on retirement visa as working on such type of visa is illegal in the kingdom.
Stick with your work permit as long as you are working.

I then prefer to ride a horse instead of flying.
much cheaper

It is not the matter of 500baht a day fine for overstaying in the kingdom. If you get so unfortunate to get caught for passport check than the consequences can be horrible, you may never been stopped anywhere for passport check before but we are never sure what happens next so my friendly advice to you is not to overstay and if possible either get an extension at immigration for 1900 baht or just do a visa run.
-
You will need a letter from your language school as well stating that you ended your language course because your visa is related to Education.
for the rest, follow Lopburi 3's instructions.

Well, I tell you what is going on…this post is misleading and I actually don't believe in this post at all. If you were holding Non-Immigrant O multiple entry than you shouldn't be at Bangkok Immigration, you should be doing a border run to get your 90 days stamp. If you had retirement visa on your passport by fault that has to be canceled as soon as an officer spots it. You can get better advice and you can probably help yourself to stay out of any troubles if you just can scan the stamp and post it here in the forum. Cheers!
Entry Stamp But No Exit Stamp
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

They don't put exit stamp date on your departure card as they not sure which day exactly you leaving the country, or you may get an extension at local immigration. However, they will put exit stamp date on your passport.
