True - I've never seen such insects either. Without zooming on the phone camera it just looked like a small fuzzy patch of dirt near the door handle.
Too bad - can't take my car for a wash till they're gone.. haha.

Hi Pool Pros,
I rented out this house with a decent sized dipping pool in the garden. The pool measures: 14 ft (L) x 7.2 ft (W) x 2 ft (H).
While there's no pump fitted in the pool, I can see plumbing leftovers attached to the pool.
Any suggestions regarding kind of a pump & filter required here to maintain sanitary water conditions? Also how often and for how long do I need to keep the filter running?
Thank you.

Over the last 2 days a fuzzy patch has developed near my car back-door handle. Upon careful inspection today, I found them to be a swarm of tiny insects guarding a clutch of eggs. Does anyone know what insects these are?
Thank you.

Hello,
Does anybody know of any aquarium store around Ramkhamhaeng 112 (Moobaan Summakorn)? There's one right outside the village near the entrance - but the stock is hardly worth mentioning. I'm trying to find one with good stock of fish, aquatic plants & accessories.
Thank you,
Joe

Hello.
A male black Labrador (mixed-breed) has taken refuge at my home since last evening. It was pouring like crazy and the dog was running around trying to find shelter. It followed my car and came into my home. It appears to be well-fed and well-trained and is well conversant in English
Once it stopped raining we took him out several times hoping that he'd figure out the way to his home - but whenever he came across street dogs he got scared and refused to go further.
We live around Soi 24 of Moobaan Summakorn. If the rightful owner sees this post, please contact me here. I'm not comfortable with posting my phone numbers / email address in a public forum - so I guess this is the only way of communicating.
I'll come back later and post a couple of pics of him.
Cheers,
Joe
P.S. He's dirty as hell from running around in all the muck and I'm going to give him a thorough scrub. The owner needn't worry - I got two other large dogs

Hello,
Reviving an old thread - but this seems to be the most relevant place. Do you guys have any idea about the price of ready made filters like this, if I'm not upto making one on my own at this point? planemad's idea of the 350B plastic box sounds terrific and I'm going to get my hands dirty sooner or later with it.... but for now I'm trying to get a heads up about the prices before I head for Chatuchak.
I watched a whole bunch of videos on YouTube regarding these filters and seems like the most convenient way of making one would be to introduce some sort of seive like containers inside the plastic box , with each container holding a different filter medium (sponge, charcoal, gravel etc.). This makes cleaning the filter a lot easier too, as all you need to do is pull-out a specific container. The water in these filters flows sideways as opposed to planemad's top-down approach.
My question is, do you have any suggestion on "what" can be used as these filter media containers if I am to stick them into that 350B plastic box? I was thinking on the lines of those netted plastic shopping bags, but I wonder if they will fit in smugly into the box. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Joe

Dear all,
This is aimed towards corporate IT professionals who have, at some point of time, been in charge of purchasing computer parts for their respective organizations. By parts I mean, RAM, Hard Drives etc. specially for Servers.
We usually order from [company name], and while their parts are guaranteed 100% genuine, the pace they work at will put a snail to shame. On an average, getting them to fax an invoice to you consists of constant coaxing and cajoling (over phone) for at least a week and a half, let alone the time it takes for them to actually DELIVER it.
Do you have any suggestions for alternatives for me? My only conditions are:
- Timely communication and delivery - this is of utmost importance.
- Their parts must be 100% genuine and come with proper guarantees/warranties.
Thank you,
m^e
