I live in BKK and got a new passport mid 2020 which so far has no entry stamp
I was able to do a 90day report online once with my new passport still on the old system
all later ones were rejected and I had to report by registered mail
But I always try online before I send by mail
Registered and tried the new system in December, rejected
Report was due and I tried again yesterday, APPROVED !!!
No idea why, I always enter exactly the same detail

A wealthy thai friend is a great fan of octoberfest style grilled pork knuckles, ducks and geese
he thinks about opening a restaurant offering those treats
anybody has experience in this field and looks for a job or could advise us?

BTW, why don't you guys in the provinces try this recipe I found on US websites:
mix gasohol 95 with 10% water shake or stir well let it sit for 24 h and the water and alcohol mix will drop to the floor
the rest is about 93.5 octane fuel
easy to test if it works:
if the mixture on the floor is about double the amount of water you added it worked if not, it didn't work
as I live in a condo it's a bit difficult for me to try
I think it should work because I read somwhere alcohol and water mix easily but fuel and alcohol dont
they have to add an emulsifier to keep the gasohol mix stable

here is a list of caltex stations selling real 95
http://www.caltex.com/th/th/documents/stationList.pdf
it's in thai but with GPS coordinates, zip codes and Phone numbers
admitted out in the pampa it hard or impossible to get

I bought that one, but it's not big enough for the 80GS with it's tall and wide handle bar and mirrors
so the cover doesn't reach down to the floor and the dust creeps up and settles everywhere on the bike

don't use gasohol if you can avoid it
will shorten life of all rubber and plastic parts in the fuel system
there is one class of polymers(rubber, plastic) which is resistant to polar fluids like Ethanol, brake fluid etc and another group is resistant to non polar fluids like mineral oil
there is no polymer 100% resistant to both polar and non polar fluids
PTT sells 91 gasoline on most stations and Caltex sells 95 gasoline on about 30% of their pumps
some (ex Jet/Jiffy ) PTT, Susco, and Petronas stations also sell 95 Benzin
according to a BKK Post story Caltex sells 3 million liters 95 benzin / month and they have no plans to quit

planning to apply for my first ever 1 year extension of stay based on retirement end of next month
my passport has only 2 empty pages left
should I get a new one before I apply?
If yes will I have to carry the old passport with the one year multiple O visa every time I leave the country?
then I would rather get some extra pages from my embassy
thanks in advance for your advice
Robert

who in BKK sells dust covers large enough for BMW offroad bikes like the old classic 80GS
preferrably heat resistant, so you don't have to wait an hour before you can cover it

do the THB 800k for a 1 year extension of stay based on retirement have to come from abroad or not?
I have the money in a thai bank account but it came from local real estate activities
and how rigid are the embassies about confirming proof of income from abroad if I go that road
I could have my ex company in Europe write me a letter confirming the necessary regular income, which is in fact true, but not paid on a monthly basis
how deep does the embassy and Thai immigration check this?
-
thanks a lot for quick reply
very glad it still works out for me

my Non Immigrant O visa says must be utilized before september 25th 2010
I am 52 years old
planning to do my last visa run on september 23rd and stay another 90 days
can I apply for extension of stay based on retirement within those 90 days or should I do it before the last visa run
the problem is, I havn't wired the THB 800k into my thai bank account yet.
is HSBC Bangkok branch acceptable or does it have to be a "real" thai bank?

no motorcycle before year 2000 is gasohol compatible, some models even much later
in general all carburettor engines have plastic or foam floats which will be attacked by ethanol
ethanol and fuel are unmixable unless some kind of detergent like chemical is added, but the mixture isn't long term stable
after several weeks ethanol and water which ethanol always attracts from the environment collect at the tank bottom
when you use the bike again after a long parking period that's what enters the fuel system first and causes the problems you described
drain the fuel tank and the carburettor and refill with 91 gasoline
hopefully the carburettor float and other plastic and rubber parts are not damaged to much

Shell quit selling 95 premium end of May 2010 and fools some customers into ruining their vehicles by rebranding gasohol 95 as V-Power
Now only Caltex and Petronas sell the real stuff, but not on all gas stations
There are rumours they will quit too.
I guess they are under pressure from politically connected ethanol producers who cannot sell enough of their nonsense product
Gasohol doesn't make sense at all; ethanol production is so energy hungry you waste more than you get out of it
there are hundreds of thousands of vehicles in Thailand which are not gasohol compatible
I.E all engines with carburettors, diaphragm style fuel pumps, K-jetronic style injection systems, pretty much all engines produced before 1995-2000
the whole story already happened about 2 years ago, but back then Shell relented and resumed selling 95 premium and called it V-power
this time the pressure seems to be to much

A shop in Silom/Naratiwat area does scan to pdf at 5 baht/page
much to expensive for 1000s of pages I need to scan
should be cheaper than 50 satang/photocopy as no paper and toner is used
they have a photocopty machine able to do it, but are lazy to set it up with teir computer use a large A0 scanner instead
