  1. If they had announced free admission in advance, they ,may have seen a lot more than 10,000 visitors. I live close by, and free admission is news to me and all the local villagers!

I live even closer and I knew.

I was told that it was quite normal to have free entrance to public attractions on Father's Day. I wonder - dual pricing for Farangs ?

Regrettably those in the know, and who's information would especially benefit local Thais, fail to pass on this information in local forums. I spent years in Pattaya, and never knew of the Buffalo races in nearby Chonburi until after the event when the Pattaya Mail did a report.

It is the same story in Buriram,..concerts by big name artists, yet unless you live right in the town and see the displayed notices,, nobody living in the sticks seems to know until afterwards..

The Thai internet is still in it's infancy but getting there slowly. Public announcements are not yet made public??

This is a typical advert for Phanom Rung in Buriram Muang.

  2. Thanks for that rinnie.

As for the pdf file, i printed mine, front/back & no problems at all. They are really great there too if you have any questions.
Could you link to the pdf form? I've found a Vientiene Embassy form....would that do?

    Thanks

Give me a second to get it from my phone to here. There is also one that is at the top of the forum that updated, and if you look through the forums, there is a person who put one up under "worry free savahket" thread. Which is where i got mine from. Both are the same. Will try post pdf asap for you, though.

I just have to use phone more than computer due to shoulder injury

  3. They told me, i just needed to leave every 90 days or check in at chaeng whatana every 90 days durning the "use by date", which is a year from now, and can continue for the whole year. Both the consulate and border crossing, to my husband & I. It would be easier to explain the confusion in PM.

Correct. That is _unless_ you get the extension as mentioned above. Consulates don't know and don't care about extensions because it's not their business. No need for PMs as this is exactly forum discussion matter.

Ok, please don't think i am brainless lol but i paid 5000฿ multi entry visa good for entry until nov 2015. They did a stamp saying i need to leave 90 days from now. They told me i can leave every 90 days or report to chaeng wattena. Both consulate and immigration to my husband & I. For my first 6 yrs here i had non-o visa and multi re entry permit stamp due to now ex husband, then changed based on 90 B visa, then 2 ED visa with multi entry permits.

Yes, i had a valid buisness and yes i studied on my ED visas.

All i want, is to know how to do things with out leaving the thailand every 90 days. Waste of money. I have proof of income from no work due to divorce settlement & husbands job. I would love to work here, but refuse to illegally. Unfort what i do for a living, it is hard to find a job here. As i am a fitness trainier & health coach specialist lol.

I do not want to leave every 90 days. Just want a visa where i can report every 90 days. I know combined income counts. Less money spent, better on us.

  4. It is a good option for first timers or who can't meet financial requirements. But for ease, i know next year will just stay in bkk. I was told with this from Savanahkete visa, i still had to leave every 90 days for 1yr. I do love to see new sites, it does get expensive

As mentioned often. You can extend each 90 days entry for further 60 at immigration, Bt 1,900 no financial proof. That will let you use the current visa for almost 17 months.
Can you message me pm and explain more, because honestly i am totally confused. You, Ubonjoe and Mario seem to know a lot, and i prefer not to deal with the whole "western woman / thai man marriage" poop that comes up.

You have given some good info to me before.

  5. One thing, if you are apply for 1 year non imm based on anything other than marriage, they are only issuing single entry. You will have to get muti entry permit stamp back in thailand. A guy behind me was apply due to child, and they would only issue him single entry. Originally they told me, i could only get single entry, until they realized based on marriage. The officers are also very helpful if you have any questions at time of application drop off or pick up

  6. Everyone talks about going to Savannakhet as the best option. But can someone please help with the best (and cheapest) way to get there from Bangkok? I have been sitting here searching flights and it seems it is not cheap to fly there and by the looks of it, only one airline goes - Laos air & driving is about 633km. So please don't accuse me of not doing research on this. Any info would really be great. Thanks.

Check Nok Air and Air Asia for flights to Mukdahan. Both offer fly/ride service to to there via Nakhon Phanom that will drop you off at the bridge on their way there,

Then it is just it is just a matter of taking the bus across the bridge and then on into Savannakhet.

Thanks so much Ubonjoe. Love my man, but i know that long in a car, one of us would end up walking (most likely him tongue.png) I will check into that option.

  8. Dang, big diff from 54,000 lol, so that is with the new visa and multi entry permit.

Multiple entry visa do not need re-entry permit.

My non imm "O" visa my first 6 years here off my now ex, all had multi entry extensions, that renewed each year. Then went to 90 day B visa with single entry. My next was ed visa with 2 multi entry ext.

So confused on marrying thai national.

Especially where to go. And why chaeng wattena would charge that much when i know the visa itself isnt that much.

  9. Another option and VERY easy ( besides the travel hassle ) is suvannakhet, Laos Thai Consulate. They do NOT require financial proof ( 400k or 40k a month ) and no need to take pictures of u and wife together in the house and outside etc.

You arrive there in the morning ( before 11am ) and drop off:

    - Application with two pictures

    - copy of your passport

    - copy of wife's id, signed by her

    - copy of wife's house book, also signed by her

    - copy of marriage certificate ( bring original in case they ask to see it )

Come back at 2:30pm and pick up your multiple - O visa.

I just did this 3 days ago.

Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

And how much did the visa with multi entry permit cost?
Non-imm. 'O' multiple entry fee is 5,000 Bt.

Dang, big diff from 54,000 lol, so that is with the new visa and multi entry permit.

Figured a trip for my fiance, well soon husband out, will help his new passport too when i decide to visit family too.

We not only want to make it official here, but in states too.

And how much did the visa with multi entry permit cost?

Due to my divorce being processed via mail with my ex living in jakarta, me here, and lawyer in states, plus dealing with christmas, new years (and mardi gras - hey even courts & lawyers take it as a holiday in Louisiana) our papers were delayed, causing us both to delay our remarriages.

The translation service i have talked to said you can go to Chaeng Wattena Immigration and get the dependent visa & muti entry visa by yourself but fee is 54,000฿. That was 2 services.

Even if the sat there with me and to speed things up not sure worth (which they do not, they said on your own) the $ after paying for US embassy fees, translation and urgent rush at MFA, if Savannakhet is cheaper.

Can you please advise your cost?

    Thanks

PS if helps (maybe for @ubonjoe ) never had tourist visa or VOA. 6 non-imm "O" visa through ex, 90day business visa, 2 ed visa. Marriage was planned before this one expired but as i said, papers held up in states causing delays in remarrying for both my ex and i. I can't commit to new ed rules, which is why i also had to close my business. I have to fly out if my ex leaves for long business trips. I do have overseas income, through divorce, not through working. Which can be proved both by divorce papers and bank statements. Along with my own insurance also provided through divorce.

  11. I thought he suffered from bipolar disorder?   He was very hyper and that doesn't usually fit with depression.   Regardless of what demons he had, alcohol probably didn't help.   He was a dynamic actor and a credit to his profession.

I lived and worked not too far from where he lived in Marin County quite a few years ago.   I never met him, but did see him occasionally drive by.

    RIP.

Yes, he had Bi Polar  (not sure if he was type i or ii), however I understand that he was in the midst of a depressive episode - not uncommon with Bi -Polar sufferers. It's very sad.

Type 1 = considered manic bipolar more manic phases with possible hulicinations, milder depressive states
Type 2 = considered depressive bipolar, more depressive states with mild manic states
  12. RIP you brought much talent to the world.
Yes, Robin Williams suffered from bipolar (manic-depression).
Many who do, self medicate unfort through either drugs or alcohol.
Some of the most creative people, actors, & artist suffer from this. Some of the most creative "ordinary" people suffer too. Some walk among you, and you will never know, due to being in correct medicine & controlling it.
The problem right now, some drs are so fast to give diagnosis for this disorder and other ones, that people now do not take any serious, and people are on medication that do not need it.
Mental health awareness needs to be raised, and "fake" diagonis needs to stop.
I am a long time member, just rare poster.
I see some hateful comments about "jumpers", & it breaks my heart. I thought the western world was abit more aware to the these issues.
Mental health issues hit home for me hard, from friends to family.
So, please, while the comments so far here have been kind, due to Robin Williams being a celebrity (one of my favorites), take in account the other news of "ordinary" people we read about. Living in SE Asia, where mental health issues is still very much a taboo topic, it makes it hard for people who live here that do suffer from one of the various types of mental health issues to deal with.
