1. Hi All

I have a rather disturbing problem.

My name is Heinz and I am from Germany. I recently moved into a room and have settled in very nicely. However, the guy next door is seriously freeking me out.

Firstly, on the day I moved in, he baked me a cake. I mean.... Why? This wasnt a giant 12 foot Hollywood Birthday style cake with naked strippers jumping out, this was just a plane old cake with pink icing and candles in.

Then one morning whilst sleeping, I here what sounds like an electric drill at work. I wake from my slumber and notice the end of a drill bit working its way through my door. Its the guy next door again... Drilling through the front door. I ask him what the he_ll is going on and he says that he has has been voted the most popular person on the floor and as duly elected floor manager he does not have to explain himself to me. he just walked off. I dont know if I am being paranoid or not but sometimes I feel like he is looking through it.

Then one evening he knocks my door and hands me a pillow. He says he finds them very handy at point of climax and suggested I use it. Insane behaviour! Why does he assume I need to climax so often? All I ever do in my room is watch Animal Planet on True Visions.... I love the shows featuring whales, ape's and lions.

Now whenever I see him, he ignores me and kinda looks away muttering something about "issing Lucas"

ANy ideas on how I can make him less strange?

  2. Hi All. Nine times out of ten when I try to dial out using my Blackberry Bold 9700 on True Move I am getting an error that says No Circuit Channel Unavailable.

Has anyone seen this error before and if so, is it a carrier issue or a handset issue - and how to fix? IThe phone is only a month old.

I realy dread going to the True Move shop. They always look at me like I just asked them the square root of nine or something. Totaly clueless.

This has been happeneing for around 2 weeks now.

  3. I recieved an SMS from Bangkok Post a while ago. It asked me if I wanted to recieve breaking news for 39 Baht a month. I subscribed because it was during the Bangkok riots and it was usefull to get the latest updates on what was happening.

Now that there is nothing interesting for them to report on, they are sending me any old rubbish through. It is incessant, relentless boring "news" and it hits my phone so many times in one day that it feels like I am being stalked by them.

I went to the website for SMS news and it says "to unsubscribe *451390999..... What are you supposed to do with this? Send it as an SMS? Include the star? Try it with a hash at the end? Dial it? WHAT??? I tried all of the above and none of them worked.

Some of the crap they send me.... I have no idea who in there right mind would consider "breaking News" it litteraly sends me to sleep through sheer boredom.

Some recent news bits sent to me:

"Former PM Surayud Chulanot said Thailand will prosper if there are more good people. He called on youths to sacrafice and work together for the country"

Amazing. Former PM says Thailand can be a prosperous country if Thailand somehow 'has more good people. What a true intelectual and I am so pleased that I was woke at 6.30am to be alerted to this mans genius.

"Sombat Boonngamanong, editor of lai Jud newspaper, who was just released on bail, afirmed he will tie red cloth at Ratchaprasong intersection on Sunday"

Wow! Did he realy 'afirm" that! Oh my God! Has anyone alerted the global media? Some bloke from some newspaper is tying a red cloth around a lamp post on Sunday! Shall we all head to Bangkok and take photo's of this historic event?

"PAD lawyyer asks EC's political party registar to check if UDD leader korkeaw pikulthong is qualified to run in the July 25 by election in Bangkok"

Im glad this was brought to my attention as it gives me and the lads something to talk about down Soi Cowboy this evening. I just hope the music in Tilac bar isnt too loud as it will be a joy to discuss this alarming news in detail"

Do you know what I mean? Its the most dreary, boring stuff and its served up a dozen times a day. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to unsubscribe from this?

  4. Funnily enough, I posted the same question on the same day as you. Shabu Shabu was suggested to me also and after speaking with them I decided on Pinnacle. Though Earthborn came a very close second. What swung it for me is that the earthborn has chicken product in it which could be beaks, feet, bones which is not too great. And the Pinnacle is grain free which is brilliant.

They are both excelent premium foods though.

If you deal with Shabu Shabu ask for Faye. She spent ages giving me impartial advice and was very helpfull.

Im pretty sure she gave you wrong information. The quote below is the correct info. Earthborn doesn't use any by-products. :)

On the whole, it is best to steer clear of foods that use meat by-products. If you must feed a food with by-products, at least choose one that lists the specific source. For instance, chicken by-product is not a great protein source but it's better quality than meat by-product. Meat by-product is a mix of beaks, feet, feathers, hooves, hair, tumors, and other low quality products made into a meat mix.

Hi. That quote just repeats what I said..... So Im not sure why you are correcting me? The quote states that by products is comprised of beaks, feet etc - and thats what I said also.

Also I should just point out that Shabu Shabu did not give me the ingredients for Eartborne - I looked it up on ww.dogfoodanalysis.com Shabu Shabu actualy said that Eartborne Puppy Vantage would be the best food they have for Puppys.

Oh well. (EDIT for some reason my next paragraph has jumped down to the bottom, see below sentance begining with HOWEVER) !) I must have just mis read it. Its not a problem though as Pinnacle is very high quality and its grain free which is a bonus. Like I said, they are both real good kibble.

The things we do for our dogs eh?

Good luck with your pup. Imk sure the Earthnorne will make him/her feel 100% again in no time.

HOWEVER - it seems io was wrong on earthborne using by products.... I just looked on the review website again (hoping to quote them and prove you wrong lol) and I must have read it wrong. It contains meat products, not by products. I totaly mis read it which is a shame as I was going to go woth Earthborne in the first place. I changted my mind as I thought it said by products.

Carnac - Pedigree chum is one of the worst foods you can buy for a dog. Its just full of filler and complete crap. Its almost like the McDonalds of dog food. Most people think it is good food simply because it is well branded. However it is cheap, easy to find, tasty and its not going to hurt the dog as such - but it is not very healthy.

  6. I have not used them for a while, and their web-site does not seem to be working, but I have bought a number of things from ShamuShamu, based in Bangkok, who are specialist mail order suppliers for dog and cat owners and have a very good selection of dog food. I noticed their quarterly magazine in the news agents recently, so they must still be in business.

The contact numbers for them according to the internet are 02 212 9172 in Bangkok and 076 217 329 in Phuket , e-mail: //removed as per forum rules//

Try boiled egg instead of scrambled. I have never used Eukanuba so you should check the bag's label to see if you are actually correct to add broccoli, etc and if it is suitable for a young puppy; most dry foods recommend that once a dog is eating the food you should no longer mix it, add gravy, etc.

Thanks John, appreciate the feedback. Yah I did indeed make a mistake when I began mixing.... Now she will only eat the dry food if it is mixed with something. Ill try calling the shop tommorow, thanks for the suggestion.

  7. Hi all

I have a 15 week old American Pit Bull Terrier. I currently feed her Eukenuba large breed puppy I could not get my hands on medium breed (2600 THB for 20 Kilos). Mornings I mix with scramble eggs and egg shells. Lunchtime I mix with broccoli, cauliflower and dinner I add just a small amount of Pedigree Chum to add a little gravy taste to the food.

Its not working out that well. Her poops are not solid and she farts all the time.

I am looking to buy premium dog food but down here in Hua Hin it is not available. Does anyone know any places in Bangkok where I can buy premium imported dog food? I dont care how much I just want to give her the best. Brand suggestions would be appreciated. Eukenuba is supposed to be premium but it dosent seem to be working out to well. Also it has corn in the ingredients which is not to great for this breed of dog.

Science Diet, despite the hype, is not too great for dogs. Its advertised as one of the best premium foods but realy its no better than tinned Pedigree Chum.

    Many thanks

  8. Hello Isarn dwellers. Ill be staying in Udon for one night this week and need a nice hotel/room with wireless internet in room. I stayed in Udon last year at this pretty big hotel figuring it would be ok and I was realy disapointed.... If anyone can suggest a nice enough place that would be great. Ill probably want to nip out for a beer so close to the bars would be nice but not essentialy. Quality of room is more important.

I did google this but would prefer advice from locals.

Thanks so much

  9. Hi all. Just a couple of simple questions..... I went to Vientiene to obtain a TV around 6 months ago and im sure I remember applying in the morning and picking it up in the afternoon.... I cant remember 100%. Either way does anyone know if this is still the case? Or is it next day pick up?

Also what is the latest you can apply in the morning? Just trying work out flights and stuff...

Anyone ever used the agents outside for a same day service and if so, how much?

    Many thanks

  10. Here is my take on HH:

I have been in Thailand for years..... I started in Koh Samui for a couple of years (brilliant, bags of fun) moved onto Bangkok for a year (mixed feelings about that) and did a few years in kanchanaburi (real nice place, lush, mountains, waterfalls... Lovely little place with nice people but completley underwelming, very limiting)

Now I am here in HH.

Everything is subjective guys. There is no 'nice place' or 'bad place' it all depends on your own perspective. Thousands - litteraly thousands - of ex pats rave about Pattays like it is the mother of all places tolive. I would rather donate a lung than live there - and thats why its all subjective. We all want different things.

HH works for me, I think its ace. The people seem nice, the food is great, there is a decent enough choice of places to go in an evening and its generaly just a chilled place to live.

The only area that I struggle with is finding buddies in a new town. I remember moving to Samui years ago and within a month I had an army of top class pals who would be up for anything, anytime. Here in HH, it does seem to be mainly older dudes, which is fine by me.... But Im in my mid 30's so kicking around with a group of blokes twice my age isnt realy gpoing to work on a weekly level. I guess heading down to Soi Bintaban and knocking around that area will unearth some new guys to knock about with but to be honest, I cant be arsed with the beer bar scene any more. I have done that to death and have no interest in it any more.

Moving on to another great point about this place - I seem to be having a fair amount of luck with the local birds. I mean real birds - shop workers, hotel staff, real locals.... I have only been here for 6 weeks but on that front, it is happenening in a nice way. I have taken a few chicks out for dinner just by meeting them in random places. That didnt realy happen for me elsewhere in LOS.

Its sound down here in my opinion. I have no complaints.

I know someone who wants a lung, care to donate?????

As a young sexy man you wouldnt miss one would you,and if you cant pull chicks(your term) or nice ladies at your age then there is something very wrong with you.

Hmm. I am interested.... whats the corralation between young/sexy and lung donation? I wont miss a lung if I am under 40 and good looking? (didnt realize we had met?)

It would not be a good idea to donate a lung if I was old and ugly?

What if I was young and ugly - does that tick the right boxes or is it strictly for the young and sexy demographic?

Further more is someone or something making me move to Patters? I mean... I meant it as a tongue in cheek joke..... But now you have me worried. Do I have to move there?

Now thats out of the way..... Did I mention in any of my post that I cant pull chicks? (not my term actualy, its a global saying that has been used for over 60 years). I mentioned that I personaly find it easier to meet local girls with real jobs in comparison to elswhere in LOS. So yes, I can pull *enter less iritating slang word for female here* and have no problems doing so. I hope I didnt touch a nerve with you there.... if you are struggling in this area, I will be happy to offer a few pointers. Just dont bight my head off, ok?

  12. Hi guys. Does anyone know how to log into the True city wide wifi? I was directed to the True web page but bloody hel_l its frustrating... There are a handfull of options - all wildy contradicting each other - for example on the one hand they are offering you wifi for 90 THB an hour and then another option is to take it for a few hundred THB for the month? Regardless of the different packages I cant see ANYWHERE to sign up for anything. Its typical Thai web style.... Loads of bloody animated flash, info on the offers, but not one single button anywhere that says 'buy now'

    Sorry Im ranting

If it helps, I am a True Move pay monthly customer allready with my Blackberry.

  13. Guys I have a total nightmare here - I hope someone can help.

I use 3BB broadband in Hua Hin. I also have an email account with Go Daddy that I have used with no issues through outlook account for some time now. 2 days ago I started having issues with my email through Outlook....

I can recieve ok (after ages waiting for send and recieve to process) but I cant send. My emails just 'hang' in my outbox for ever. I called Go daddy and we went through the settings and all seems fine.

Also I am sending and recieving ok from my Blackberry.

Go Daddy support suggested I contact my ISP (3BB) and use there settings for outgoing mail. Does that sound viable to you people?

I cant even log into Web Mail with go daddy..... All other Go daddy pages are fine but whenever i try to log onto there web mail https://email.secureserver.net/login.php I just get a dead page saying 'Can not display page' in IE and 'Connection was re set" in Firefox.

Please help!!!!! I need my emails for work and I cant send/recieve 50 odd emails a day from my Blackberry!!!!!!

    Best

  14. Guys I am sorry for the delay in replying - Inyernet issues - I realy appreciate all of your help and advice and in particular Gerry In Asia and HH Ferang with some brilliant pointers.

Phuket may be better but to be honest, its just too far south for me. I like to be close to BKK. ANd anyway, I like it here in HH. I tried the Him Nam Suay on Saturday night and had a great crack. Must stay off the Thai whisky though - bugger me I made a bit of a cock of myself, dancing like a prat. Hilton Disoc was checked out on Sunday night and I didnt think too much of ti to be honest.

HH Ferang i went to bernies bar and asked about society. They also have a guy that is selling a membership at a local course..... 130,000 with 9 years left. I may look at that also.

    Thanks everyone

  16. Shotime thanks for that. Ill check that out. Even if its a busy day it should be possible to get 18 holes in, at a push.

MITM thats great news.... Do you know if they have a league or anything? The next step is to find some people to have a knock with.....

  17. Hello people. I have just moved to Hua Hin and could use a few pointers if anyone has the time to post? Im sorry for the 20 questions and I dont expect too many people to reply but you never know. Thanks!

    1) Squash court anywhere? I doubt there is one but figure no harm in asking

    2) Nice Thai food. SIlly question I know as there are lots of nice places to eat. But what I mean is.... Somewhere thats easy to park the car outside, not high tourist prices. I have been eating at the place opposite McDonalds - I think its part of the hotel there. Thats realy great food but im bored of it now and need other places to check out.

    3) Golf. Everywhere is so dam_n expensive! Is there no courses where I can just turn up and have a knock for like, 1000 Baht? It all seems to be 2/3000!

    4) Nightlife. What pubs would you reccomend for a mixture of locals, a few tourists, nice girls to look at, and big screen tv for football? I have had a mooch around the beer bar sois but nothing jumped out at me. Those bars are great for a single bloke like me to have a bit of 'sanook' but as a single bloke with no pals down here yet i dont want to bar hop from beer bar to beer bar having the same crap conversations with all the girls you know? I need a decent pub I guess

    5) I here there is a decent Thai nightclub just outside town with live music, real popular with the Thais. I forget the name now but its a well klnown place. is it the sort of place where a bloke can just walk in on his own and have a beer?

    6) Hilton Disco. Any good?

    7) are there any beach bars in HH?

    8) Dog breeders. Im thinking of buying a nice sporting dog... American Pit, Bull Terrier or something like that. Any breeders in HH?

    9) where do all the non bar girls hang out? Any decent pick up spots? I just mean for chatting up a few girls and having a laugh, nothign seedy like.

Cant think of any others for now.... Thanks in advance for any pointers you can give!

    Cheers
