  1. You think the UK is bad.. you should try the Spanish Embassy! Bloody Night

mare. Demanding documents to be legalized that are against EU law. We had to have the Police Clearance Documents Legalized ( another nightmare with Thai Police and Ministry Of Foreign Affairs IN Bkk) We live in Phuket and having to travel to Bkk every time they demand new requirements is expensive and against the Laws which they supposed to uphold. The problem is however is that you never see a Spaniard person but a Thai and they only know black and white... nothing else!!!!!

    Where were you married?

If the UK only the legalization  of it by the legalization office in the UK should be needed.

Hi.. we were married in the Philippines. We have a Philippine validated marriage certificate but this seems to cut no ice with Spanish Embassy.. They are also demanding police clearance legalized which we have now done but getting scammed at police station!

  3. I am wondering if any of you guys have had any dealings with the Spanish Embassy in Bangkok. The first problem we have encountered with them is our marriage certificate. I am married to a Philippine National for the last 10 years and the Spanish Embassy want our marriage certificate legalized and reconsized by the UK Embassy in Bangkok. The UK Embassy cannot give this recondition and have stated only a court of law in England and Wales can do so. I have no idea how to go about getting a court of law in UK to do that but I imagine it will take a long time and I am here in Phuket. The thing is I understand the requirements the Spanish Embassy are asking for is illigal under EU Law but they will not accept this. They also want Police Clearance Certificate legalized by the Tha Ministry od Foreign Affairs. We have obtained this already along with medical certificates for my wife. We were hoping very much to start a new life in Spain having g lived in Thailand for 15 years but it's looking like our hopes are being dashed just because of the marriage certificate fiasco. If you have had similar problems would you please let me know and did you resolve them with the Embassy.  Many thanks for any advice.

I did see the gardener use a mask when spraying the grass with this. We dont let the dogs on the grass except for a while at night for feeding but we did keep them off for a couple of days after spraying with this. Keep the spray close to the ground and try to do on a non windy day is all I can suggest.

Thanks so much for your kind info. I am trying to find a suplier in Phuket. If I cannot find one do you think your supplier will post to Phuket if I pay postage?.. Many thanks again for all your kind help

  5. Hi Rod.. Many thanks for your kind reply. I was wondering what your routine was... How long did you spend in the pool and what excercises did you do what other excersises did you do out of the pool. I am using a static cycle and having 2 hard 15 min sessions on the bike. Then I spend 40 mins in the pool walking forwards and backwards and doing stretching excercise  too. I'm sure if I follow your routine it will help me a lot when I have the operation on the 19th next month. I'm also overweight but now on a strict diet. I have lost over 7 kilo in just over a week.. and aim to lose a total of 15 kilo before my operation. Again many thanks for your input I really apprecite you taking time out to help

  6. To have both knees done one at a time is 300000 baht. They also said they could do a better price if I have both done at the same time. The reason is there will be only on cost for doctor and operating time plus only one cost for anithatist.  They never told me the saving to have both done at the same time but I have to go back to the hospital on the 28th September so I will get a full quote then.

  7. Thanks for your reply Rod... The reason I'm having both done at the same time is financial.  I am saving the cost of 2 anithatist and surgeon fees and operating time. I'm now thinking the same as you though and now it's in my mind just to have one done at a time. It will be more expensive but I do want this to be a success.  Thanks again for your valuable advice I really appreciate your comments.

  8. Next month I go into hospital for a double knee replacement. I have been preparing  as best I can with excersice on a static bike and excersice in the pool, with walking and jogging in the pool as well as other excersice.  I was wondering how other guys who have had knee replacements managed and any advice would be warmly and gratefully received. I know I'm in for a torrid few weeks after the op so again if any advice post op would be great.

  9. Since the water company has dropped the pressure of our supply and don't look like they will turn it back on soon I need to find a truck supplier. That might be easier said than done as it seems the wells are drying up in a lot of areas. Anyway I live half way from Chalong Circle to Central Festival. If anyone knows a delivery service who can deliver water please be so kind and give me a contact number. I have a 10000 litre tank so I will need a large lorry. Thanks for any assistance

  10. I have a mag box which u can buy from Aliexpress for about 2000 baht Inc delivery by DHL. Then you can buy a UK package from TVAWAY (see their website) which gives you all the UK channels Inc all the sky channels, movies, sport, plus all BBC ITV All Discovery Channels...The list is endless and excellent value at about 1100 baht a month. Picture quality is great. Plus for a internet service it's very stable. Also have 2 week catch up tv on most channels.

  11. Hi Guys.. I need to have knee replacement surgury soon. Pain is starting to get to me now. I live in Phuket and been to the local hospitals here and the going rate for Farangs for this operation is about 250,000 baht per knee to include aftercare. I need both my knees doing so 500,000 is a lot of cash to find. My other option of course is to go back to the UK and have to wait 6 months while I register being a expat then go on the waiting list so I guess at least another 6 months so have to live in the Uk for a year which does not appeal !!! The doctors told me here that there is a dual pricing policy for Thai's and Expats although they never told me what the Thai price was. So I was wondering if any of you guys had the operation and what did it cost you. Is there a hospital in Thailand that does not operate a dual pricing policy? As i said 500,000 is a lot to find and would take most of my capital which I keep for emergencies. If any of you have any constructive advice I would really appreciate it..

  12. So to summarise: CTH are still around, still as inept as ever and this thread title is absolute bo***cks?

You should all contact www.tvaway.com See what you get for 1100 baht a month. You will never go back to CTH or true ever again
