  1. First, I always work with Thai lawyers on a success fee to handle any case.

A lawsuit was filed by be me against the Royal Thai Police in the Administrative Court for failing to issue my residence permit.

It was a long process, first started with negotiating to withdraw the lawsuit, which I didn't, then intimidation, I was declared a persona non grata, which has to be challenged in court as well, and as the police were without success, harassment was next in there playbook.

Now you will be surprised how much manpower the police has, wherever I traveled in Thailand police followed, if I returned from abroad, I was picked out of the line for throughout checkup.

Finally, it went to the Supreme Administrative Court for the final verdict where the court ordered the Royal Thai Police to issue my residence visa within 14 days. In fact, I picked up the resident book the very next day as nothing happened.

So at least in my case, the Central Administrative court and the Supreme Administrative Court is a straightforward institution where a foreign national can get right against a powerful government organization.

And is this being reported in the Western Press? NO. They are a disgrace

What is a disgrace??? What do you contend that article says that US news sources have not said?

    --------

The owner of the white Volvo truck that is said to have carried the BUK missile that reportedly shot down Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 has provided new evidence in the investigation. According to the latest report, the evidence provided by this man indicates that pro-Russian rebels are involved in the missile strike.

MH17 breakthrough: owner of Volvo truck that transported missile fears for his life

The world is one step closer to locating the separatists who shot down Malaysian Airlines flight MH17.

The owner of a Volvo truck that reportedly smuggled a BUK missile into Ukraine that downed flight MH17 has been found and now fears for his life.

Yes, of course. It is easy to recognise. We know our vehicles. Yes, it is ours, he confirmed.

It is the only Volvo with such a cabin.

This is propaganda, the fact that Ukraine, NATO and US refusing/fail to disclose technical evidence (radar, satellite and communication of traffic controller) point the finger to Ukraine authorities.

  3. so how many against 20mln voters and millions, who were prevented from voting?

You mean the 20 million of which around 50% voted NO, and the rest were a couple of million for assorted parties and 8 million buffalos for the PTP.

The ones obstructed were not PTP strongholds and I think the 2% in some provinces that turned out in the re-runs says it all really.

    The real majority are speaking.

    Not the 8 million MINORITY!!!!!!!!!

    The other 40 MILLION VOTERS!

Well over a million on the streets, and the rest voted with their feet.

Of the 40 million in un-obstucted areas, 20 million did not even bother to vote. 10 million who did voted NO and the other 8 million who didn't get the chance to vote would be pretty much all NO votes, and not a single vote would have been PTPO anyway.

So stick that in your pipe and smoke it pal.

    Wow

With numbers like that the PDRC must be so excited by the chance of a new election, they are bound to win.

Well said....but you should understand, the PDRC are not a political party....plus they do not want elections until reform....

In last election only 1/3 of eligible voters choose one of the 53 political parties. 2/3, the majority did not vote, were vote-no ballots or invalid.

  4. Suthep is correct in stating that the people are the real owners of the country. The people have spoken through numerous polls from different agencies all having stated the same thing. Elections after reform. Polls have been used since the 1820's to survey a populations opinion between elections. For around 200 years people have turned to polls and extrapolated the information for their needs. Over 200 years all over the world polls are used and they have worked, they have given a strong indication of what the peoples opinion is, but in one pocket of the globe and miraculously only during thaksins tenure are polls not a true indication of the peoples opinion. Why? Simply because that opinion does not suit the PTP agenda. After thaksins tenure the polls will go back to normal again.

So Suthep you're on the right track and the voice of the people can be muffled as it was when an amnesty bill was passed against their wishes, but rest assured their voice cannot be silenced.

And as the polls have indicated and as the failed election has indicated, you do stand behind the majority until a referendum states otherwise.

It saddened me to see that the voice of the majority is respected when it suits a PTP agenda, but is ignored and excuses made up when it does not suit the PTP agenda. That is not democracy.

You do realise that an election is the ultimate poll?

Well, in last election only 1/3 of eligible voters choose one of the 53 political parties. 2/3, the majority did not vote, were vote-no ballots or invalid.
  5. "Therefore, CAPO would like to urge the leaders of all political groups to refrain from any act of provocation and confrontation," Mr. Tharit said, "The leaders should be aware that their actions will severely affect the country".

Mr. Tharit get it right please, a group of Redshirts beat up a Buddhist monk, not a protester of a political group.

  6. "Jatuporn new UDD chief"

Jatuporn has effectively been the leader anyway, with Thida being a very good spokesperson.....It is only natural that Jatuporn take over, now that the Elite are trying to complete their plan to eliminate another elected Govt., via their agencies, etc.

Some of the derogatory comments made about Jatuporn in above Posts, perhaps reflect an underlying fear by PAD-Dem's. that they are up against formidable forces and Opposition now, unlike in 2006.

Jatuporn has massive support within the pro-Democracy Movement. In trying to denigrate the organization by impugning negativity due to lack of elections, one must remember that this is not a Political Party. One can say with certainty, that the Elite better not underestimate his leadership and the respect he garners throughout the UDD. To try and discount him, they are attempting to diminish a major Political figure within the Pro-Democracy Movement....They do so at their own endangerment should they persist in their anti-democratic ways.

"About 6,000 red shirts gathered at Ayutthaya's provincial stadium..."

Yeah right.....Consider the source when reading this.

I won't get into a numbers game, but from those who were there, there is talk from those who were there, that there was not even room to sit anywhere, never mind the mass outside the main venue.

The anti-UDD/PTP media is playing the same game they did during the build-up of anti-coup forces after 2006 and before 2010 R'song. Both ignoring the huge build-up of pro-Democracy and Anti-coup forces and rallies, and grossly under-reporting them, as in above quote.

Then when the Movement hit Bangkok, there was feigned surprise by the media, and genuine surprise by those who believe what they were told.

That is dangerous however, as those who support the Elite, have no idea what they are up against, until it is too late. The PAD-Dem rank-and-file in their support of endeavors to eliminate another elected Govt, and avoiding parliament by exercising Opposition through their user-friendly judiciary and Agencies, underestimate the pro-Democracy forces at their own peril.

  7. "....It said it had approved the sale of 180,000 tonnes after negotiating with winning bidders.

The ministry said it had also approved the additional sale of 500,000 tonnes to exporters ..."

"The money expected to be earned from the two lots is around Bt8.5 billion to Bt9 billion," Kittiratt said.

If 9 billion bht, that's 1320 (odd) baht per tonne. Sounds a bit high. And why, if the sale is finalised, is there not an exact amount?

"...11.62 million tonnes of paddy rice with the government worth Bt190.81 billion, ..."

    1700 (odd) per tonne?

Think you should look for a new calculator coffee1.gif

    190,810,000,000 / 11,620,000 = 16,421

According to Reuters calculations, the rice was sold at an average 12,300 baht ($380) per tonne an not 16,421 baht which accumulate to a loss of over 100 Billion Baht at today’s market price. And this is just for this harvest.

The price of the milled rice stored in its stockpiles, estimated at around 24,000 baht per tonne. Today market price is around 10,000 baht a tonne, but no one would buy rice from the government at market prices to resell it at market prices. They would get nothing.

  8. “He explained that he wanted the UN to help mediate the conflict to prevent the possibility that the conflict which was marred with violence could descend into a civil war which would give a pretext for the UN to intervene anyway.”

So Mr. Caretaker Foreign Minister Surapong would you confirm that Yingluck is lying as she said the other day to CNN that no "serious incidents" and no violence had occurred over these 4 months political protests.

  9. It was a fair and balanced report on CNN. It is no surprise that some posters will find that objectionable

    Well, we all know that she is lying to CNN;

Yingluck answered that she is the one making decisions in her own capacity and leading Thailand by herself free of Thaksin, that NACC has not started an investigation on her, as well that no "serious incidents" and no violence had occurred over these 4 months political protests.

  10. I do have a question, Ambassador Kristie Kenney

2,800 human beings are dead because of Thaksin Shinwatra's "War on Drugs" In 2007, an official investigation found that more than half of those killed had no connection whatsoever to drugs.

Why does Thaksin Shinwatra, get to wander around the United States, with a US visa, free of any consequences for the lives of the 2,800 he ended during his regime's time in power?

  11. Distributing home-addresses of people being protested against, to an angry mob is certainly incitement to commit assault. It is a serious crime in itself, and becomes a much more serious crime if any of the judges or their familes are actually threatened, intimidated or attacked.

PTP are of course no strangers to crime, and working hard to change the legal definition of who in society is subjugate to laws, from 'everybody' (the old-fashioned outdated system) to 'everybody except our families, friends and card-carrying supporters'.

Whether or not this was a criminal act is debatable.. No threat was made against the judges. The suggestion was that if you disagree, call or write the judges and let them know. What is not debatable is that it was an idiotic act and inexcusable for a representative of the government to have been implicated in such an activity. The man should be sacked from his position immediately and he must be reprimanded and sanctioned for such behaviour. A person in a position of responsibility must not act in this manner.

Police tightens security after charter court judges receive threats

BANGKOK, 7 June 2012 (NNT) – The Metropolitan Police Bureau is deploying additional police personnel for the security of Constitution Court President Wasan Soipisut and 8 other judges, following threats made against them.
