  1. Is Schweppes Thailand pulling Tonic Water from their product line and replacing it with C+? I am struggling to find Tonic in expat shops... Any other similar products that could replace Schweppes Tonic and where can I purchase them?

  2. If she signs the paper, she will not only forfeit her bonus, but will also not br able to receive her dismissal payment (6 months of salary for over 3 years with the same company). If the Regional Manager wants her out and she has not done anything wrong, she needs to pay up

  3. What about tennis??? Disappointed the Davis Cup final is not programmed for all games, especially if some channels are showing non-live content... Davis Cup final is kind of a big event...

Other than that, quite happy with the quality and pricing of the service

  4. This topic has been debated by various states (e.g. France, Russia, etc.) claiming that travelers who were in the international zone of an airport were not subject to the national law (this position was taken to deal with illegal refugees). However, the European Court of Human Rights stated that despite its name, the international zone does not have extraterritorial status and that regardless of national legislation to the opposite, individuals in the international zone were subject to national law. Jurisdiction extends to the entirety of a state's formally recognized territory, which includes the airport's international zone. Therefore, until a plane is airborne, a passenger is still subject to national legislation.

  5. I get all my suits and shirts from Tailor on Ten on Soi 8. They have a very good website with all the prices included. I usually go for the 16K suit which is excellent quality. The owner is Canadian and delivers what us asked from him. Have a look.

  6. I have been covered by April Mobilite for 1.5 years and have made 3 OPD claims so far. The first two went through, albeit requiring me to follow-up with them.

The third claim appears as paid out on my client intranet on 30/10. As the money did not show up on my account, I followed up with them and they informed me it had not been processed as my SWIFT code was missing. My banking information has not changed, so it seems unlikely they do not have this info. I must say that the broker in Switzerland is very good and responds promptly. He is now following up with them and I will let you know the outcome.

Out of interest, does anybody have another company to recommend with similar terms as April Mobilite?

  7. Very easy for a small bag of powder to slipped in and then taken out during such searches. You in trouben now, go monkey hout long time.

As Thaksin said, there's nothing under the sun that the RTP can't do.

That includes torture and murder of thousands of people btw.

That's the very same barstool paranoia that suggests a Westerner is always in the wrong in a car accident etc...

Does anyone know anyone (first hand) who has been stitched up by the Police planting something at a search ????

Happened to me about 2 years ago at the Ratchada-Praram 9 intersection. It was 5 am and they were randomly controlling cars (no roadblock or anything). They shined the flashlight in the car and asked me to get out of the passenger seat. They had me empty my pockets (asked politely) and were joking around. A policeman then slipped his hand in my pockets and produced a straw which was cut off. I was informed that it contained drug residues and that I was in trouble (2 of his colleagues were there to testify of the finding). I was escorted to the little police booth on the side of the road and the game was on. Complained (a lot), but they did not really care. After about 90 minutes, I gave up and was forced to contribute to the police fund. The "donation" started at THB 50K, which I brought down to THB 15K. They were nice enough to show me where the nearest ATM was and were very thankful once the matter was settled and I was allowed to depart.

It is in your right to (politely) decline having a policeman put his hands in your pockets (pulling the inside of the pockets out is fine). It also helps to have a good lawyer on speed dial to prevent them from bending the rules. If it seems fishy, just place the call and hand him the phone...
