Apparently unpaid police bribes ...

Austria - where I am from - is ranked #4 ... still so many people feel they would live in an "unsafe" country ... they probably have no clue what happens in the world outside their narrow borders.

Clothes like t-shirts & cheap day wear can be got in Uk much cheaper & better quality than Thailand.

Thailand is not nearly as cheap as people think imo.

It probably very much depends on where in Thailand you are. I am in Mae Sot and on the burmese markets here you would pay less than B50 for a T-Shirt ... you couldn't get anything for at least 4 times that amount in my home country (Austria).

Being in a civil war, I would expect the Baht going south though anyway ...

I am a 46 year old Austrian citizen and will work in the coming months for an NGO in Mae Sot (Tak province), close to the Burmese border.

From the Thai embassy in Vienna, I received the following visa:

Non-immigrant

category "O"

single entry

enter before: 13 Jul 2010

1) Is this a 90 days or 1-year visa? (I guess it's 90 days but there is no information on the visa itself)

2) As I plan to visit neighboring countries, where may I get a multiple re-entry permit? In Mae Sot, Tak or at BKK airport? (I have no plans to drive to downtown BKK)
